This song stunned the crowd. They became SILENT. They took a good while to finally clap and cheer at the end. That is the best you could ask for as a heavy musician. They just blew away the entire audience.

seen SLEEP performed as the opening band for neurosis in '92. yes, they have those insane orange cab as tall as those green ones behind al, and everyone in that small casbah venue in san diego, CA, was like, "what the fuck...!" as it took three to four dudes to heave them orange beasts onto the stage. after SLEEP's set is done, the delayed applause was much like the one in this video where everyone's senses were crushed! love it then, and i love everything in this video now!
Damn I'd like to be in an auditorium just like that with one of those IMAX super duper wrap-around movie screens with that film of the glaciers and Sleep playing live!
When I first saw the video behind the band, I had the exact same thought. I don’t smoke weed anymore, but also thought a nice spliff might enhance the experience. 🥶😵💫😊
It's actually pretty high quality for a live recording off of a camera's internal sound card. Either the PA is extremely awesome or the camera's card is, I suspect a bit of both.

The PA is awesome at this venue. The soundcard in the camera is pretty decent. I know my previous camera wouldn't have been able to handle these volumes. Roadburn broke the mic on that one in 2011. :-)

Absolutely lethal stuff. No surprise it comes out of the Dopesmoker era. 6:26 makes me wonder if they made a deal with the devil it sounds so wicked. Somehow Pikes beer gut & ass crack adds authenticity to this. Although this is probably the pinnacle of Sleep, Cisneros & Pike do not show the intensity they do in their own bands. Not that trance like state you see with Om or screaming inensity with HOF (especially the early stuff). Maybe jet lagged or bad bud.
They totally should, instead of the bootleg quailty "Holy Mountain" track. Dont get me wrong, love that live version..but..this would have been so much cooler.
