Thanks for the question, Mihaly. It's a matter of the pigments used to turn the material dark, because they also help protect against the damage of UV rays. The more pigments, the more protection the threads get. The West Advisor has a pretty good run-down on the different colors and which last the longest (as well as other info on marine canvas) here: www.westmarine.com/WestAdvisor/Selecting-The-Right-Boat-Cover There's also an interesting discussion on color vs. longevity from a custom cover maker here: www.sewlong.com/2016/02/26/sunbrella-life-expectancy/. Hope this helps explain.
Thanks for the question, Patrick. We don't have an answer for you, though we can say it likely is a standard bimini provided by the manufacturer, which is Chaparral. You might reach out directly to the company to ask.
Stainless steel 7/8" tube frames are best. Humpback jaw slides and eye end hold best with 1 set screw removed and riveted. Aluminum and plastic are good with a wind of 9 mph. SS frame and fittings good to 50mph. I've been pushed off youtube, my channel will still lead you to my bimini DIY videos of canvas work.
what? how does a dark bimini last longer? they attract heat, the sun UV sucks out the colour...i dont see how that lasts longer
