- This video tour in Bad Godesberg Germany (municipal district of Bonn) offers a great way to enjoy a walk and Bad Godesberg city & Godesburg Castle's beautiful ambience on a summer day in July 2020 after the reopening of many businesses in the end of April. Bonn was the former German capital. It is famously known as the birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven.

Most foreign embassies were located in Bad Godesberg. Some buildings are still used as branch offices or consulates. Founded in the 1st century BC as a Roman settlement, Bonn is one of Germany's oldest cities. From 1597 to 1794, Bonn was the capital of the Electorate of Cologne, and residence of the Archbishops and Prince-electors of Cologne. From 1949 to 1990, Bonn was the capital of West Germany, and Germany's present constitution, the Basic Law, was declared in the city in 1949. The era when Bonn served as the capital of West Germany is referred to by historians as the Bonn Republic. From 1990 to 1999, Bonn served as the seat of government of reunited Germany.
I am starting this time at the top of the Godesburg castle. I will walk all the way down and show you the city center.

Ebenfalls!! habe meine erste 6.5 Jahre meines Lebens 82-89 in der Umgebung verbracht! Manches sieht noch genau so aus wie aus meiner Errinerrung, muss unbedingt nach all den Jahren hin reisen. Ein Paradise war das damals!

Thank you for the video. This brings back so much memories. I'm originally from Indonesia but this place is where I spent my early childhood and kindergarten years back in the 90s. I believe the kindergarten is called St. Marie, right behind the St. Marie church. 😁

My hometown! 😍 Although I live abroad for so long and will not return back, I still miss the good ole days there. Now Godesberg turned to a decaying suburb of retirees, migrants, crime and at least ignorance. I come home once a year for Christmas and it turns worse...

I’ll put it on my list for the next time I visit Bonn Bad-Godesberg! But will still take a few months until I go there again.
Ich finde diesen überwiegenden 70er Jahre Baustil leider sehr unästhetisch, weshalb ich den Stadtteil eher weniger gegenüber dem Zentrum (bzw. der Altstadt und Südtstadt) bevorzuge, aber die Straße bei 27:32 ist echt wunderschön 😍
