Great review! I agree, the AVS system drive modes did nothing (or very little) to change the ride comfort or suspension feel. I test drove a 1794 for three days and I kept changing the suspension modes on different roads and couldn't perceive any changes. Even on rough roads none of the modes stood out, and I tried them all. Overall the ride was very comfortable, way better than my 4Runner, but I don't think the AVS adds anything you don't already get with the base Tundras. On the other hand, I was able to get very good fuel economy, up to about 20 mpg on a 40 mile highway loop driving 55 to 65 mph.
I ordered my Black platinum long bed Jan 4 , still waiting. On a test drive the tires chirp when you put the pedal down on a roll, my old Silverado V8 does much better on fuel economy. Liked your review.
Please tell me how you like those mirrors. You can adjust property bottom parts of the mirror because in my truck I can't. Also those mirrors for me they are too high and cover my vision. In my old track F150I have the same mirrors and they are good they not block my vision. Thanks Zbyslaw
Love this channel! Don’t love my 22 tundra. Parts don’t exist. And toyota pretends they don’t exist. Once your check clears you are dead to them. The dealer says call Toyota. Toyota says call the dealer. This will be my last toybroka
@@cyberspiral aside from toyota acting like shipping something by freight across 3 states requires beatification from rome itself and all the nonsense that went along with their complete inability to make cars- a lot. the vehicle showed up damaged, a major scrape in one of the side mirrors. someone jacked this thing up. that took forever to come in and when you have brand new truck with a giant scratch on it thats all you or anyone sees. then having them fix it went from a "oh just 15 mins real quick" to "oh only a special technician can work on it and hes busy and out to lunch so its gonig to be two hours". then toyota heavily adverised its over-the-air updates but literally have none- you are safety recalled into the dealership which they again make you feel like requires the same amount of time as an organ transplant after lying saying it will take "oh 20 minutes". then you get to build quality- ive seen dildos with a better finish and paint job. its laughable. and the infotainment system was developed by someone hell-bent on figuring out the absolute worst way to do everything possible. the vehicle is crazy bouncy, the transmission is on constant jack-rabbit mode, the engine doesnt know whether to sit through a gear or shift through 3 so it chooses both. theres no bed step so accessing the bed is a gymnastic event. the step is 800 dollars for parts and labor and, oh, they don't even have any so im on month 5 of waiting. then there is my favorite- the way the front bumper / air-dam was built in addition to the position of the variable vent grill means every time you slow past about 38 accumulated rain or snow will launch out the front of the grill all over the windshield. its incredibly dangerous and frightening but eventually becomes funny. thats just the start lol
And of course the SX as info. One of thing is, I've seen this in person, and I think its lame that Toyota advertised this trim with BLACK interior, and there is nothing black about it.
Did this truck come with Automatic Headlights and windshield wipers? I know its something so minimal but for a high end package, I believe these should be standard. and I can't find anyone commenting on these features.
Does that Auto engine off button (near the auto headlights) stay off upon next truck restart or do you have to manually turn it off each time you startup the truck? (My friend's F150 doesn't memorize that setting so you have to disable each time you restart the truck, unless you buy an aftermarket kit ($150) to remember you last setting).
Have owned my platinum for 3 months now and auto shut off only unables when u stop and press down on the break hard. Otherwise yes u have to click it every time u start the truck.
Does anyone know if the storage behind the rear seat’s exists on the Hybrid version? That’s one killer with the hybrid is no under-seat storage for tie-downs etc.
you dont need lift kits if you buy you truck for towing.. lift kits are for show and offroading..., i tow a 23 ft camper and a lift kit is the last thing i want
Stop buying these until prices go back to MSRP Will help everyone out. In LV used SR5s are going for 70K plus. Dealerships are selling them at auction and other dealerships In different states are purchasing them according to car fax. What a sham.
I’ll never buy a vehicle that has to grow on me. I either like it or I don’t. And for 60 thousand plus dollars it better jump at me saying I have to own it. It should be cheaper with all the plastic hat have been introduced into 2022 model Tundra including truck plastic bed.🤔
Awesome review!! I appreciate it, having switched my order from Limited TRD 4x4 to Platinum 4x4 ;-) Keep it up, always look forward to more of your Tundra content! @ogre_hauler
Probably the most well-rounded comprehensive synopsis. Thumbs up.

Ambient lighting is bad ass
Excellent review and one of the most informative reviews I've seen.
Good walk through. It is too bad you cannot combine the TRD Offroad package with the Platinum.
That would be amazing if I could get the Platinum comforts/interior with TRD off-road capabilities!
@@Eternalmotors That's how they get you with the 1794
@@hivetyrant7 But I really don't like that old people wood and cream/brown leather interior lmao

Best 34K I ever spent on my 07 Tundra 5.7 SR5 4x4, 283K runs great!
I’ve got a 07 with 218k
Great review. Thank you for all the info.
I would like to know. Sticker price. Does it have remote start? No mention in video. How is the lane keep assist? Thank you
Those accent lights are sweet!
Excellent review! Thank you!
Love the grill. Looks like chain link 👍
Excellent! Makes me appreciate my truck a little more,, a 2022 tundra Platinum same color. 😂
Hi, Great review! What is the Payload of this Platinum?
Alrightttttttttttt. 2022 TT!
GORGEOUSSSS!
How much is that Model there Exactly where you are??
which platinum version tows more, standard or hybrid?
Beautiful truck!

What’s the biggest tires that you can put on the platinum tundra without lifting or changing the suspension. ?
The largest that would fit on my 22 platinum was 33', 35' will be rubbing a little.
Yep! 33's. I have the same truck and 33's are the obvious choice without major mods.
How about wireless android auto?

What happened to yours
Ohh…so it’s like any other manufacturer. They are all the same anymore. Which is ridiculous as the prices continue to rise.

Yes, has auto high / low beam and auto wipers. As for headlight tracking on turns, no the diodes don't move.
What's the payload?
Have you tried the radar cruise control yet? Can you confirm if it has full speed range option? Down to 0mph?
I haven't tested it to 0 but I was told by dealer when I bought it that its full speed range
@@DrivenCompanion thanks for the reply. What’s the lowest speed you noticed it still working at? Just out of curiosity
@@Kanesgarage If the truck reaches 0 and stays for any amount of time, you'll need to touch the gas to get it "started" again.

how much for the model you displayed?
The price this Tundra Platinum demands means to Love it or Leave it🤔 Don’t settle for just anything.🤨
Do you like the tow mirrors better then regular?
Nope... but they might be good for someone hauling big loads
They are more manly lol
Does anyone know if the storage behind the rear seat’s exists on the Hybrid version? That’s one killer with the hybrid is no under-seat storage for tie-downs etc.
There is storage behind right side rear seat on hybrid. I own one….
is this Canadian model?
Can the sunroof tilt
The sunroof does tilt. But it’s very slight and doesn’t create a lot of airflow.

Atleast you can't really see the mustache on this truck
Does it tell you the speed limit on the digital dash, like on GM trucks?
Yes, you can change the settings and view speed, lane keeping, current music, etc. I believe at any time you can five total items showing.
How many miles does it get
Mine gets around 18 combined.
What was the sticker price?
about $65K for this
I’m my area I haven’t seen one for Less than 70,000

Not a fan of those tow mirrors. They remind me of the pipe that Popeye use to smoke.. toot toot
Yeah, not a fan myself either... but they are practical when it comes to towing at least
