You could have done it a different way, I had a lady reverse back into me & crack my bumper badly & windscreen wash tank ( as my car has the Overfinch body kit) they wanted to write the car off because the repairs need to be guaranteed by the insurance Bodyshop the costs are crazy. I didn’t want them to write the car off so I got a quote for the repairs considerably cheaper & the insurance paid me the money & I had the car fixed myself buying a new bumper & parts off eBay & my local Bodyshop spraying & fixing the repairs that way the car is not totalled & has no accident history. Whilst this was happening I had a new Range Rover hired to me at £300 per day for 3 months whilst the insurance company dealt slowly with the matter.
People mainly pay too much from Copart especially with high end vehicles. Finished ideally the Range Rover should be done for round 12 grand. The good old days there was always a good profit in salvage
Your insurance took your ca r away in couple of hours......sometimes insurance just can't wait o haul, the think away. If ever you are thinking of keeping a car, don't let the fekkesr have it, get an estimate yourself.
I only buy salvage if it’s going to work out at about half current market value fully repaired. I’ve done ok so far and Copart are notorious for asking for more money after the auction has finished. Insurers certainly won’t give you a good price if it’s then written off again.
@@Craig-c5e it’s Beyond me! He was travelling on the other side of the road too so not sure why he came across the other lane, over the path and through the wall!
@ wasn’t including screen, bumper, wing doors in same colour from scrap yard just found for about £650, bonnet small repair, headlight cover £50 aftermarket. Very cheap repair if done yourself with a days work no problem!
You’d have got it a lot cheaper buying direct off your insurance.
@@shauncourty4208 They didn’t offer it to me - to be fair though, I didn’t specifically ask to have it back either.
You have to ask, had a couple of these and its cheaper direct

You should have bought it back from the insurance company, they sell them cheap....
In hindsight I should have asked for the opportunity.
Think you done the right thing ,Intresting vid btw 👍
@@LewissssxD Thank you!
£18.000 won’t replace an identical RRS sadly

I was hoping it would be repaired and given back to me, shame they reached such a high estimate to repair.

Copart try and negotiate after the auction has ended do they? Cheeky.
I didnt know they did a hybrid. Can you plug it in
@@DaleSteel they’re not a plug in hybrid, just self charges mainly under braking.
What's going on with fees over hundred quid for bidding on eBay, plus £50 to get it out of their yard plus vat.
I thought the winning fee was pricey too!
Plus the fork lift damage
Wise decision
Some people shouldn’t have a license!
How on earth do you crash like that on a residential street! 😮
@@Craig-c5e it’s Beyond me! He was travelling on the other side of the road too so not sure why he came across the other lane, over the path and through the wall!
I would have purchased it back of the insurance company and kept it. Nice motor.
For some reason I wasn’t given the option. I didn’t specifically ask either though to be fair.
@@terrymurphy562 only if this is stated in your policy!
Not all insurance policies offer this!! 🙂
@@bosswayltd you would probably have to approach the insurance company yourself.
About £700 in parts that! Very easy repair!
@@Craig-c5e I’d think the windscreen and 2nd hand headlight might be most of that but I’m not an expert in crash damaged cars.

I would of given it a go
Kind of wish I had now!
Selling that private before the accident you would have got around £14k so you did OK
Perhaps for a non-hybrid. When I looked on Autotrader there was only 8 Hybrids for sale between £19-27k.
Why didn’t you buy it back from your insurance company ?
