Those pliers are invaluable! Do lots of (automobile) wheel bearings. Lots of evil snap rings.

thank you much, I am getting ready to rip apart my 6 speed to replace second gear, I have ordered the main drive race removal tool , a big snap ring plier like yours and a 2 1/4 drive nut socket, I will try to go slow and write down everything like you did, I do not have a press but I have a couple of bottle jacks I can improvise with . I feel better about the job after watching you.

Those mainshaft races are known to walk inwards over time if you engage a gear and loosen the mainshaft nut on the opposite end of the shaft but don't take it off completely .you can then give it a hit to knock the shaft outwards just enough so you can get your proper race removal tool in and remove it .

Thanks for sharing man! Had another comment on it previously too. Tried exactly that on the last transmission I did and it worked perfectly. I even put it in the third video for this but it just hasnt been uploaded yet. Its very cool that I am able to use this channel to help people out and also evolve my methods as well! I appreciate you sharing that with me.

Where’s part 3 to this series? How Do I measure my main shaft / counter shaft to find out if they are straight?

How do you get the internal needle bearing out of the 5th gear? I have been looking for a tool to do it but cannot find one. I was hoping to see it done.

I am putting it in part 3 of this video but, I put the main drive gear in a vice and use a long punch and drift them out with a hammer. There is a tool to install them though.

can anyone tell me if when you order the andrews main drive gear. If it comes with the internal bearings installed or do we have to order those separately?

I think those are sold together. Let me know if it comes without them installed. Also my shop is a parts dealer so if you need any help ordering it or cant find it let me know also!

Good video im doing a 6 speed in a 2017 ultra m8 looks like theres really no way around not buying another high dollar tool to get that last gear out of the case

yeah man, when in doubt shell it out. (cash that is) Better to be safe and do it once than to revisit the same issue or do damage trying to take short cuts.
