Watch Gordon Ramsay's 90 second videos and then you'll see the real deal when it comes to efficient instructional
      videos with zero over talking

This video is nth but over talk
She just speaks out what is she doing
Not instructing views how to do it
What heat is it on? What kind of bubbles are u looking for at the cooking caramel? How long does it take to reach certain stage? None of these important info were told… her narration is nth better than point form notes on screen…

100% recommended to try at least once. As long as you have the ingredients lined up to use and stay patient, the caramel comes out amazing!!!

    OKAY. LISTEN UP.
I AM 15 YEARS OLD AND IM GOING TO SAY IT HOW IT IS; I AM A PRETTY GOOD COOK.
    ANYWAY,
BEING THE FAT LARD THAT I AM, I DECIDED TO GIVE THIS A TRY BECAUSE I WAS BORED AND LOVE FOOD.
    SO.
I GO TO TRY THIS, FOLLOWING EVERY DIRECTION, AND IT WAS GOING PERFECT. LIKE ACTUALLY PERFECT.
IT WAS THEN, IN MY MOMENT OF CONFIDENCE, THAT THE POT FULL OF CARAMEL FOAMED UP ALL HUGE AND EXPLODED VOLCANO STYLE ALL OVER THE STOVE.
MORTIFIED, I STOOD AND STARED AT THE BOILING AND SOMEWHAT HYPNOTIC DESTRUCTION OF MY PARENTS STOVE TURN INTO A CRUSTY AMBER COLORED HELL.
THE POT CONTINUED TO EXPLODE AFTER I REMOVED IT FROM THE HEAT, SO I RAN, (lawd jeezuz I raaaaan) TO THE SINK AND THREW THE EXPLODING POT INTO THE SINK AND TURNED ON COLD WATER AND BEGAN TO CALM DOWN. I TURNED AROUND, AND BEFORE MY EYES, I SAW THE KITCHEN FLOOR, COVERED IN THE CRUSTY AND BURNT SMELLING HELL THAT ALSO COATED THE STOVE. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES OF MENTAL BREAKDOWN AND 10 MINUTES OF MENTAL REBOOT,

+Chloplix To me, this sounds like superheating. It's an occasional phenomenon that might occur when boiling a liquid. In this case the liquid reaches its boiling point but doesn't actual start boiling. It will eventually form a large bubble and burst. It is neither your fault, nor the tutorial's. Another interpretation I have is that maybe you didn't swirl the pot enough, causing the sugar to form a slight crust at the top, trapping a large amount of vapor unerneath, which eventually exploded.

At last - this is the recipe/technique for which I've been searching! Thanks so much for posting!!!Many descriptions insist that you cook the sugar too dark - a "rich, reddish brown" - which is nonsense for a sauce... and just tastes burned in sauce form. This turned out great - highly recommend - yum, yum!

Lmao,, I'VE been feeling the same way lately. "Why didn't y'all tell me?!" Me blaming everyone for not telling me how much stuff can be made from these big as tubs of flour, cornmeal, oats, etc. Going without sweats like caramel cuz someone ate the last piece and I don't want to go to the store 🙄. Now I'm making fig Newton's from scratch, got a lot of time to make up for lol

i wonder why so many people keep asking the same question after it's already asked and answered already. can't they just read a few comments first?
also, if you don't want dairy products to stick on the measuring cup, rinse it with water first and then fill up with dairy. makes cleaning easier too!
