I would like a very basic bit of advice. I am new to VR and having a problem with my mouse when Alt-Tab'ing into MSFS VR. That is ... when I Win+Y and transfer control to the headset. At this point the MSFS on screen (monitor) window minimizes, which seems logical performance-wise. However the mouse is not focussing on the VR cockpit. What is the correct 'procedure' for this?

This video is just what unneeded, thanks. Around 16:00 in, you mention the NVIDIA control panel settings and selecting Microsoft Flight sim. I can’t seem to add that. I downloaded the steam version of MSFS, is that why?
awesome video thanks for posting ... My friend has this VR and now we are trying to find a way to stream on discord but I shows left and right lens is there any way to just have 1 lens view ?
Yes there is. In windows MR settings select best quality. On WMR G2 screen there is a small rectangular box now visible on lower right I think, select that.
I just grabbed a G2 Reverb but I've got a unbalanced system due to covid gpu prices. 12700K /32 GB ram/ 1080 Ti. Simming at 1440p 2d has been excellent but VR is a little rough. It's clear I'll need a GPU upgrade. I'll start with your medium settings and go from there. Thank you for the video!
There's been an update worth noting: In my Graphics/VR menu, there is a new option for Anti-Aliasing called AMD FSR2 which is like the Nvidia DLSS setting. When I choose this option, Render Scaling is no longer listed. Instead, there is an option called AMD FSR2 which has settings such as Performance, Balanced, and Quality.
Hi Recon did you ever find any answers to the question you had about the updated setting ? Any videos or anything I could use. No recent settings video that work as far as I have found at least. I've come from a quest 2 and the quality I had in the quest 2 is much better than any of the settings videos I have found so far for the hp g2 . I'm have the g2 v2 my self which is harder again to find. recent that is anyway. Did you manage to get your g2 working well on the msfs?
@@123thedman1 I switched to a 3090 once HP sent me a replacement cable (the original is defective). The 3090 (also tried a 3080) performed way, way better. Sorry I never got any answers on that setting.

Hi Mark can you help me out? I'm using the reverb g2 v2 with 3060 ti gpu and 7600x cpu. When I fly and the plane is moving past the scenery I get a very unclear image because it lookes like the frames are flickering on eachother. For example a waterfall is doubled and flickering. But when I stop it disappears. Not sure hot to fix this. I didn't had this problem with a oculus. It seems like the reverb needs a v sync.
Hi mark can you explain what I have to do after using surround with 3 screens . Do I unplug 2 screens and plug in headset and one screen . Can I have 2 screens plugged in . Do I have to disable surround mode in nvidia options?
Hi, I just hooked up my G2 Reverb today. I probably have some tuning to do. Could you help me with a few things? 1. - Can you move yourself back away from the instrument panel, I am just to close to panel in VR. 2. Can you disable the monitor so my video card doesn't have to work so hard? ( I have a RTX 2060 super) 3. Where can you get apps for the reverb like you can the oculus? I used to have an oculus go but they were android based. 4. Can you somehow download oculus apps and use them on reverb 2 even if you have NO Oculus headset. I just used to really like the wander app on my old oculus go. 5. Do you have any "best" settings recommendations for a RTX 2060 Super card? (I have render scaling at 80) Really not sharp graphics like on my monitor. Thank you for any help!
1. Make sure you have reset configured to a button. If too close…lean forward and press reset. Lean left to move right etc, pressing reset after each change in position. 2. No, but you can run in smaller window. 3. Any app or game that supports Windows Mixed Reality platform. 4. No 5. Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/92XouMT_wAk/v-deo.html
@@SimHangerFS How do you set a "reset configured" button. sorry its all new to me, i have been watching your videos but still confusing to me sometimes. thank you for help
Mark thank you for the content. With my Reverb G2 V2, I have an issue I don't know how to resolve. In the Mixed Reality Portal, if I move my head back, several white concentric circles show up. The diameter of the circles changes based on how much I move my head. How do I make them go away because the circles also show up in the games... and that's annoying. Thank you.
I bought the pimax 4k headset and controllers but it messed my head and eyes up . it took me 20 min to clear my head so i could drive to the grocery store so i gave it to my nephew and went back to only a monitor now my head & eyes are fine. it was worth a try but i will let the younger fokes use VR.
Thanks again for the video. I just bought a computer specifically for flight sim and a reverb G2. New to both. Am I missing something trying to get the game to show in the goggles. I turn them on, set up in WMR and they work. I then go into the sim and when I am ready to fly at the end of the of the runway, I press control+tab to switch into VR mode and the flat monitor shows the two eye view I should see in my goggles, but my G2 just goes from the WMR screen to and animated transition to two black screens. Any tips? Thanks!

I can't see anything but the "cliff house". Flight sim gives me the "press spacebar" msg when I try to switch to VR mode, but nothing happens... Suggestions? BTW I have Win 11 PC, 12th gen I9 with 48 GB ram and a RTX 3070 with 8gb, so plenty of horsepower to run a game.
Hi, me again. Will downloading and installing Steam app so I can use Google Earth affect my MSFS as MSFS is my main concern but would like to use my HP Reverb G2 for other things also as the HP apps on microsoft store are very limited. If it is no problem for me to add Steam, do you just install it on my computer and it will automatically be on my Reverb G2? Thank you for your continued help!
Unfortunately, I'm not getting very good performance with my G2 and 6900XT. By all accounts, my setup should be very smooth even at "high" settings. But the only way I've been able to get butter smooth performance is by setting the anti aliasing setting to AMD FSR2 and then picking "Ultra Performance" which is the lowest quality setting. Then "Low End" for other settings. I must be having a bottleneck somewhere else in the system. Wish I could figure it out. Instead, when I pick higher quality settings the framerate feels unsettling to experience in the cockpit. It's mostly noticeable when I move my head. This is even before taking off.
Hi Mark thank you for this guide! Since some time now, when I'm approaching the destination airport, usualy between 10000 and 5000 feet the sim hangs/freezes for a couple of seconds, my Reverb G2 goes black during the hanging time and after the sim recovers and I get image in the headset again. I think this problem is related with the sim loading the destination scenery but did not find any solution for this. As a test I've done several flights in 2D mode and there is a kind of a hiccup/stutter where the problem in VR occours but the sim continues running. Do you have any ideas how can I track and solve this?
Hi Mark, great work as always please help me understand My GPU is 3070 and i have the quest 2, The hp G2 v2 is double the price of the V1 here in Dubai My question is: Is it worth selling my oculus quest 2 and get the reverb g2? If so Shall i get the reverb G2 V1 or V2 even though its double the price?
Hi, the G2 has much better resolution than the quest 2. The hp reverb g2 v1 and v2 should be the same price. If not then the v1 is the better detail, it has the same resolution.
Depends what version of MSFS you are using. MS store….no, use Windows Mixed Reality. If steam version then yes, plus download from steam WMR for steam VR.

HI Mark, do you have a concise setup guide for the Quest 3 with cable connection by any chance??
Spot On Video as usual and what of SU9
Very helpful information Mark. Thank you.
Thanks you again. My system is almost identical to your system except my GPU is a 3080 Asus. No more latency or crash. Waiting your video about the XR toolkit. 👏🏻👏🏻
This video is just what unneeded, thanks. Around 16:00 in, you mention the NVIDIA control panel settings and selecting Microsoft Flight sim. I can’t seem to add that. I downloaded the steam version of MSFS, is that why?
Another great video. Thank you for the information.
awesome video thanks for posting ... My friend has this VR and now we are trying to find a way to stream on discord but I shows left and right lens is there any way to just have 1 lens view ?
Yes there is. In windows MR settings select best quality. On WMR G2 screen there is a small rectangular box now visible on lower right I think, select that.
need this for the aero
I just grabbed a G2 Reverb but I've got a unbalanced system due to covid gpu prices. 12700K /32 GB ram/ 1080 Ti. Simming at 1440p 2d has been excellent but VR is a little rough. It's clear I'll need a GPU upgrade. I'll start with your medium settings and go from there. Thank you for the video!
A 4070 would be the perfect upgrade what did you get ?
A 4080 - awesome card. Kinda pricey but I'd recommend a 4090 if you have the PSU for it!
There's been an update worth noting:
In my Graphics/VR menu, there is a new option for Anti-Aliasing called AMD FSR2 which is like the Nvidia DLSS setting.
Did a fair bit of experimenting and found that AMD cards are simply bad at VR compared to Nvidia cards. The performance now is astounding. The 6900XT could barely play MSFS in VR. The 3090 (also tried a 3080) performed way, way better. Sorry I never got any answers on that setting.
@@Recon777x Sound i'm using a 3090 10900k 40gb of ram and i can't get the g2 v2 to look anything like what i was getting on the quest 2. Are yo happy with the way it's playing now with the upgraded GPU?

Hi !
Thank you very much for your videos !
Just my question very simple : how to start MSFS with my HP reverb G2, first i start MSFS and after i can switch in the vr mode, or first i start the HP reverb and i can jump in the msfs since the vr mode ? i dont find explication how to start correctly msfs in vr mode step by step. Hello SimHanger, I have Pico G2 VR 4K headset. Do you know whether this setup supports it?
Hi, sorry I don’t know. If it uses WMR then it should.
@@SimHangerFS thank you 🙇♂️ 🙏 appreciate your reply 😊
Excellent video, Mark. I always have Game Mode turned off, tho. For everything else, you and I have the exact same settings. Love from Norway :-)
Have you got anything of 'Windows Mixed Reality for Steam VR' ? My HP Reverb G2 (v2) has just landed on my doorstep!
An excellent guide!
Does this work on oculus quest 2?
Some aspects do, but not all as Q2 uses different software (not WMR).
Is there a minimum internet speed requirement for 4K VR for MSFS?
Mark that was first class. Never mind the beer I'd go straight for the Whiskey
🤣
Great Work here! Thanks! Do the new settings in the SIM like "Nvidia Super Resolustion, AMD Fidelyx or Nvidia Reflex" make a difference with a 3090?
Hi Mark can you help me out? I'm using the reverb g2 v2 with 3060 ti gpu and 7600x cpu. When I fly and the plane is moving past the scenery I get a very unclear image because it lookes like the frames are flickering on eachother. For example a waterfall is doubled and flickering. But when I stop it disappears. Not sure hot to fix this. I didn't had this problem with a oculus. It seems like the reverb needs a v sync.
How to set DEPTH? MSFS shows me as NULL and I don't find DEPTH in the settings - 20:00
Ignore this setting. Don’t think it is still in the sim.
Can you use the HP Reverb G2 VR along with the Velocity One yoke controller?

Can I have 2 screens plugged in .
Do I have to disable surround mode in nvidia options?

Hi, I just hooked up my G2 Reverb today. I probably have some tuning to do. Could you help me with a few things?
1. - Can you move yourself back away from the instrument panel, I am just to close to panel in VR.
2. Can you disable the monitor so my video card doesn't have to work so hard? ( I have a RTX 2060 super)

Thank you.
Figured it out. I didn't have selected the "Seated Option".
Hi Mark , does the Quest 2 oculus works with Windows Mixed Reality ? I can not correctly set it up ... any recommendation , please Thanks
Hi.
HP REVERB G2
How to turn off the visibility of the controller in the game ? Somehow it got turned on along with the visible hand.
Just don’t enable (switch on) the controllers.
Should I start from mixed reality app or from desktop and then activate vr? Thanks
Get into the sim and then switch to VR.
Nice one

Thanks again for the video. I just bought a computer specifically for flight sim and a reverb G2. New to both. Am I missing something trying to get the game to show in the goggles. I turn them on, set up in WMR and they work. I then go into the sim and when I am ready to fly at the end of the of the runway, I press control+tab to switch into VR mode and the flat monitor shows the two eye view I should see in my goggles, but my G2 just goes from the WMR screen to and animated transition to two black screens. Any tips? Thanks!
Sounds as if something is. Corrupted. Suggest reinstall both WMR and hp setup.

Running Steam is no problem. If using it for VR & G2 you will need to run SteamVR and a free steam app Windows Mixed Reality for Steam.
The only solution will relate to your cpu and GPU combo.

My question is:
Is it worth selling my oculus quest 2 and get the reverb g2?
If so Shall i get the reverb G2 V1 or V2 even though its double the price?
Hi, the G2 has much better resolution than the quest 2. The hp reverb g2 v1 and v2 should be the same price. If not then the v1 is the better detail, it has the same resolution.
