My apologies for the awful audio!! And go check out Adnan's channel in the description! Check out the lens here: amzn.to/4cUoIe2
Did you shoot on the XT4 using the DJI mic 2? Happens to me all the times and drives me INSANE!!! I just use another mic with Fuji now, I cannot get rid of the peaking even with the safety track :(
@@hipabroad unfortunately this was due to my auto levels on cam with my mic I believe:/ I can’t remember my mic name rn haha but not DJI. such a bummer when audio has issues tho!!
He has since moved on to panasonic if I’m not mistaken, his views quickly changed right after the newer firmware updates which made autofocus mostly unusable.
Firmware for this lens specifically?? If you’re referring to the body I just never updated my firmware:) I found it always worked for me on 1.03 and I kept it.
Interesting, I really didn’t expect you to review the 18-120 and more so like it 😂 I have both it and the 16-80. The 16-80 is optically better in the corners with no surprises there but the lens OIS in my experience isn’t great with video with even stable pans regardless of settings. It’s best for a tripod style shot. The 18-120 is great focus wise, agree it is responsive to the autofocus adjustment and the exposure stepping has been fixed (though in reality even before it was only apparent at two specific points in the zoom range and any videos that zoomed out he whole zoom range just looked cheap anyway rather than selective with purpose). Only small gripe I wish the sensitivity in zooming or focus with the ring or rocker was a little less sensitive if trying to do a subtle capture. Otherwise, I am interested however in the new Sirui anamorphic you just reviewed tho. Anyway good review John always great thought out content
I use this lens for hiking and low stakes video projects. Even when I can upgrade to a MKX 18-55mm T2.9 lens I will likely keep this little power zoom for the previously mentioned purposes.
Hiking with this thing is seriously a dream! And I think keeping it is very wise.
I love my 16-55. The 16-80 OIS is no slouch and has optical stabilization, which in my view acts better than fuji's ibis on many occasions. The 18-120 after some firmware updates, is no slouch either.
Yeah they are all pretty great lenses and actually amazing at how uniquely specific they are for different markets
This has been my go to lens for sports videography
@@spussejr98 I can absolutely see it being perfect for that use
When I shot Fujifilm, I owned this lens and it's a FANTASTIC lens. I didn't use it for video at all. It was used for travel and street photography. Most people don't know that the X-Trans processor is a 1.53 crop, not 1.5 like Sony and Nikon. Whereas Canon is 1.6. That said, you get 28mm-184mm, rounded up, at f5.6 in full-frame terms. That's a LOT of reach with a lens that's light weight and sharp enough for photography.
But here's the thing about the Innanets and Social Media, EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE complains about everything. There is no perfect camera, there is no perfect lens and last but not least, THERE IS NO PERFECT PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEOGRAPHER. There doesn't need to be. As a photographer, who does various forms of photography, it's about the Art of Photographer which doesn't require the sharpest image corner to corner.
UA-cam especially will have people thinking that they have to have the latest and greatest everything to make good photos. So not true.
@@d.idowuolutosin4250 completely agree with the heart of your comment. Beautiful, meaningful imagery has very little to do with equipment used.
Reddit is my everything

Olympus 12-100mm f/4 IS Pro is the better lens; way sharper, built like a tank, gives more reach on the wide end and on the tele end, better closest focus, clutch manual focus switch and sync-IS making it WAY better for video without a gimble, which with lens, you basically don't need it.
Does it work for the Fuji system? I’m confused haha! I use Fuji cameras so I don’t think I can use that lens?
@@johnstamw no You can't. It's micro 4/3 specific lens
That’s what I was thinking:) I was confused about why compare Olympus to Fuji lenses if they are not cross compatible
@@johnstamw The comparison stands because they have a similar focal range and the same constant f/4 aperture. This is an apples to apples comparison, easily.
