I don't think people realize how good Johnny could be for the USMNT. He may have struggled in some of his early US appearences, but he has quality and a skillset that could significantly benefit the team tactically. His development curve at the club level has been solid, he just needs to keep doing what he's been doing in terms of trajectory
I am a SC Inter fan and I confirm that Johnny had a solid improvment in 2023. He is our first choice defensive midfielder and has helped us a lot to move forward in Copa Libertadores.
Liking what I see after only knowing of his underwhelming Olympics performance. Seeing above average first step quickness, athleticism, fast execution in tight space under pressure.
Not only because I'm a Brazilian-American, and not only because I was born in Porto Alegre and still follow SC Internacional, so I see Johnny play several times a week, but I definitely think he's a guy that can play that holding mid role really well with Tyler Adams. Tyler is a phenomenal defensive mid, but I think Johnny can be a bigger threat going forward. I think if Gregg plays them together they could be a dynamic duo that would make it very difficult for teams to attack through the middle, and they both have the pace to help start quick counters, which the US can always use more of
--> 0:28 & 3:06 - When you've really gotten under the skin of an opponent. 😆 I hope the ref came back to give the yellow. --> He's sooo slick at anticipating and sticking his foot in, usually for a deflection that turns into a pass. --> Speaking of slick, 2:01. 😮 --> Thanks for posting these!

Underrated player
Rooting for them in Copa Libertadores. The USA needs some Jogo Bonito on the field.

Belated thanks for making this
Has the potential to be one of our best midfielders, hopefully he goes to Europe soon.
Que fique no Inter por bastante tempo
El año que viene estará en el betis
Currently the best back up for Adam’s in the USMNT in the holding midfield position.
Liking what I see. I think he could be a good possible backup to Adams for the US.
so many good tackles and key passes amirite

His game reminds me of Jorginho a little bit
