Salutogenic Science

David Rakel, MD shares his vision for the future of health in his welcome address to the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of School of Medicine and Public Health. Salutogenesis - the origins of health - recognizes the complex system in which we live and the effect of historical, social-cultural, and physical environmental conditions on our ability to thrive. The department’s focus moving forward is to create a collaborative research network for salutogenic science that addresses the health needs of humans, the communities in which they live, and the planet we all live on.
