The results were fab. It's great you are still styling and enjoying your hair even in it's current state.

I'm glad you are doing this series for damaged hair, Zig. I'm going through a lot of damage too... from bad weather.😢

I think you got great results! I have to deal with multiple textures on my head and I end of shingling parts of my hair and I even have to two strand twist a section in the front by the 2nd day or it will have no definition.

We have the same hair type and 3 months ago I had a major heat damage which lead to a lot of shedding and hair loss (beginning of alopecia) it was really scary because I always had little to no shedding before. I tried everything to recover, protein treatment, ayurveda techniques... It was not working. Until last week I decided to do a fermented rice water and OMG i got instant results from the 1st application. The shedding has stopped, my curls are coming back like my hair is really recovering which I thought would be impossible, I feel that my hair is stronger I' lookong forward to my next wash day because I'm going to stick with it until I reach my goal . I don't even think I will ever stop. You should have a look at it and see if it would work for you. It costs nothing to try. My very ends were straight and weak now they're curly and getting stronger!

Zig Beswick do not be scared ! All you need to to is let it ferment 24h until it gets slighly sour you'll get the benefits that's what I did. Some people let it ferment 48h or even more, that's when it stats to have a strong smell cause people want to get more benefits out of a longer fermentation but it's not absolutely necessary. I did a shampoo (my shampoo is also a conditionner so I didn't have to condition my hair, if not I would have) I rinsed the shampoo with warm water and then I saturated my hair with fermented rice water, covered with a plastic cap , let it sit for 1h and then rinced with cold water. I am still amazed at how quick the first results showed up. As I'm writing it's been 3 days since I did it and I have my hair in a protective style, my ends are still curly. It's like I have some layer of protection that keeps on repairing my hair throughout the days.

oooohhhhh that last sentence has inspired me!! OK i will try it. I don't think i will leave it for 24hr because my flat is extremely warm so i will try for 12 and apply as you say and see how i get on. eek!! xx

How do you ferment. Just leave the rice in water for 24hrs?

    Heeyy,
What happens when you leave your hair to dry on it's own, without using the diffuser

Hey! It shrinks up and the style doesn't last as long. Although I've always used a diffuser, now with the straight pieces that won't shrink I prefer to stretch it all out to one shape x
