👉What about a SUB-Domain with a different C-Name? For example, I have my main site and then a subdomain attached to Clickfunnels. Would that still track if I include the main GA4 code on the pages?
Hi, I need to disable Cross-domaing tracking instead. No one cross domain is configured in GA4 but url's are always shown with gl_ parameter. Any suggestion? Thanks!
Hi Julius. I assume, it is best to create a fresh property dedicated for cross-domain setup before implementing. What do we do with existing GA4 properties for site A and B.and will those cookies conflict the crossdomain setup=?
Will this work with my website + third-party appointment page (Appointmentcore)? The appointment booking page I have does have an option to put Google Ads tracking ID
Hi Julius, I have got 5 different domains where user can go from any domain to other. Currently I have got GA4 property separately setup for each with ecommerce tracking on each that implies each has got different measurement ids. I want to setup cross domain on each for remain 4 sites. How I can do that?
Hi Julius, I have two seperate websites: One is built on Squarespace and the Other is built on CHIME (real estate IDX site)... I do use a vanity URL for the CHIME site, that is a sub domain URL from my primary site... but I believe since it's just a vanity URL that my CHIME site and Squarespace site are seperate.... would you consider them seperate domains where I should set-up cross domain tracking?
Hey mate, I have 30 different computer repair websites - how could i make it so that i can compare all of this, as opposed to going into them one at a time - whether its in analytics or search console
Hi Julius. Thanks for the video. Quick one -- Before watching your video, i hadn't setup cross domain tracking, hence on GA4 events were recorded as Referral rather than the main source of conversion. However, i have fix this. Will the historically data recorded as "referral" be changed to the correct source now that i have fixed the issue?
Hi Julius, great video. Do you maybe have a example of cross domain tracking set when an redirect happens? For example an URL gets built in PHP. Thank you
I have been creating separate account for each domain until now. I do not understand how to use 2 domains with the same tracking code. Will that not mix all the data together? Audience overview etc? I want to cross-domain track sessions but still be able to check each domain data separately :S. How is that possible?
Thanks Julius! we have 2 domain and same product. one domain is used for paid search only. could this method help us have one ga that shows cross channel journeys in mcf repprts? i mean when user enter the paid domain and later come back to main domain via organic search we can see its unified journey in our reports.
Should i set cross-domain tracking from GTM (linker parameters) and from GA4 interface together, or just one setup is enough? Conversion linker is used by google ADS remarketing tag, if i don't set this link, would my google ads work fine? What if i make this setting with the GA4 cross domain tracking together?
@@AnalyticsMania by conversion linker we mean cross domain settings of it, isn't it? "link across domains". You suggest doing this on GTM and then GA4 linking as well, both are needed i understood
Hi @Julius, Is it possible If we do cross-domain which are having different GA4 measurement ID? for example Website A and Website B have different GTM containers and different GA4 measurement IDs. But we want to track users who are going from website A to website B. If we keep mentioning website A in the website B GA4 cross-domain settings. Is it possible to track users in website B?
Thank you for the video! 2 Questions: 1) do the two domains only share the 1 tracking code/measurement id? 2) can you ross domain track from GAUniversal and GA4?
Sir, One of my GTM container tags are only fired in preview mode but not fired in browser directly. I published tags but they only fired in GTM preview mode. How can I fix this problem?
Had a similar problem with a client - turns out they were publishing a different version. So if everything work is preview, be sure that you have actually published the changes and the published version is correct.
Hey! Thank you for your tutorial. I have a question. I handle this problem a while and here is the issue. You said the sites have to be in the same ga property. Is there a way you can setup a cross domain tracking when both websites are not in the same ga property? I need to set it up and the second page isnt mine so i cant make changes there
Hi Julius - so in case I use multiple subdomains (Single page landing pages) and I want to track and see the performance of each subdomain clearly on my Main Site Analytics. what exactly do I need to do in order to set it up correctly? would be great to see this topic covered
Awesome video, quick question: both sites must belong to the same property. Do you mean that both sites need to belong to -> Account A, Properties: Site 1, Site 2 ?
You probably meant cross-site tracking, not cross-domain. These are two different things. Cross domain tracking works on safari even with that setting enabled. However, keep in mind that cookies expire sooner on safari and cross domain tracking has no impact on that.
@@AnalyticsMania thanks for the speedy reply! I did indeed. Curious, is there a way to enable this via an api? We’ve clients who send ECommerce users to our site, we send them back, and we want a shared view of their interactions after using our service. Would be ideal if we can get to a “pair with GA” button on our dashboard that enables this via a permissions screen?
Hi Julius, Great video! Quick questions: 1. Do I need to setup different datastreams for each domain? 2. Do I need to setup different GTM containers for each domain? 3. My website works as follows: on website A you look for tickets -> you go to website B to pay for them -> depending on your payment provider you go to website C -> you payed and you are back to website A. How does this needs to look configure wise? Do I need 3 streams and 3 containers? Or can all be done with 1?
Hey Julius, Big Fan of yours. Thanks for your great efforts. Can you please share a video and block on Enhance Ecommerce tracking in GA4. Thanks in advance.
No plans to do this. I will explain that in very great detail here www.analyticsmania.com/courses/intermediate-google-tag-manager-course/ (launches in 2 weeks)

Hey Julius. I followed all the steps but the cross-domain implementation is not working. I can't see any results...
Great job, as usual. But whay if we want to report those domains separately in GA4, like we currently do with Views in UA?
Yeah I wanna separate stats of my homepage and blog

In GA4 can you do cross domain tracking between data streams from different properties or do they (data streams) have to be within the same property?
Google's documentation specifically requires using the same data stream.
@@AnalyticsMania Thank you! yeah this is definitely gonna limit things, specifically given that there are no roll-ups available either.

Hi. Is that means we can set up cross-domain using ga4 setting. Dont need to create a cross-domain tag on gtm like when using ga3, right?
Right
Thank you so much for the video. it helps a lot. May i ask what is "all websites must use the same ga property" means? thanks again
it means that you must use the same GA4 property (a place where you store your data)

No, Account A, one property
@@AnalyticsMania so site 1 should belong to its on account i.e. Account A, property: Site 1 & Account B, property: Site 2

Hello Julius, thanks for the video. Quick question: does a webapp count as cross-domain?
cross-domain tracking applies only on websites

Do both the webpages have to be hosted on the same server?
