Did you have to do anything special to get permission to fly there or just get the EU license? On the D-Flight app it says you can't fly drones in the Dolomites at all but there's heaps of videos from there anyways 🤷🏻♂️ I'm flying there tomorrow so just looking for info Thanks
@@The_Scottish_Adventurer No, I just have EU registration. Before I went there I tried to get info about whether I can fly there or not. But the D-Flight app/website did not work and I didn't find any definitive info elsewhere, so I just took the chance and simply made the flights necessary for this video. I try to fly away from people and not be a reckless pilot by disturbing people or animals - but that's what I do everywhere I fly, independent of whether it's permitted or not. If it's really prohibited to fly there, I would assume that the majority of people who make drone videos there did not apply for permission. In general I don't fly if I know that it's not allowed. And, for professional gigs, I always apply for permission when I need to fly in prohibited areas, but I have done that in my home country only so far.

Going to the dolomites in October 2023 and cannot wait. ''Knowing a bit about drone photography and cinematography' (read: I have made every and any error possible!) I for sure know that this has required a huge amount of hard work, frustration, getting tired and exausted both at location and in the editing room. I like that the clips are not too short and the smooth transitions (especially the one at 1:10 to 1:15 is very cool and well thought out!👍👍). Amazing shots of the landscapes and truly inspirational. Congrats with the results shown in this video.
Jim, thank you very much for your comment. Rest assured that you will enjoy this one-of-a-kind mountain world there. True that some frustration and exhaustion was involved - isn't it in each project? - but on the other hand: compared to how remote and out-of-this-world the Dolomites look, most places there are easily accessible and even the more remote spots require usually not more than a 2-3 hrs hike. October is a great time there, but be sure to come not too late in October as some roads might be closed already. I know it's a bit to go until then, but let me know how you liked it when you return! :)

@@misiakufal I did my research beforehand but did not find anything useful I could understand. I asked an Italian drone pilot if he could find out for me, but never heard of him again. So I just went for it. I don't give any recommendations here, but when you're not sure and still want to fly, try to be considerate regarding people and animals, be sure to not fly when there is other air traffic around (or land immediately if one is approaching) and don't annoy people 😁 Then you should be good.

When I filmed the footage for this video, I had been flying drones for only 2 months.. and when I edited that video, I had maybe 6 months experience in video editing. Thank you ☺️ TVs are often times able for variable refresh rates, the problem is more on the side of computer and smartphone monitors because of mostly 60Hz. But if you know that, you can circumnavigate around it by using 30 fps 🙂 And sure there is a difference to 24, but you don't get real 24 on a 60 Hz screen... just uneven playback which, at least to my eyes, is an uncharming mess 😅

In European Union, you need to be registered as drone pilot, yes, even for small drones like the Mini 3. Regulations are different from country to country.

Unfortunately I crashed a third time in October when I was in Slovenia... it was a difficult shot in a narrow space and I guess I hit a twig without leaves on it, because I didn't see it in the camera... luckily, DJI care refresh had me covered (once again). And because I have a second Mini 3 Pro (I think you know if you saw my crash video) I could continue filming while I was in Slovenia until I received a replacement unit :) I'm subscribed as well :)

As for the gimbal, I mean those shots where you raise the camera of the drone so high, which adds such a cool perspective. and from DJI drones, only the Mini 3 Pro can tilt the camera up so much. @@t0mwhazzup I hear the Dolomites are quite restricted with regards to drone regulations. I've never been to Iceland, but I've been contracted for some drone work there

In European Union, you need to be registered as drone pilot, yes, even for small drones like the Mini 3. Regulations are different from country to country.

You crashed the drone twice, but from what I can see it came in handy. This movie is amazing. Great shots and creative use of the specific gimbal capabilities of the Mini 3 Pro. Cool! 😀👍 I can't subscribe a second time so I added a Like 👍👍👍👍

Unfortunately I crashed a third time in October when I was in Slovenia... it was a difficult shot in a narrow space and I guess I hit a twig without leaves on it, because I didn't see it in the camera... luckily, DJI care refresh had me covered (once again). And because I have a second Mini 3 Pro (I think you know if you saw my crash video) I could continue filming while I was in Slovenia until I received a replacement unit :)

As for the gimbal, I mean those shots where you raise the camera of the drone so high, which adds such a cool perspective. and from DJI drones, only the Mini 3 Pro can tilt the camera up so much. Initially I wanted to do more to grow but I recently realized that a) as a hobbyist I can't keep up with a tight publishing schedule and b) in the end it is not so important to me.
