Abhishek started his entrepreneurial journey in 2011, when he built 'GharPay', a platform to let e-commerce companies collect cash payments.
He then started Clinknow, a product in the transaction marketing space with the Gharpay team and investors.
After Ezetap acquired Clink, Abhishek worked as director of products at Ezetap before moving on to his next venture.
He started 'Wise' in 2015, a hardware startup, where their team built two products, but couldn't find a product-market fit, and hence pivoted to an AI started called Bicycle AI.
Bicycle AI applied deep learning and machine learning to automate customer service for companies. The team saw success there but had issues with the working on AI and hence shut it down.
Abhishek started Appsmith in 2019, an open source project that makes it easy to build and maintain custom internal business tools.
It has since raised over $51 Million, and is currently valued at over $250 Million.
Appsmith currently has a team of 140, and their clients are present in every country on the globe.

This felt very authentic, he's not trying to give a lot of gyaan and told about his highs and lows, I love when founders act more humanly, favorite entrepreneur so far and this episode too is now easily my favorite. All the best to him.
Honestly, same here Tamanna. Abhishek is a gem. Really glad you liked the episode - I'm not sure how many people will see or listen to it, but it'll be at the top of my recommendation list if/when people ask me where to begin with BwM 2.0 in the future 🙂 -Caleb
Caleb, this has to be the best piece of content coming out of BwM. Authentic. Keep it coming! We need to hear more people like Abhishek.
Great interview. Abhishek seems like an intelligent, cool-headed and very articulate entrepreneur. It is always great to hear from the present breed of successful Indian entrepreneurs. Thank you, Caleb, for the interview.
Excellent interview. Really great to see an indigenous startup succeed based on giving back to the community. Such a mature and well centred individual..Thankyou
Bro was way ahead of his time😌
I would say that this is one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to.
Hey guys,
I have done the transcript of Abhishek's interview for the book "The Pilani Pioneers" by Gaurav Mandlecha and Durjoy Sethi. That transcribing experience taught me a lot about this great guy. You can find his and many other interviews in the book.
Hi Piyush, let's get in touch. DM me on Twitter, I'm at @caleb_friesen2 -Caleb

Loved this episode. I had the honour of meeting Abhishek through my brother who works with him. Great product and company.
Hi Janardhan!
Didnt know How 40 minutes passed by ! Really Engaging Story !
Great interview! Need more of these!!
At the end of the video, when he spoke about board games, I realised I have played board games with Abhishek (and his sister) back in 2015. Such a humble fellow and a great journey.
thanks for bringing this caleb very insightful and inspirational
Great interview, very inspiring and real.
One of the best podcasts❤
One of the few videos I care to comment , really awesome man !!

Usually I don't comment, but this podcast is just commendable🎉
Make these convo 2 hours long!
Best one !
❤
The interviews are good but also bring back the weekly news videos.
This was awesome but one thing what made his journey easy was at the time he started things there wasnt competition in indian market , now even though we build attitude like him we have to face 100x struggles than him
👍
Is appsmith better than retool
"Games n porn" Sounds like a plan chief.
