I have a Yamaha f150 and the owners manual recommends a different method of flushing the engine and no need for the muffs. There is a little hose on the left side at the bottom of the cowling you unscrew it and attach the hose to it. No need to start the engine.
Same, I have the F75.... However, unless you are flushing it immediately after you get off the water, I'd suggest still doing this method to ensure that the thermostat is open and you're flushing the pump internals too... Not just the pipework.

Sadly all the damage is done to boats /trailers while they’re fermenting at the ramp after being launched all day.
That the way most of us do it. But how do you clean the stinking fish gut, blood, slime and salt out of the floor carpet?
