Well the question is how, not if. So given you already have a product to sell (great food/service/concept) and the business skill to run a business that would make you a compelling investment for someone who has the money (or a restaurant they don’t want to run). So building your resume/skills and network is essential to achieving this goal. If there is no product, experience or money (creatively raised/invested/that includes seller financing) then indeed it is not possible.
@@ChefAlexia I am a big foodie. Restaurants as in business no, but I love trying and testing out all different cultures food and ways. The more rustic the better :-)
You inspire me! I'm working on expanding my small local farmers market business into a small lounge. Where's the second part? B/c I have money just not tons of it
If you own the equipment, if the restaurant is profitable, if you have other assets GET LOANS AGAINST THOSE ASSESTS (that's the easiest way to get money for "no money" you use those assets as collateral (collateral=equipment, car, house etc) HOWEVER YOU WILL BE IN DEBT AND YOUR BUSINESS HAS TO MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO COVER DEBT SERVICE OR You can aquire an already profitable business, go knock some doors. Not going to explain it here but look up Owner Financing. This is typically what people are talking about when they say buy something for 0 down. Here's an example of a restaurant deal that I am interested in. Asking price (just like a home price): $150,000 (this is the money the owner wants) There is something called price and terms, whoever gets their price gets the other person's terms. ^this is the key to you getting a good deal. You're most realistic ideal situation is this: THE SELLER GETS THIER PRICE 1. You get the restaurant for literally no money out of pocket (there may be some lawyer fess and such but tbh there's ways to get most of the legal stuff done for under $1000) 2. You have promised to pay the seller the money that they wanted so their initial cash/asking price in this case 150k BUT YOU WILL PAY IT TO THEM OVER TIME. Her story sounds unique I'd love to get in touch, ma'am I'd love a part 2 thank you for your insight!
Owner financing is also a way! It is very important to make a great deal in the beginning if you have your own concept just finance the equipment in the state they are at so in a way you buy the assets. I would never buy (even if financed) a business unless it was profitable, meaning the concept purchased is profitable. Oftentimes if another owner is selling is because it is NOT profitable, therefore I would never agree on goodwill only assets! I was interested in a deal like that recently but the rent of the location was too high therefore I didn't move forward the owner was giving me his location with no money down and payment of the assets (equipment at a discounted price) within 8 months. there is always a deal you just have to find it and make sure it is financially right for you! Thank you for your comment!

Ok thank you for your comment. The most important is to take action. Some people want to get rid of their restaurants because they can’t take it anymore so you take it and improve it of course by bringing the sales up, that’s how you can have a restaurant with no money down. You will need to invest as you go, as you make money you reinvest. Makes sense now?
i'm opening a restaurant for my uncle... he is down to pay all expenses but im feeling shy and guilty asking too much money to make everything perfect especially the ambiance.. what should i do? this shyness is killing me
Ask exactly what you need for making the restaurant but also for maintaining the restaurant for one year. If he is giving you the money you need to ask for what you need and also that shows confidence in what you are doing. If he says no ask him how much is he willing to invest and calculate your concept from there..meaning build it and have money to maintain according to that budget or get more people involved

You really have to go network, visit stores, talk to owners and make sure you have a great results based resume to show that you can get the job done if you take over You will most likely negotiate to pay over time like seller financing in a way, you can say I will pay for the equipment because I will bring my own concept but I need 3 months or over the next year starting payments in 3 months..to give you some lead time. It’s $0 down not necessarily $0 purchase. Or I will take over the lease immediately, but at least you don’t have to pay the security deposit etc. you can have the person remain a partner..and tell him I will start operating it for you for 50% and you can just collect.. many ways you just have to get creative
