Mr T!! I LOVE my 2018 Tiguan S fwd! There’s good aftermarket parts as well for it! I’m planning on installing drop springs to lower it an inch and a half, and a turbo back exhaust! But they have much more aftermarket parts for it from turbo upgrades to full race suspension sway bars and lift kits!

Those "business card slots" are actually vents to suck in cabin air for recycle a/c mode.
Pretty good video except for the one thing I was actually looking for is not covered: how to turn off the rear windshield wiper.

Very good review of the 2016 Tiguan. I've been researching new vehicles to replace my current car, a Beetle TDI, that VW will ultimately buy back. So far the Tiguan and Forester top the list of preferences, mainly due to their towing capability. Being a VW driver for many decades, I'm leaning toward the Tiguan, IF, VW offers enough of an incentive to current TDI owners. While the Forester comparable in handling, interior appointments and comfort, it lacks slightly in performance compared to the Tiguan. Especially with the A/C turned on. Thank you for taking the time to offer a thorough review of this crossover!
If you want the forester get the XT model in order to get the faster engine. We are most likely trading our 2015 XT for the Tiguan since it's cheaper and seems like a nicer interior.
Cool, I just checked out the XT and didn't know it has 250 hp/258 lb torque. Sounds awesome. But the design looks like it'll look outdate quicker than the Tiguan =\ Is it more reliable though??

These cars are really loud. Are they just the fans making that noise? Or is it the timing belt?
I test drove a used 2014 with about 32k miles and the thing was quiet loud as well. Its pretty quiet in the cabin but compared to when your outside next to other running cars, these are significantly much louder.
they need to add XM and privacy glass to the S model
One thing you missed is the cruise control, wipers, blinkers ect. Or did I miss it?

+lefty1999 It says 2016 on the window sticker. The 2016 Tiguan is supposed to be the same as 2015.

Ugliest/busiest speedometer I've ever seen. They have the metric numbers in between the others. Very weird. Slight smaller font, but still kind of weird, and would seem annoying.
Wtf was VW Thinking when they made this 14 mpg in the city SUV's get better gas mileage in the city then this thing
They claim it gets 21+ mpg in the city. I haven't heard anyone complaining about fuel economy on this gen before.
If you are getting 14mpg then something is most likely wrong with the vehicle.
