I loooove my XSR900! You're right about A mode sounding different, it's "growlier". In A mode it seriously tries to send you off the back. It's a fantastic bike with an AMAZING motor.

Love your reviews. By the way (from the manual):
TCS “1” minimizes traction control system assist.
TCS “2” maximizes traction control assist; wheel spin is most strongly controlled.

CagerOnTwoWheels considering my favorite song is on there... One... sorry but not for my choice. The only album I've ever heard of any band... and that comes from a person that listens to everything from AC/DC (not Axl) to Zombie, BB King to Zepplin, Credence to Yes, Barry White to Anthrax... Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Sammie Davis Jr... Slipknkot, Tool, Stone Sour, Pink Floyd... The list is huge... Anyways the only album I've ever found that'd I'd listen to EVERY SONG on it is Reload.

TC setting #2 is more intrusive. That's why the TC light comes on in TC #2 when the front wheel starts to lift up. TC setting #1 will allow wheelies and the TC light will not come on.

One of the reviews that helped me to make my decision to buy this motorcycle.
And I do have a smile from
ear to ear when I ride this sexy beast! :)
There is just something indescribably attractive about this particular machine!!!
It doesn’t matter if it’s not a 200hp machine that can do 360km ph,the bike should make you feel good and excited and cool and ( just a little scared for good measure ) while you ride it and this one certainly does :)
The 115 hp of that triple engine that are squeezed into a pretty short rev range pull you like a steam train from the very bottom and I love that feeling !!! :)
    Wish I could
    Afford more then one
    Of those :)

10:51, that exact moment when CagerOnTwoWheels went crazy!!! That was very cool! 😃
Great review as usual 👍🏻 As for the bike, the front looks (IMO) a bit better than the MT-09, but it still seems that the Yamaha engineers were too busy to develop an awesome engine, so they were short of time for finishing the design... 😉 But it's a fantastic bike anyway!

The best way to tell how well a bike does is not by what the person says. ..its how long they laugh for and how much they keep cranking the throttle..the xsr did very well on the ride id say.

  • @UncleDon226

Lemmy from RevZilla said it best "Take a look at a dyno sheet for one of these. It's not even a torque curve, it's like a torque table top. So flat. But here's the thing; from 0-2500 rpm, torque climbs straight up. It looks like a wall. Then it gets to about 60-65 foot pounds and that's where it stays all the way out to the redline"

Funny thing, even tho this bike is more expensive than the MT-09 it would be about 30% cheaper for me to insure the XSR900. Same engine, pretty much the same technological level, yet much cheaper to insure. How does that makes sense?

The full Akra on this bike sounds really nice like even better than the MT-10/09 imo @_@

    • @T.K.9
      @T.K.9 7 років тому

ElCoco1984 I am pretty sure they "liked" the MT-10 not because of the exhaust sound or because it doesn't "sound" boring.
Both bikes with full akra exhaust are still music to the ears.
They like the MT-10 over the MT-09 because of the price, and it has better looks and characteristics. By Characteristics it means how it rides, handles, the torque etc.
Never heard of the term "Sounds boring" from a reviewer.. 99% of bikers love the sound of a good aftermarket exhaust even me. But nobody buy's a bike just because they want a very rare unique specific one of a kind exhaust sound... (well maybe there's one filthy rich guy who would like that preference).
If you like the MT-10 then thats good I like it too. But you don't need to go around subliminally trying to point out that your MT-10 is master race and other people should not like other bikes other than the MT-10.
      just saying.

Nice bike. Lots of power for it' size, but it's to small for me and would be uncomfortable on a trip of two hours or more. In my age I've settled for a Kawasaki cruiser. Not as powerful as the XSR900, but will take me anywhere I want to go in comfort.

I'm sure it's a great bike, but I don't care for it's looks. I'll stick with what I have, a'97 Blackbird. I've also gotten used to full fairings and the wind and rain protection they give, it's just great, I don't want to feel like a piece of plywood again at 70 mph. Great bike though for those who like snakes!

I am not a crazy rider, i will never push it as it's limit, but i like that extra power it has. Do you think that in B mode it will be confy and not scary as fuck (at least for the first time)? I've seen you had not problems using it in B.
