  • A compilation of short clips featuring 27 films that Wilfrid Brambell (1912-1985) appeared in (according to IMDB). Made-for-TV films, docudramas, shorts, foreign language films and Children's Film Foundation movies are not included.
Wilfrid also appeared in the 1947 films "The Hills of Donegal" and "Eyes That Kill", but I was sadly unable to find clips.

My mum and dad always had Steptoe on as we grew up but I never knew he did all this. Thanks for this

This was actually a very important compilation as it shows what a great character actor he was. He was one of the old Rep. school of actors that could turn his hand at any part. Every week, they had to learn new parts for the stage in those days. Wilfred Bramble was very much a loner in real life. I don't believe that ever socialised with people from the acting world. When he died, only a handful of people turned up at his funeral. That's very sad, as he had an immense talent.

Adept at accents. Obviously his own accent was Irish, but plenty of others on display in this compilation (probably various different Irish accents too).

@@russellwhite1581I was wondering about his true accent
On TV paying tribute to Harry H Corbet on his death Wilfred spoke with a "cut glass" English accent ..

Because of his height & features, he was unmistakable in any part he played.

He was in the Beatles' film "A Hard Day's Night", as John's Grandad, "He's very clean, isn't he?". (Nod to "Steptoe and Son?)

Wow, very good! I wonder what Wilf's real teeth looked like? He seems to have worn a different set of caps in every film he made
