How to Film a Fitness Commercial / GYMSHARK Behind the Scenes

- How to Film a Fitness Commercial - I got the opportunity to film a BEAST athlete named, DJ, my sister in laws boyfriend. He absolutely loves Gymshark apparel and everything they're about, so I wanted to film him at Metroflex in Arlington and create a Gymshark behind the scenes commercial about it! The theme for this shoot was "Overcoming Failure" and I had sent DJ a few questions prior to production day and had him script out his answers, which we ended up recording in the car after the shoot. #createyourreality

Not only was the final product amazing, but love the BTS. It is great to see something like this being shot in real times, especially for someone that would like to do this type of work. Thank you!!
Kenyon Sessoms dude! That’s awesome. Thanks so much. Glad you loved it!
Fantastic commercial!! Thorough BTS too. was super interesting to see how you composed those shots and the technical aspects of that decision process. Great Vid!
Thanks for sharing this behind the scenes! Great job!
Darrell D Media glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you!

Dope video man! Really enjoyed working with you on set!!
This is brilliant. The video actually gives me idea of how to shoot my campaign for my brand.
Nice job!!! 👏👏👏

Hey... The whole commercial and BTS video was great 👌 Really loved the way u taught your audience " How to do it like a pro step by step? " Maybe for beginners like me who are very much interested to know these kind of scenes.. Do more and all the best for you upcoming sponsorship 😊👍 ( love from India also I have subscribed now )
Happy to hear this! Thanks so much 😁 more to come for sure!
Stayed to the end. Learned so much. Thks for sharing
Awesome! Happy to hear this. Thanks for watching and glad you learned something!
What would your advice be for actually composing the shots you did? I noticed you went quite close in a lot of the time, other than just showing the branding was their any other reason? Really liked the video, been thinking of doing my own spec ad too
Thanks for sharing man! I love these BTS jobs!
Do you use autofocus for much or mostly manual for these?
Looks like you always have your hand on the ol focus ring
Thanks man! It was all manual focus on the RED! No autofocus
@@JustinRomeyn Thought so! Appreciate these so much.
Great great video...
Hope Gymshark actually used this...
appreciate that! I hope so as well
fantastic video ....however i think the narrative audio over the gym video could have been mixed better it sounded to detached from background music
Agreed, prob should’ve brought music and sound design up a bit
How do you keep all those external audio files that he is recording organized with the footage?
Enjoyed the commercial & BTS. Hoping GS will pick you all up! NOW Did I hear Arlington? As in Arlington,Tx?.... I'm not as big as Gym shark but I could use some help. I'm looking to launch some products soon.
Yes, we are located in the Dallas area! Hit us up on our website if you are interested. www.redcreativefilms.com
Anyone know the song? It’s a different version of the greatest show but I can’t find it anywhere
where did you get that t-shirt?
nice
Thanks!
What frame rate you used to shoot the video (for the majority of the video, was it 24 fps or 60) and what focal length you used on the red ?? I didn’t notice you changing lenses. Great content
Thanks!! I used 35mm, 50mm, and 16-35mm for the entire shoot. Majority of video was shot in 23.976 and did all the slow motion it was in 70 or 80 fps!
what monitor were you using?
Did you have someone pulling focus for you because I was wondering how some of the shots were in focus. Didn't look like you were doing it yourself.
oh man the RAW footage coming out of the red looks amazing
Right?!? Hard to go back to not shooting RAW 🤤
Very nice! Did Gym Shark reach out to you guys yet?! Also, I caught where you said you went to 60/70fps for slow-mo, but what frame rate were you using for the regular motion scenes?
Thank you!! They have not reached out for work ...YET, but they did see it and share on some of their socials. For all other shots I filmed in 24 fps - the gold standard 🤩🤓
@@JustinRomeyn Thanks, Justin, I appreciate it! And shoot, if I were you, I'd straight-up write to the higher ups at GymShark, tell them who you are, maybe resend the video and ask them if they're wanting you to produce any other videos. Maybe even offer a "holiday sale" on your prices (but they don't have to know what you'd originally charge, either ;) )
Keep up the good work!
Good Job..... Hope this was seen by GymShark....
They definitely saw it!
@@JustinRomeyn How did they respond?
@@JustinRomeyn did it end up with you getting a gig or your model getting signed with them as hoped for?
Which of your LUT‘s did you use to colour grade this video? I am thinking about buying your LUT‘s but I am not sure which package I have to buy to achieve this look and which specific LUT of the package you recommend me to buy did you use? Bte awesome Job!
Shavis thanks so much!! I’ll have to see which one I used can’t remember. I know I only applied it at the end at maybe 25-30% strength
Okay cool, let me know when you found out. I can‘t wait 🔥
did you guys end up gettinf any work from gym shark? From a videographer looking to use the same strategy to attract clients
We definitely got recognized by them and had some of their "higher ups" reshare the video, but still no official work with them yet. Although they may not be the best company to base this off of, since they have tons of full-time video creators on staff internally.
Nice BTS. Nice to see someone not far off my own workflow. Feels reassuring.
However, like, some of the, like, direction is , like, driving me, like, a little, like, nuts.
Just, like, sayin’.
❤️
Lol dang. Didn’t realize it was that bad I gotta watch that 🤭
Justin Romeyn hugs! ❤️

I. Need new video. Work out. Video
Terrible form haha 1:46
Leaving the audio in on the individual clips really made the final video come off amateurish. Feels like something that was shot okay, but cut together by a kid in imovie. Can't even figure out why the hell you even recorded audio on the shoot.
Metro flex, Fort worth?
Dope video man! Really enjoyed working with you on set!!
Always bro! Thanks for coming!
