A red winged blackbird dove at my head repeatedly while I was trying to retrieve a frisbee from tall grass. Only once I pointed to the frisbee and said I would mind its babies, did it allow me to slowly proceed - but not before it repositioned itself from up behind me, to in front of me on a low branch and watched me very closely. I swear, it called to others who took position on the lines above and spaced themselves out 20ft apart until we were clear of the field. Everyone who saw it had a good laugh. I had a new found respect for birds.
Yeah, they're super aggressive here in BC, Canada. I was picking wild catnip at a nearby pond and they have lots of nests in the tall brush. One started dive bombing me and I held up a handful of catnip and it actually stopped. I was pretty dumbfounded by that. I was able to fill my bucket and leave in peace. 😂

18:49 Story time... when I was looking for a doctor who would take my insurance, I found a doctor who looked almost exactly like my older sister's friend who is a urology technician. Her doppelganger happened to be in a different medical field. 😮
Actually, it's the male (or father) red-winged blackbird that protects the nest and goes after people and animals getting too close. So in this case, nothing is stronger than a father's love

I remember me and my brother caught a click beetle in our yard. We looked at it for a bit and watched it then decided to release it. I said "wouldn't it be funny when we release it a bird immediately grabs it." We release it and it flies towards a part of the house where small birds can enter the attic, a bird comes flying in, grabs the beetle, and enters the attic within a second. I start laughing but my brother looked heartbroken. Funniest coincidence yet.
Well I have one story During primary school 3rd grade, a student accidentally forgot to fix the bottle in his bag properly. So the bottle fell downstairs and hit my head, nothing serious ofcourse. He apologized and we pretty much had no contact with eachother.(We were 3 grades apart I think) Skipping to first year of highschool, I joined a group that teaches elderly to play board games, there was one student that likes speaking English as much as me, since we are in Hong Kong it is quite uncommon. Even though my school is an English school, each time after school we like chatting with eachother and became friends(BUT NO SHIPPING US OK I DON'T LIKE THOSE). Soon our mothers decided to meet, then one day my mother told me something I will never forget. That student was also the student that accidentally dropped the bottle on my head 3 years ago. Even after she found out what her name meant, she kept on singing, and even tried to get a major in it! To this day, she loves to sing. She truly earned her name. Here's to you, big sis.
That's pretty bizarre about the names and occupations of people. I took up playing drums in the early 80s and it was my drumming teacher that said my name was an awesome coincidence to the hobby I gravitated to. My last name is "Tapping". 😂 I didn't even think about that until the teacher mentioned it.
Re the ring, I can also tell a first hand account on this from my mom: We went to the same holiday home for years. When the owners retired due to age, they gave my parents a few examples of the flowers my mom likes so much. We drove home, my mom (successfully) planted them, but found a ring wrapped around one of their roots. Called the old owners, was told it was a "backup wedding ring" the wife had worn during World War 2 and lost in that very garden some time in the late 40s. This happened in the late 90s.
Some years ago, a woman whose first name was Merry (not Mary) married a man whose family name was Christmas. To make the coincidence odder, she worked in an office where people answered the phone by stating their names instead of saying, "Hello." Imagine someone saying, "Merry Christmas," in July. A P.S.: In my entire life, only on one occasion did I meet anyone named Christmas. By coincidence, it was because I was eating lunch at a restaurant where a Christmas family reunion was taking place. I met a lot of Christmases that day.
