Often times, serial killers, do revisit their crimes. They will show up for the search party. They like to know what is being said and done. The good Ole boy system protected him too, and he knew it. I personally would completely disregard this because it’s not uncommon for serial murderers to purposefully throw off investigators. BTK and Berkowitz (son of Sam) are known to do it. I mean, it does make a lot of sense why he was never caught, and why his grandfather, even after so many years, kept close tabs on how the crimes were portrayed (the movie)...it's convincing.
Equally, there's many other cases of unsolved violence and suspected serial offences that have yet to have a strongly suspected person identified. His grandfather could have been a vet with ptsd and sensibilities from a few generations back, hence his authoritarian character. Its possible he was or was privy to good old fashioned police corruption hence why he's got secrets and twisted words to avoid implicating himself or others. As a big case in his district, he could have become obsessive with it even if not the perpetrator.
you know what’s crazy about this guys grandfather? my dad also a cop (not in vallejo) was in Nebraska same time as Richard and then stationed at Treasure Island same time as richard and then passed away 1 week before richard. Lots of parallels to my dad. So crazy. Chances are they crossed paths at least once.

I was in the Navy stationed in Vallejo during the mid-80s. During that time a sister to one of his victims was making waves and not letting the case go cold. One day she came home from work to find a note warning her to let it go, or risk "joining her sister." On the inside of her front door was the zodiac sign. That was before the symbol was released to the public. That's when I started following the case. From the beginning I and many others thought he was a cop. It wasn't until a week ago when I first heard J's story that I felt comfortable putting a name to the zodiac. With all of the other suspects, one thing or another didn't fit. If one is wrong, they're all wrong. They may all be d1cks, but they aren't the zodiac. This is the only case that fits on all points. We'll done J.

My grandparents live in Benicia and when I was with my grandfather while he was at the hospital in Vallejo, I’d drive past the crime scenes. It’s surreal, because you know deeply of the darkness that took place at these locations, but the areas are just so serene that it juxtaposes itself against the history.
Lets not forget that this guy is not the one that "found" the zodiac killer, its the guy he is interviewing. What a weird ass way to phrase your video.

Also for this guys theory to be true, for half his evidence to be true, every single cop, EMT, doctor and dispatcher that night would all have to have accidentally written down the time wrong, but somehow they all lined up with the timeline being established. 'Only a cop would know to block in with his car and dazzle with a flashlight' Ridiculous, anyone would know to do that. 'he and another cop had both slept with darlene (which is an unproven and dangerous claim) and my grandpa fought that other cops......' But he's not in this for the fame, its for the families. The Netflix docu series about Mr. Allen bought me here. I also see this video didn’t go into much detail about him. The series is VERY believable, however I’m still open to there being other suspects, such as Richard Hoffman.

He'd be giving the families of the victims closure by solving a case like this, not to mention bringing tons of notoriety to himself.

The fact he mentioned Richard liked the holidays and old Germanic stuff is HUGE! Most of our Holidays are actually Pagan Holy days and time periods. Richard Hoffman 100% was not zodiac. He accompanied Darlene to the hospital by ambulance and was with by her by his own report and several other officers report. She was pronounced DOA at 12:38am at Kaiser hospital and Hoffman remained at the hospital until around 5am. At 12:40am the killer called police from a phone booth 5 minute drive away at another location.
@@blackice4649 how so? Multiple other reports by other officers on the scene support the fact that he got into the ambulance and rode to the hospital. Ambulance arrives at 1238, phone call is at 1240. It’s not possible.

And second theory: the phone booth was a mere 10 min from the hospital, if you sprint it would take maybe half of that. The zodiac was out of breath on the phone-call, also they might have been off on the timestamp as they didn’t have the same technology and it was probably only around 40 when the phone call was made, could have been 12:45 or 46 or 47 that it was made. Giving him enough time to make an excuse for maybe going to buy cigarettes, asking his colleges to cover for him and for him to do this after darlene was pronounced dead.

I think Richard probably killed the first one out of revenge. And realizing he could get caught, he created the serial killer persona as a cover from the first murder. When he realized they were off his scent, he quit. Just my observations. With them thinking it was a serial killer, he was now in the clear.

I think someone also mentioned that the Black Dahlia murders where done by his father, saw a documentary a long time ago. These cases are always the best when letters and other details are made public and someone comes up with "hey my husband / son / grandfather / whover does the same spelling errors or style in writing!" and once the suspicion is there it is easy to dig deeper. The Unabomber was also uncovered by his own brother because he recognized the writing style as typical speech pattern of his brother...

Original Night Stalker / East Area Rapist was also a police officer in California, and one could argue was probably the more infamous unsolved serial killer more so than Zodiac until 2018 when they were able to match DNA to Joseph DeAngelo. This makes sense that Zodiac could also have been a police officer, he had a stocky build too like a police officer.

I mean, it does make a lot of sense why he was never caught, and why his grandfather, even after so many years, kept close tabs on how the crimes were portrayed (the movie)...it's convincing.
Equally, there's many other cases of unsolved violence and suspected serial offences that have yet to have a strongly suspected person identified.
His grandfather could have been a vet with ptsd and sensibilities from a few generations back, hence his authoritarian character. Its possible he was or was privy to good old fashioned police corruption hence why he's got secrets and twisted words to avoid implicating himself or others.
As a big case in his district, he could have become obsessive with it even if not the perpetrator.
you know what’s crazy about this guys grandfather? my dad also a cop (not in vallejo) was in Nebraska same time as Richard and then stationed at Treasure Island same time as richard and then passed away 1 week before richard. Lots of parallels to my dad. So crazy. Chances are they crossed paths at least once.

I was in the Navy stationed in Vallejo during the mid-80s. During that time a sister to one of his victims was making waves and not letting the case go cold. One day she came home from work to find a note warning her to let it go, or risk "joining her sister." On the inside of her front door was the zodiac sign.
That was before the symbol was released to the public.
That's when I started following the case. From the beginning I and many others thought he was a cop. It wasn't until a week ago when I first heard J's story that I felt comfortable putting a name to the zodiac.
With all of the other suspects, one thing or another didn't fit. If one is wrong, they're all wrong. They may all be d1cks, but they aren't the zodiac.

Richard Hoffman 100% was not zodiac. He accompanied Darlene to the hospital by ambulance and was with by her by his own report and several other officers report. She was pronounced DOA at 12:38am at Kaiser hospital and Hoffman remained at the hospital until around 5am. At 12:40am the killer called police from a phone booth 5 minute drive away at another location.
But if richard hoffman wrote the reports himself he could change the timelines to cover everything up.

The zodiac was out of breath on the phone-call, also they might have been off on the timestamp as they didn’t have the same technology and it was probably only around 40 when the phone call was made, could have been 12:45 or 46 or 47 that it was made. Giving him enough time to make an excuse for maybe going to buy cigarettes, asking his colleges to cover for him and for him to do this after darlene was pronounced dead.

This makes sense that Zodiac could also have been a police officer, he had a stocky build too like a police officer.

I have one question about this, in the case 2 cops claimed to have talked to the Zodiac after he killed Paul Stine (the taxi driver) if 2 cops talked to Richard who is a cop then wouldn’t the 2 cops know that Richard was a cop and recognize him or tell the department that he was in the area?

It still baffles me that the officers who stopped him that night in the Presidio were never questioned or asked to give a description or a composite drawing. They literally laid eyes on him and spoke to him (briefly), but nothing ever came of it. Insane.
