I enjoy your lekker reviews, man! I’m lucky enough to own a big, fat V8 Tundra (essentially a Northern American Land Cruiserish bakkie) here in Canada where I live, but would have loved to trade it in for one of these babies. That Tundra-V8 is silky smooth, powerful and reliable, but ruinously thirsty with its 6-speed auto. The newly released next generation Tundra now also comes with this twin turbo V6, but the thing is as big as two houses (not just one) and an absolute pain to have to find a parking spot for in town. Unfortunately we don’t get the Cruiser in Canada - very sad. If we did, it would, however, be much cheaper than in SA. I never fail to be shocked at how expensive cars are in SA…..and that takes into account the exchange rate. I would not have been able to afford to drive what I drive here, there.
I'm in Canada and own the Land Cruiser's little brother, the 4Runner TRD Off Road! It also has KDSS, which is just excellent! I own an FJ Cruiser I have had for 12 years, since my parent bought it for me when I was 16. They use the same platform and engine, so I can say the difference KDSS makes is very substantial, both on and off road!
So Ciro decided to troll all those who are Buying all these Offroad Capable SUVs and keep them in their Surbabia Garages and Shopping Malls 😂😂😂😂😂😂.... The Car Market Indeed dnt make sence anymore😂
Lol. Love the video and especially the sarcasm!!! However... while most of these vehicles will probably not even see a "nice" dirt road; some sensible people will actually buy them to go off-road. Looking forward to seeing a proper off-road review of this vehicle one day.
What is the turn angle? I saw you drive over a stop line when turning on the intersection. Is it that long and that big? Would it be easy to park it in a mall? It is a beautiful breed 😍 Sport S-Plus impressed me. I must give it a try
Awesome car. Expensive, although for what it offers, relatively cheap compared to its alternatives. Nissan Patrol 1 yr old compelling value to consider as well for around R1m.
Those were some very tame speed bumps you had to navigate (2:34). Some speed bumps, potholes, and sand-filled trenches across our suburban roads, are getting so massive, normal cars suffer from suspension damage and belly scrapes, trying to get over them. Even some of the higher softroaders aren't up to the task anymore. Bulky go-anywhere SUVs with low-range gear capabilities are almost compulsory nowadays - no longer just for "show" and definitely not out of place in the suburbs and at the malls. I used to hate them but now learned to tolerate them since I came to understand the drivers' fears and concerns.
Uhm.. That funny button with the turning circle by the 4x4 controls is not to help it turn with the difflock on........... It's actually a function that brakes the inside wheel to reduce the turning circle when offroad.
I'm sorry Cirro but YOU only see Land Cruiseres mostly in Suburbia because YOU spend your time mostly in Suburbia ;). Visit the places where SUVs are essential and they're quickly as popular as a Polo. Lekker Vid!
You are one hilarious 😂 Motor What what lol 😝 this was awesome thank you for being you lol one day I will definitely work with you people watch the space
I wasn't sure if this SUV was still sold in the U.S., apparently it still is, though you rarely see them. The U.S. spec model is still ONLY V8 powered, the engine produces 383 horsepower. Base price for the 2 seat version is $87,000 with the 3 seat model starting at $92,000. And no, the U.S. does NOT get a GR model, ours are the chrome laden models.
My wife liked my LC200 far more than myself. So I had to keep it for 5 years, but I was very happy to sell it before the boom.. My FJ Cruiser was far more enjoyable. But I am getting older now, so maybe I will also get one? Thanks for the lack of an air suspension, but I think I still prefer a Bakkie, because it can go proper off road( no oval jokes). But that dash, I dont know. And I am nowadays very much into value for money, and you didn’t mention anything about value for money? Simply because it isnt good value for money? Thats my view in any case.
I was looking forward to Ciro reviewing this car but, I was a bit disappointed. The GR version of the Land Cruiser is a more off road specced car, not for "sporty driving"
The only people that need a GR Landcruiser are those tour guides in Dubai that try to scare you by drifting on dunes for the 5km shuttle to the overrated desert dinner.
That was the actual sound. The surface was hard compact clay. It makes tires squeal like that. The same happened when we filmed the Big Bakkie Drag Race on the clay pan.
Epic vehicle!!! But why can't the SA models have a sunroof also, like other countries? (Even as an option) Which idiot at Toyota SA made this cruel, and utter stupid decision??? (I would imagine its a very old man working at Toyota HQ in SA, who wears a toupee / wig, and when he once opened the sunroof at speed on a LC200 one day, he lost his wig. And now he is pissed-off at all sunroofs?)
Spot on. Sunroofs are available as an option in other countries but not in SA. I tried to spec mine with a sunroof. Dealer made it clear....Its not an option. No rational reason. Very good vehicle and an entertaining review
I haven’t played the Lotto in years, but all of a sudden the need arose. Bliksem this Cruiser is desirable! 💥😁
Hahaha ek ook
😁
Gaan twee keer die lotto moet wen.
Gee die nommers nou ja😁
Most impressive! Have to see it off-road properly
Reinforcing the fact that you’re one of the best presenters / car journalists out there Ciro!
Enjoyed this a lot (and a little jealous)

Hi from Australia. What a great review, i like the humour and the gravel oval was something different to the usual review.
Ciro come on man 😂 i am literally bitting my teeth as you drive over the speed humps 😂
The vehicle took those like a champ though 🙌🏽 seriously impressive
GR LC300 have the most agrresive looks in the lineup..love it 🤘🏻
The Truth in this Review is Epic, The Landcruser is found in all the Suburbs of Gauteng , cruising away to the Mall. It’s the Rich Peoples GTI 😅
Yes yes, it`s lovely and all, but can you mount a Soviet DShK machine gun to it and take over a small town in Northern Mozambique?
The hardest part is actually getting one in SA without it being priced at over R2.3 mil due to the popularity and shortages.
2.3million. Rather buy a lambo xD
That's happening everywhere in the world .
The sarcasm in this video is top notch 😂👏

I like the Toyota FJ Cruiser more and more when I see all the buttons and electronics on these new vehicles doomed to go wrong in the long term.

Aspiration, prestige etc still matter.
People rarely buy staff because they “need it”
Come one :)
Just a pity that Toyota dropped the V8, despite the LC300 being much more powerful than the 200. Time has changed....but what a LEGEND!!
And I think the v8 is more reliable than the V6 after 15 years of driving or so
saw a guy driving around the shopping center parking lot before leaving. He couldn't find the courage to park it.
The videos and pictures of this car don't give it the justice it needs, on the road this car is beautiful

Honestly the GR doesn't look good with all the black trim, it's almost as if the GR looks like a base model compared to the other model.
