Seriously. They now want teachers to take bullets on low pay and poor treatment. It's sad they the nerve to never understand why the teachers are fleeing.
Exactly. I am in my 3rd year of teaching, and I dread the weekends because I know I am going to be spending up to 10 hours preparing for the following week, instead of actually enjoying the weekend. If we at least got paid for the hours we spend working outside of school hours, that would help make a difference.

The school building has become a different battleground in my district. From the loosing standards on dress code, to the UFC type fighting, to weapons, to the horrendous foul language, to the cell phones, to smoking in the bathrooms… we battle more in a day than most do their entire life.

Sometimes it Is in reverse: no gen Ed teachers and spec Ed teachers are forced to serve as both. This year we have a class of kids that haven't gone a single year with all four content teachers. This year the students are tested in all four contents and they have no math teacher or science teacher. The school has no grade level administrator and not enough "points" to get one. How is that possible??!!??!! Society will continue to deteriorate as long as we are more committed to gun laws than education.
Mixed special ed and regular kids can work great, but not for all special ed (or all regular) kids and you need more teachers and aides in the classroom. My kid went from special ed K to advanced classes in middle school (and no IEP anymore). But we got really lucky to be in a place with a ton of support into those first few years. It isn't cheap or easy, but it can pay off long term. I'm not convinced that kids who need special ed are the problem though. Even back in my day, those regular classes were a nightmare. The honors/advanced classes were the only decent ones.
I left in 2021 after teaching for over a decade, and when I tell you that my life has improved dramatically, I’m 100% serious. After a couple months being gone, I randomly stopped having anxiety nightmares and I finally realized just how bad an environment I had been in. I don’t actually have depression or anxiety, I was just entering Hell every day.
Students and their parents, as well as non-support and disregard by districts and administrators are why teachers are quitting. Add on that no matter what we do or don't do, we are to blame for everything. The inmates are running the asylum, and I am done being bullied by 12 year olds. Not returning next school year. I pray I can make it to Christmas.

"what pay?!" 😂😂😂 funny but true. Teachers BEEN tired of the low pay, lack of appreciation and backing by administration, disrespect by kids and their parents, etc!
As I a former lunch lady, I can attest that admin and parents drove all of us out. I had a job close by then they moved me to a job farther away and I was working to pay for gas, then ignored my new manager not passing my reviews.
Love it. Teachers folding their hands and leaving the table, and why would anyone want to take their place? Are you happy now, parents? Admin, you good? Because you got exactly what you invented. Congratulations to the brave souls who made it out alive!
In addition to being “tired” (nicest word we can use), WE RESPECT OURSELVES ENOUGH TO NOT PUT UP WITH THIS SHIT. To those who have decided another route, my hat’s off to you. I’m right behind you.
Im glade too! I’m a parent who went into the School system before my children started school to get an idea of what to expect; which areas had the better resources and supplies, how the teachers and staff were supported, and how to support my children’s needs. I’m still here (left and came back) and I’m ao happy that all employees especially teachers have other options! Unfortunately for the entire world it’s the teachers who took the job for the wrong reasons who will be the ones left and that is the real tragedy!
Middle school teacher here with 16 years of experience. I have roughly 150 students on my roster. 31 ESE, 20 ESOL and 5 504s mixed in. Definitely not easy and I am always trying to choose my battles with these students.
My teaching job in China: penthouse apartment overlooking the beach. Respectful children. Perks galore. Pay is good, but the safety, respect, and appreciation is EVERYTHING!
You keep handling us the same way we might leave the same day… drove the Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry😂😂😂😂😂 I escaped over a year ago but I still come back to listen to his comedy because it’s so real! Funny funny funny !!! They gotta fix the salary schedules because they’re rigged against many experience teachers who would go back but they’ll only put them on a low step on the “initial placement “ salary schedule -pay them for 6 to 10 years experience when they may have 15 or 18!!! Give them year for year experience on the salary schedule and you’ll have some teachers back!!!😊😮😂
They want people to pay 30k for a teaching degree and thousands for certs and continuing ed. It's not worth the amount of debt one has to take on for dealing with all the classroom issues.
They should cancel shool all together and allow kids to become psychiatrist, relationship therapist, lawyers, doctors, palm readers etc. The world is dumb af but everybody knows all
They'll lower the qualifications for teacher positions. Which in turn will result in students receiving lower quality educations. When these students are adults and don't become contributing members of society??? Maybe then they'll start giving teachers their due credit. They have our children more than we do during waking hours. They should be supported 100%.. when the foundation has no support the whole building crumbles.

She did it for a little over 2 years and hated it but she loved the children and that's how she was able to make it that long. 4th grade Math and Science and that lady who said it killed her to leave her kids, that's exactly what my daughter told me, she loved those children like they were her our and she said they aren't truly teaching the children, admin is a nightmare and they don't listen to the teachers. She quit last September, a month after school started, got a job at a hospital and went back to school to continue her education in her medical field.
These young people are not wasting thier time in fields of service because they have seem thier parents treated like crap. Brace yourselves people, soon there will be no one left to teach your kids, feed your kids, no childcare. It's not just about flipping burgers. These young people do not and will not put up with the bullshit! I can't wait😂😂😂😂
Well, maybe the districts/states will finally realize “Oh crap!! We need teachers bad! What can we do to get them to come back or for people to come to this profession? Maybe we should pay them quite a bit more, give them better benefits and have a zero tolerance policy of disrespect towards teachers and other students (bullying)”. The school boards need to stop giving themselves raises they DO NOT DESERVE and give them to the teachers to get them to stay!! This might sound bad but I would be quite amused if 90% of the teachers in these districts went on strike or quit!! Make the school boards panic so they take action and have no choice but to meet the teachers demands!! 😂💯💯
Translation. Not getting enough women coming into the profession. No reason any more for them to settle for poor pay, terrible classroom conditions and abusive administrators. Lots of opportunities out there now.
Too much pressure on teachers, from all sides! Add no discipline, no money, constant demands... Rethink the system and let teachers be treated like the professionals they are. Pay them, protect them, and stop monitoring them! I was a teacher for over 20 years and the system was always bad. It just got worse!!!!
That one administrator in inner-city school just got a $70,000 a year raise. And the teachers are on the picket line. They're making 35,000 a year in the same district. That'd ministrator is now making over 300,000 a year
What sad is colleges require a 3.0 gpa to enter their teachers education program yet a student can finish with a computer or engineering degree with less than a 3.0 gpa and still find a job paying better than education.

"what pay?!" 😂😂😂 funny but true. Teachers BEEN tired of the low pay, lack of appreciation and backing by administration, disrespect by kids and their parents, etc!
The Chevy is super dry u ain't never lied
I love this guy!!! This is such a mental break for us educators.
That man is speaking the full Gospel Truth ❤❤❤❤
"What's love got to do with it?" 😊
Like SpongeBob... imma head on out!! 😂😂😂😂
As I a former lunch lady, I can attest that admin and parents drove all of us out. I had a job close by then they moved me to a job farther away and I was working to pay for gas, then ignored my new manager not passing my reviews.
I developed trauma symproms from the ongoing unpredictable weekly violence. I retired a year early, and can't believe I lasted as long as I did.
Love it. Teachers folding their hands and leaving the table, and why would anyone want to take their place? Are you happy now, parents? Admin, you good? Because you got exactly what you invented. Congratulations to the brave souls who made it out alive!
😂😂😂 I do look forward to these videos
Thank you for a much needed laugh. Brilliant
“It’s ‘Bye bye miss American pie. Drove my Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry’” 😂🤣🤣
Middle school teacher here with 16 years of experience. I have roughly 150 students on my roster. 31 ESE, 20 ESOL and 5 504s mixed in. Definitely not easy and I am always trying to choose my battles with these students.
I’ll protest with the teachers!
My teaching job in China: penthouse apartment overlooking the beach. Respectful children. Perks galore. Pay is good, but the safety, respect, and appreciation is EVERYTHING!
SOME of the kids, yes!😂😂😂
“SOME of your kids” 🤣😂 PREACH!!!
You better tell em, Eddie!
You keep handling us the same way we might leave the same day… drove the Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry😂😂😂😂😂
I escaped over a year ago but I still come back to listen to his comedy because it’s so real! Funny funny funny !!!
They gotta fix the salary schedules because they’re rigged against many experience teachers who would go back but they’ll only put them on a low step on the “initial placement “ salary schedule -pay them for 6 to 10 years experience when they may have 15 or 18!!! Give them year for year experience on the salary schedule and you’ll have some teachers back!!!😊😮😂
Peace is worth more than a job!
"Now we have options!"
They want people to pay 30k for a teaching degree and thousands for certs and continuing ed. It's not worth the amount of debt one has to take on for dealing with all the classroom issues.
Emphasis on “SOME of your kids” 😂👏🏾
😂😂😂 The levy was dry💀
Yeah im one of the 51,000 😂
And many are soon to join the ranks... my Lord 😢
FACTTTTT!!
They should cancel shool all together and allow kids to become psychiatrist, relationship therapist, lawyers, doctors, palm readers etc. The world is dumb af but everybody knows all
bus driver and I quit at the in may as well! it was the straw that broke the camel’s back
They'll lower the qualifications for teacher positions. Which in turn will result in students receiving lower quality educations. When these students are adults and don't become contributing members of society??? Maybe then they'll start giving teachers their due credit. They have our children more than we do during waking hours. They should be supported 100%.. when the foundation has no support the whole building crumbles.
Uh, they’ve been doing that for decades. Where have you been?
You just reiterated the plan of those in control.
@@rebekahbek1065 fair point
@@reedwright301 I can only speak to my own experiences and conclusions and since I'd have been in elementary school, I'm not aware of anything passed that except what I'm seeing now as an adult.
My daughter graduated with her bachelor's in Biology, May of 2020. Decided to teach a year later since the 'demic threw her plans off.
Let's see if A I can do a better job at teaching the students and protecting itself against mase spray and other attacks on the human educators ???
Babe, teach y'all own kids. Sincerely, a former teacher who gave her career over to the only person who can help it God.
"What pay.... If we keep gettin handled the same way, we just might be leavin the same day" 😂😂😂
These young people are not wasting thier time in fields of service because they have seem thier parents treated like crap.
Drove the chevy to the levee and the levee was dry 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Translation. Not getting enough women coming into the profession. No reason any more for them to settle for poor pay, terrible classroom conditions and abusive administrators. Lots of opportunities out there now.
Too much pressure on teachers, from all sides! Add no discipline, no money, constant demands... Rethink the system and let teachers be treated like the professionals they are. Pay them, protect them, and stop monitoring them! I was a teacher for over 20 years and the system was always bad. It just got worse!!!!
Teachers needs to be paid as much as Teachers.
That one administrator in inner-city school just got a $70,000 a year raise. And the teachers are on the picket line. They're making 35,000 a year in the same district. That'd ministrator is now making over 300,000 a year
Love don't pay bills!
What sad is colleges require a 3.0 gpa to enter their teachers education program yet a student can finish with a computer or engineering degree with less than a 3.0 gpa and still find a job paying better than education.
Give the students and their unruly parents consequences. That way, the teachers, Great kids, and their great parents can come to work and school in piece. Also, cut all of that extremely enormous amount of crazy unnecessary paperwork. Support us. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💞🥰
It all starts at HOME. This is so exhausting.
People ain’t crazy 💯💯
You aren't allowed to send a kid to the principal. Those days were over 20 years ago. Teachers have to handle it all. I lost my mind
Homeschooling is looking better each day. Most of them are not teaching and as we'll let my kids sit in front of the computer, same difference
I left teaching after 11 years. Loved my kids; hate the principals and counselors.
Ma'am YOU may love us but most of these parents certainly do not. 🙄
Drove the Chevy to the levy, but the levy was dry😂😂😂
