Lets look forward to a new shipping season on the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Sea Way. Lets see when the first saltie comes through....
Very nice , I had no idea this ceremony went on. So cool and nice to pay tribute to our Maritime industry, and with a Cape Bretoner no less! Thanks Nigel very professionally done video.
I love the Well and canal & everything about it,,Now how can I, living in fla. get an idea of where the ships come from, Where they are going & what they contain. A pen pal would be nice. Carolyn Hurlburt, orl.,fl. 841 Naples Dr. thanks
Hi Carolyn, there are a couple of apps that are really good to track ships anywhere in the world. Just zoom into your area and click on the port and it should have a expected arrivals link. Many of us use Marine Traffic.

I worked for CSL for 42 years and a couple of times I was aboard the first ship thru the canal
Great video - thanks for sharing. We come up there some summers to spend a week with friends.
If you see a Seadoo next to a ship, there is a good chance it's me.

OFFICIALLY THE FIRST SHIP THROUGH THE SYSTEM FOR 2024 WAS THE ALGO SAULT
You are correct, like I said in the video, it was a bit of a cheat.
Great Video !!
Why does she keep the starboard bow thruster running all the time?😀
Good question, I have no idea
Algoma conveyor could have backed out like most captains do
Maybe he was asked, it's all about timing guess
