      @MVB Outdoors I used a storage container thats about 5 gal with a screw on lid. Added a battery powered bubbler with an airstone (beyond bubbles) off amazon. I'll probably upgrade to a cooler down the road when I find one at a garage sale or something.

    What measurements would I need in order to use rivets? I would like to use them. They looked nice on yours. Would it be the size of the pilot hole you drilled?

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  6 місяців тому +1

      I use 3/16 rivets so you would drill a 3/16 hole. You would wanted closed end rivets so water cannot pass through them. These are the ones that I use: amzn.to/4cr4nNE

    I do a lot of casting for smallmouth bass. Do the aluminum side poles get in the way of casting? The Bimini’s come in 2 heights, I think 44” and 53” heights. Which did you pick?

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  Рік тому

      I positioned it so the front and rear decks would be open for casting, the interior it would get in the way but I also don't usually keep it open when actively fishing. It's more for the down time. Link in description to the one I picked, I forget the height.

    My Lund WC 14 is 60 inch wide outside edge to outside edge. So I would go with 61 to 66, or 54 to 60?

    • @kencleg7721
      @kencleg7721 5 місяців тому +1

      54-60 cause your mount will need to be in the center of the edges 59 - 1/2 on both sides on a 1.5-2 “ gunnel

    Curious about the decision to not have the cover over the seats? Was this just due to choice for storage when down? Seems the top not coveing the seats defeats the purpose of the top. Considering adding one and just asking for my information. It appears you had a couple feet of stern deck to move back for storage of top? Clean install! Like the idea od the side skirts to add comfort for my wife.

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  7 місяців тому

      Positioning had a lot to do with keeping the back deck area available for fishing even with it up as well as storage when not in use. However, it being over the seats only matters for noon, other than that the sun is hitting it at an angle anyway, the side panels help more for that. All in all, we didn't have any issues with shade in the seats in this configuration. Excellent choice though for comfort, really helps cool the boat down.

    I guess you're expecting to spend a lot of shade time in the middle of the boat. 🙂 The driver isn't going to have shade except for certain times driving into a setting or a rising sun. Early morning and mid-day (hottest) the driver is screwed.

    • @delzotto777

      @mvboutdoors I understand but during use you would need to keep the bow facing the sun or else it becomes useless with the sun at your back. Or is that position good enough cover?
