Dodge Challenger Tire Swap from 245's to 275's

  • I finally decided to swap out these dangerous 245 tires, on the rear, to 275's. There was very little traction with the 245's. It was difficult to control the car and they didn't hook up to the pavement. The car got real squirrely. I wasn't able to unleash the true performance of this car so, I had to do something about it.
    I had 275/30R20's installed and I couldn't be happier. The car hooks to the road and now I can get the feel for the immense power this car can deliver.
    I highly recommend replacing the 245's on your car if you have them. It's not worth wrapping your car around a tree. Plus, you'll have the enjoyment of getting the most out of your Challenger.

    Are your rear wheels 20x8 or 20x9?. I got a set of brand new 275/40/20's sitting in the garage, but my 2011 came with 20x8 wheels and I hear that you can't go wider than a 265 tire.

    2015 300s...245/45/20....do the 275's have a lower side profile? I was told wider will mean a lower profile and won't fill in the wheel well as much. 🤔

    • @revvdup8526
      @revvdup8526  Рік тому

      Yes, that is true. The 275's are a lower profile tire. However, I don't think the gap in the wheel well is really noticeable. Lowering springs or airbag shocks could be an option for you. Check my video out again and you'll see if the gap isn't to your liking.

      @@revvdup8526 Whoa, whoa, Whoa ! I'm not so sure about that big guy. 275 (width) 40 (sidewall height) 20 (tire diameter) i dont think going to a wider tire is going to lower your profile unless you choose to do so.for example 275/ 35/ 20 is going to give you a lower profile, the middle number is the profile height and like my neighbors wife says, size does matter !! So enjoy your neighbor, i mean your tires. 😊😊😊

    Sweet car you got there.
    My son just got his 13’ black top edition which has 20x9 wheels.
    It currently has 275/40R20 in the back and 245/45R20 in the front. He likes this stagger and width but wants a little meatier side wall. These are 28” tall tires and was trying to find info on putting a 29” tall tire under this car but can’t find any info because everyone seems to be doing the low profile tires these days.
