And in the real world the rig is still waiting for the 4wheelers to be cleared out of the way on the right as we speak.

2:18 you can’t do that turn in a small town nor with a line of traffic

While you wait for the 4 wheelers to clear the way, 3 more cars shows up

A 5? He ended with the trailer in between the two lanes. Also, I'd like to see you try button hooks in small town anywhere. Sometimes it's unavoidable.

You make a good point! In some tight spots, it’s nearly impossible to make a perfect buttonhook turn without ending up in two lanes. Safety is always the top priority, even if it means bending the "perfect" technique.

Once your trailer starts to clear the corner, you still need to keep it close to the edge. Your trailer tires should not end up in the oncoming lane, or you will end up opening the space for 4 wheelers once again, which was the initial point of the video. Practice it and keep it closed down. The method was right, but the execution is a 3 or 4 at best.

The point is more proven on a 4 lane road and a car behind you thinks your taking the second lane so they try to pass you on the right side because the space is available.

@@juliasdeadthereisonlyzuul Button Hooks are the right way to do it, but exactly, you can’t always do it that way.

I understand the importance of staying in your lane, question, say if a pole or a rail of any sort was close to the curve what turn method would you recommend

Button hook, watch your trailer tandems as you complete the turn and use as much space on the road you are turning on to avoid hitting the curb/object.

That was just one car, what if it was rush hour and it was 20cars lined up,he would have never made that turn…..but the the first turn if you block up traffic, they have no other choice but to wait and let you make that turn….But these were good examples

Absolutely, rush hour definitely makes turns trickier with more cars around. It really comes down to choosing the safest option for the situation. Thanks for pointing that out, and I'm glad you liked the examples!

Why not show how to buttonhook that turn without backing up that car and without opening that gap on the right with some real wheel cranking left then right?

First one .. should not do it like this unless limited turning room .. use button hook turn for this intersection.
