It was designed to be so: it was the sign of a power that affirmed its supremacy over all existing powers. It was designed to be the next vault / exhibition hall of the most precious relics of Christ himself: his crown of thorns. This object had stayed in Constantinople for centuries but after the sack of the city in 1204, it left the eastern Roman capital and was bought - at a staggering price - by Louis, king of France. No one, not the archbishop of Paris, not even the Pope could rival such a strong symbol. And Louis knew that he had to get a palatial chapel that would match the palatial chapel of the old Grand Palace in Constantinople, now in ruins. Hence this building that was a true marvel of its time and stays, even today, a place like no place else. La Saint Chepelle put Paris on the map of Christian world. Any people visiting Paris should visit it, especially during a sunny day. It is breathtaking.
@@AreHan1991 it certainly is! My first time there it was a stormy day outside and quite empty. As my family, my former French foreign exchange sister and I walked out into the upper chapel we were all spiritually, visually and emotionally overwhelmed by the indescribable beauty, and we all began to cry. It helped too that Medieval French religious music was playing softly in the background. It was truly heaven on earth.
Thanks for the breakdown! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). How can I transfer them to Binance?
They never talk about how they built so high with heavy stone such as how did they raise it and the scaffolding they built to do it.
I went there in 2018. The sainte chapelle is more beautiful and impressive than Notre Dame.

@@manuelatreideagreed! It is my favorite place in Paris.
@@manuelatreide very interesting. Thanks
A Saint Chapelle é incompleta, Notre Dame é mais bonita, porém o interior é bem mais bonito na Saint Chapelle
Very interesting about the use of iron. I’ve been, it’s stunning!

Saint-Louis (1226-70) was Louis the 9th, not the 4th.

Don't forget While that was being built, people were starving to death...
There were inded famines in the middle ages, but not necessarily when the chapel was built.
⚠️Since when TF is Paris the heart of Europe⁉️ Ain't even the heart of an artichoke! Even the french hate it!
