It was on a Monday night at 9.30pm then if I remember rightly so too. Thank you though too!
And of course too Kenneth Williams certainly knew what he was on about; as well as all the old Carry On films he was in before that too! A shame that he died when he did though, although I am sure we read later on that he took his own life though alas too.
I think that too the series was slated later on because of her manners or styles, which is why there was not another series of hers. But I am not too sure though?
Thank you for sharing! ❤️ xx
A rare character, fascinating, like looking at the sky at night, the harder you look the more you think what is it.
And then you realise you are looking at a rare star :)
That's SO SWEET, Charlotte - I was a young man in Ken's heyday......I feel he's left us with an extraordinarily entertaining/intellectual/comic/complex presence that latterday so-called 'wits' cannot hold a candle to. Bless you, & seek out his Edith Evans anecdote......ab priceless!!!
Oh how I miss Kenny, Aww Bless. RIP 2019 & not forgotten,
Absolutely adore this man! Watched him in the "Carry On" movies when I was in junior high. So wish he was still here! Has influenced me in my own character acting! Love you, Kenny!
He's one of the few made Joan Rivers quiet, less mad.
That's because she knew how to interview him to get the most entertainment from it.
Brilliant . I grew up with this humour , it's still genius
From a time when huge talent was routinely taken for granted.
Kenneth Williams is a true legend,
Infamy, infamy, they've all got it infamy. My favourite line in Carry On Carry on Cleo.
even now 30 years later this is edgy and subversive and somehow has an element of danger and anarchy - you really don't know what he's going to say or far he'll take it
it's even unclear if he is totally in control of his own shock value
he was a genius - his self posession is amazing - SO SO FUNNY but at the same time a staggering performer, makes everything look spontaneous, the timing, the wit, the NERVE
great to see stupid thicko Phil Collins looking so uncomfortable!!
Totally agree, Especially re Phil. Total philistine and utter bore!
He couldn't even bring himself to clap, I've always thought of him as a total plank.
This is a great comment. KW is fiercely singular and chaotically irrepressible, a genre into himself, yet feels like an intimate friend. Robin Williams is the only comparison I can think of
Absolutely true!!!
I laughed out loud at your stuid thicko comment xx
Kenneth Williams what an amazing character what an amazing comedian. When you are so intelligent so witty and so not self obsessed you can take the piss out of yourself. God bless xxx
Ohhh what a couch! One of my fave double acts is Moore and Cook, my fave Carry On star was Kenneth and one of my all time fave singers is Phil Collins 😍 and they're on my fave comedienne is Joan. Brilliant!
Oh Kenny how we miss you! This April 2017 will be the 29th anniversary of his death.
