God luck attracting foreign investment from companies and countries as they will need the permission of the federal government of Somalia. Also most of the oil wells in Somaliland are in Sool and Sanaag regions and clearly those people don’t agree with somaliland on independence hence why there’s fighting in Laascaanod right now. Also I know Awdal is blessed in natural resources from Gold to oil. We both know Awdal is not big on independence as well. I'm curious, if recognising Somaliland might potentially lead to more African sucessionist movements, then why didn't this happen when South Sudan became independent?
Because South Sudan and North Sudan have completely different cultures and languages, whereas North and South Somalia speak the same language, are of the same culture, and have the same color.
There is no major difference whatsoever between a Somali in the north (Somaliland) and a Somali in the south (Somalia). They are 100% identical. There are a few linguistic differences (pop vs soda kinda thing), but it’s minor. The so called “tribe” difference is merely a common ancestor, that’s all. Tribes don’t signify any actual difference between Somalis. Most Somalis despise the tribalist mindset because it’s primitive and divisively destructive. Somalia is the most homogeneous country in Africa and among the top in world (outside of Korea, Japan and a few others).
@@JohnDoeX1966 Somalia should get its stuff together and it really seems there’s no hope for that. Somaliland is the only hope left for peace in the region.

I am a Somali as well and I can say that my family were targeted by the Barre regime. Despite that, we still are one people with one national identity.
Did the prophet preach for the separation of the Ummah or unity? Now the ummah might be divided into different nations but shouldn’t we start with our own first before trying to unite with the rest of the ummah? How can the ummah ever unite when Somalis that share literally everything from religion to blood can’t even unite with themselves yet we cry wolf tears when Palestinians or uyghurs are oppressed. @maankaabe please explain?

One thing to note about Somaliland, is that all tribes are welcomed there, siad barre was of the Darood marexan clan, today you will find marexan and other member of the Darood clan living in peace without issue m, There is small part of somaliland where Darood inhabit who want to now not be part of Somali land so they start attacking innocent people l, offcourse Somaliland can’t have that so they are responding rightfully, but at the end of the day Somaliland will never go back with Somalia, all you have to is visit Somaliland and that would be clear as day, Alhamdulilah

Yes, Somaliland has retaken its independance self sufficent country. Our amzaing port of berbera is an important strategic hub for traffic coming to the red sea. We have also recently started our oil extraction with an estimated 200 million barrells of oil. Our democracy has seen mulitple elections spanning 5 presidents including parlimentary postions for the lower house. We look forward to opening fruitful discussions with the international market. and establish relations with more countries in the future.
Please educate me what type of democracy it is when you kill hundreds of innocent people and cause thousands more to flee from their homes, just to forcefully incorporate them into this fictitious Somaliland state. There is no democracy and what Muse Bihi is doing is dictatorship and genocide. But the good thing is that people are fighting to have their rights and the world is awakening to the reality that the Somaliamd regime are not as innocent as they portray themselves.
While some in Somaliland claim to be victims, it's important to remember that all Somalis suffered during the civil war, not just them. A small minority supports the so-called 'government' that seeks division, but many Somalilanders understand the importance of unity. The broader population must realize that external forces are exploiting these divisions to further their own interests, aiming to divide and rule. Ethiopia, for instance, dreams of gaining control over Somaliland, but this is nothing more than wishful thinking. Not all Somalilanders support the breakaway from Somalia-only a misguided few do. Those who push for separation are being misled by those with hidden agendas. Unity is essential for safeguarding Somalia's future against these external influences. long life to 5 somalia
AMAZING CONTENT!!!!! RECOGNITION FOR SOMALILANDERS, 6 MILLION PEOPLE IN SOMALILAND AND ALL THE DIASPORA SOMALILANDERS ARE WAITING FOR THE WORLD TO DO THE RIGHT THING SO WE CAN ALL GO HOME AND LIVE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE
I have to say many Somalis including myself are incredibly disappointed with the biased account of this issue. Let me clarify a few points: 1. Firstly you seem to be pushing the idea that due to the colonial powers rule over Somalia, that Somalia and Somaliland are two “different countries”. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Actually, the colonial powers of Italy and Britain both recognised the region as being one national identity (being Somali) and they agreed within themselves to a power sharing agreement to divide up the land. Besides, we Somalis do not accept colonial borders as our standard. There was no such thing as Somalia or Somaliland before the British or Italians came. There was only one ethnic Somali background with various tribes spread out. 2. Which brings me to my second point, you are pushing a false narrative that Somalia and Somaliland have different economies and cultures. This is not simply not true. Somalis are and have always historically been a very deeply tribal people. There are numerous clans and sub clans and sub sub clans that it’s hard to keep track. However besides the tribal difference, there is virtually no difference. All Somalis are Muslim and all Somalis whether I’m Somalia or Somaliland speak the Somali language. Economically Somalis near the ocean have always been sea merchants and fisherman while the ones inland have been pastoral herders. Down in the south of Somalia, there is an agricultural industry due to the fertile lands and rivers. So as you see, Somalis are one and the same. Only difference is tribal difference which is not homogeneous in any region. In Somaliland itself, the power is mainly concentrated among the Isaac clan who try and dominate all the other tribes in the region who don’t want to be a part of Somaliland and want to be one with their brothers and sisters in Somalia. In recent months, there has been heavy attacks and violence carried out by the Somaliland regime (mainly Isaac tribe) against the Dhulbahante tribe who refuse to be a part of Somaliland and consider themselves as part of the rest of Somalia. Similarly in Somalia, there is not one singular tribe but a wide range of different tribes all vying for power. 3. Thirdly: the Siad Barre issue: Siad Barre was a dictator in Somalia who ruled for a period of over 20 years in Somalia. Whilst he did initiallybring positive change to Somalia by running government campaigns to raise the literacy rates, reduce poverty and free educations, he did hover in the latter years on his reign, fall into despotism and nepotism. After the defeat at the hands of the soviet and Cuban aided Ethiopians, he increasingly started facing resistance in his rule as people realised he wasn’t as powerful as he once was. As a result, he started surrounding himself with people of his inner clan for saftety and started targeted attacks against prominent people of other tribes that could pose a threat to him. This terrror campaign wasn’t only aimed at the Isaac clan but any clan that wasn’t his clan that he saw as a threat. For example, the majerteen clan faced violent attacks from Barre where he poisoned their water sources, assasinated popukar majeerteen leaders and invaded Majeertten populated cities. In the end, his own despotism backfired and as a result, the Somali state collapsed in on itself. Hence the slaughter began without discrimination on tribe and people from every tribe from every region in whether Somalia or Somaliland died in the hundred if thousands. It is true that Siad Barre led a horrible campaign against the Isaac (who along with the majeerteen mentioned earlier) were the bigger tribes capable of challenging his rule. Every Somali condemns the attack of Hargeysa and the massacre which was carried out by this disctator. However Somaliand likes to blow the figures out of proportion to legitimise their current regime and their attempted secession. 4. Lastly, regarding the future, you are making it seem like only Somaliland is improved and progressing while the rest of Somalia is suffering. However if you look at the growth in Mogadishu and Somalia in recent years, you can see that the country is improving for the better as there are more foreign companies coming to Somalia as well as many Somali diaspora returning back home and helping rebuild the country. At the end of the day, Somalia is one nation and Somaliland is only a region of Somalia. As you said yourself, there are no nations in the entire world that have recognised or even acknowledged Somaliland. Also it’s important to note the terror and the violence that the Somaliland regime (which is really the Isaac clan) is carrying out against other clans who refuse to accept their dictatorship. If you just search what is happening in the city of Laascanod, you will see the chaos and horror the Somaliland regime has unleashed against the innocent people of northern Somalia all in the name of reviving a colonial state.
You are biased. Kulaha somali never agreed on colonial borders. Nobody agreed, but all africa followed that border, and if somali doesn't want the border, why is there somali ethopia till this day and somali kenya. Like it or not, somaliland border exists till the day all africa change the border.

According to the Somali Issas’ legend, it is thought that the name Djibouti comes from the name of a beast called ‘buti‘ (‘bear’) that used to terrorize the population. Upon its defeat - ‘jab‘ in the Somali language - after a wilful, pertinacious chase, it was said that “meeshi butida lagu jabiyey” (“the beast was defeated”), and so they chose to name the country after this legend.

Absolutely. It’s not only the laascanod in the East but the Awdal region in the west don’t want to break away as well. It’s a small group within the one tribe enclave that are advocating for separation. Vast majority of the people reject it
South Sudan, Eritrea and Gambia have received their recognition through talks with their mainland. Somaliland must continue to talk and negotiate with their neighboring country Somalia and the African Union.
Somaliland and Somalia was two different countries United, Somalia is not mothercountry to Somaliland, we are older than Somalia. Our case is not like Ethiopia and Eritrea or Sudan and South Sudan. That map of Somaliland is no longer existing Since there are dhulbahante and warsangeli clans in that map they don't want or support the separation and hence dhulbahante took the road to a devastating war and the clan ultimately won against what was called Somaliland, consequently controlling their land and making a regional state of somalia 🇸🇴

thank you for this video somaliland has been stable for 32 plus years recently oil was discovered in certain regions causing one clan to recently cause commotion
Somaliland is located in a strategic area. The West would like to control that area. So, it would like to see its breakaway from Somalia to form an independent country controlled by Britain and America. It is easy to see why the rest of Somalia had been I turmoil. A weak Mogadishu government will not be able to stop secession of Somaliland from Somalia. Was not South Sudan created that way? But, at that time, there was no force to challenge the Western machinations. Now there are forces capable of challenging. So, it will be interesting to see how things work out in that area.
The problem with youtube is that their stories are as credible as Wikipedia sources, needles to say that the average youtube channel is clueless about the reality in northern somalia. No where in the world does people just declare a country from thin air. Every country has territorial sovereignty, which is respected by UN and international countries. If every disagreement between local citizens leads to a new country, then the UN would consist of thousands of countries.

That has a reserve over 5.5billion barrels
The build up construction is estimated to 40million dollars signed by genel and the full production will only start after the first 5yrs with daily estimation of 50-100k barrels of oil per day
That will double the government revenue 3times as it is now
Somaliland as whole has over 30billion barrels of oil onshore

God luck attracting foreign investment from companies and countries as they will need the permission of the federal government of Somalia.
@@emptyhad2571
Somalia should gets its act together, you’re right about that.
But the other part about “Somaliland being only hope for peace” that’s not true at all lol. Somaliland has been literally killing and shelling entire towns/villages/cities of people who don’t want anything to do with Somaliland separatism for the past 6+ months. So the idea that Somaliland is a beacon of peace is ridiculously absurd. The reality is most people in Somaliland reject separatism but there’s a small group of Somaliland political elite who are pushing for bc of they want power.

@@Majirto exactly! Qabilism among Somalis needs to end! Good thing the brave people of Las Anod and SSC kicked out the SNM.
Ethopia doesn't want to open it's Pandora's box . Will never recognise Somaliland that's the fact ,
I have to say many Somalis including myself are incredibly disappointed with the biased account of this issue.
Let me clarify a few points:
Channel that energy into fixing Somalia 😃
Well said❤

According to the Somali Issas’ legend, it is thought that the name Djibouti comes from the name of a beast called ‘buti‘ (‘bear’) that used to terrorize the population. Somaliland is a terrorist
