Electoral college requires only tiny numbers to flip some states. Even 1 vote more means the candidate wins all the electors from that state.

I hate to agree with the Trumpkins, but this case is preposterously weak. It's at best debateable if a crime was even committed, and if it was, it was a misdemeanor. There were certainly bad ethics...but a crime? Only if you hold it up to the light juuuust right.
Of the 7 cases Trump's been facing, two of them reinforce the Trumpkin argument that the cases are pure partisanship (this one and the Colorado Ballot Access case). Two are already resolved, and are financially interesting but not terrible meaningful politically (E Jean Carroll and the bank fraud case). And three are loaded with actual serious felonies and strong evidence of those felonies (the federal election case, federal classified documents case, and Georgia election case).
Regrettably, circumstances have delayed the three cases that matter, allowing Trump to maintain his incorrect claim that ALL of the cases are like the Stormy Daniels case. This case is helping Trump by reinforcing his arguments. Jack Smith's incredible slowness in bringing the other two cases (which a cynic might wonder if they were meant to be timed with the election for maximum effect) has allowed those cases to be pushed back and now it seems unlikely that they'll happen before the election.
I think Trump is still going to lose, but that slowness has made a Trump win possible.

Trump's trial would certainly have a negative effect on most rational, intelligent human beings. But given that the people who support Trump are neither of those things, I think the unsavoury details of this trial are unlikely to move them an inch.
