    I’ve been watching Shane’s instructional videos over and over again in preparation to put up my lights. These are the most thorough videos I’ve seen on UA-cam. I ordered my lights from Lawn and Light on Black Friday and received them a few days later (such a great deal for quality commercial grade stringers and lights). It even came with a few colored zip ties to help with organization once the lights get taken off. Well, I finally had time today to put the lights up and boy was I prepared! Thank you Shane for these very helpful videos. I can’t wait to see my lights at night.

    Awesome video! I've been thinking of doing some Christmas lights on the side. One thing I didn't quite understand is where you ran the lamp wire from 1,2,3, etc? Especially making the 3 windows. You said it came from the left but from where is the lamp wire run from? Seems like on this design there is a lot of lamp line running across big areas. Would love to see a video on the ins and outs of placement and best practices for running the lamp cord!
    Thanks for a great video!

    • @lawnandlight
      @lawnandlight  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for watching Jesse. I’m happy to help (time permitting).
      There’s actually not much lamp wire on this job. It was only used to get from the power outlet to line 1 and to connect the dormers(line 3 to 5).
      Line 1 is connected to line 2 using an in line female. The same goes for line 2 to 3, line 3 to 4, and line 3 to 5. Connecting from line 4 to 6 was just an end of line male to an end of line female. Google “inline female Christmas lights” for a visual.
      I understand that may be confusing. I’ll try my best to make a video specific to male and female connections next.
      Thanks for watching. Hit me with any other questions you may have.

    I have a big question for you. We have gone through several types of LED lights over the last few years and have not been very pleased. Some were very dim, some were brighter but had a bluish hue that hurts my eyes and makes me feel wierd (I thought I was alone, but recently saw a post where someone complained about new lights almost looking spooky ... and tons of people chimed in - so it's good to know I am not alone). We have purchased several sets of warm lights but still not getting the "twinkle effect" that incandescent lights have. Do you know where we can find bright C9 LED lights that have a warm understone?

    • @lawnandlight
      @lawnandlight  Рік тому +3

      Hey Diana. You are not alone. I hear of this same issue often. What you are speaking of is the color temperature(kelvin). The blueish ones are called cool white or pure white (somewhere between 4200 & 9000 kelvin).
      You want warm white(between 2600 and 3300 kelvin) Look on our website at the warm white stringer. The last picture is what they look like lit up. Www.lawnandlight.com. See if that’s close to what you like.

    • @lawnandlight
      @lawnandlight  Рік тому +2

      We don’t have many tile roofs around here so it’s hard for me to say. On most houses we do, some are pointing up and some out and there’s not a big noticeable difference. Pointing down is a little different story though because the light reflect off of the soffit and facia.
