Thanks Rick. And Lou obviously, I really wanted to know the Reliability, I didn’t Realise your videos were so up-to-date.. everyone trashs them motors.. do they deserve it? Okay that hopelessly underpowered, so that will effect its lifespan (plaining vs Displacement) I just wonder if they deserve their reputation? Too early to know? But thank you..
Yes Trev, still a bit early - the instructions say the run-in period should be ten hours and we are only up to five now. Will be able to give better report after that, but so far, so good. Also, think it was important to do the preventative maintenance before firing it up for the first time (thanks UA-cam). BTW, a friend has had one for a while now and likes it.
Hi, new subscriber here. I sail a 1970 Columbia 28’ mast head rigged sloop. I have been thinking of buying the 2 stroke Hangkai 3.6 outboard for my dingy and 14’ aluminum fishing boat’s backup ( it has a 1959 Johnson 18hp .). I have 4 Johnson’s and 1 Evinrude’s from the 1950’s, all running good. Any further thoughts on the little Chinese outboard ? .......Gary in Michigan, U.S.A.
No one wants to spend the money on decent /good quality products, but then, they bitch about the cheap crap they buy not being what they expected or lasting as the better quality stuff does.
Agree, Shane. We are hoping to use this as a spare when I can FINALLY get our Merc up and running (we have spent such a lot of money and time on it, that I am jaded on it.) Met some Poms in Sicily that have three outboards - I think two will do us!
Yeah for the submarine veterans (min 2:08).
Saw it again in this year's parade too
Love the Boxing Kangaroo flying.👍
And I love flying it here in the US!
Lifting bridges are so less stressful lol.
Yes they are but Lou still gets the heebie geebies going under them haha
What dinghy do you have??
Two, Kevin and Kevin 2
i find myself flummoxed by sight and sound displacements. Ah, well....
Yeh when we uploaded it, it was fine, then early this morning (probably when you saw it) that the sound displacement, but seems fine this afternoon.

jeez that motor sounds so underpowered, sounds like a weak whipper snipper.
Rated at 3.6 but I reckon it is in the 2's somewhere, still learning how to use it.
