    Great video. I feel the Battleship Texas Foundation has missed out on a great opportunity to promote the Texas, unlike the Battleship New Jersey who has videos of talking about what they're doing, the BT foundation has done very little, (Video wise). Your videos which are very good are the only way we really get decent updates. I think they get upset at you because you're outperforming them. Keep up the great work.

      I do feel like there’s something missing here. I mean, the foundation has been just fine with guys like Ryan Szimanski and Drachinifel coming down to film.

      @Norbrookc Місяць тому +5

      Agreed! Somany other of the museum ships are taking advantage of the reach of UA-cam and other social media to reach out and educate the public about their efforts. Battleship Texas Foundation seems to feel that keeping people informed about what's happening with the ship isn't all that important. If it weren't for your videos or the occasional visit from Ryan or Drach, it'd be pretty hard to get any updates on the ship.

      Its embarrassing how bad their social media presence is. If its a budget issue, Id bet they could get volunteers to do it or maybe a university audio video class could take it on as a project.

    • @F-Man
      @F-Man Місяць тому +7

      Agreed. New Jersey survived 2020 and got to dry dock because of all the interest they’ve built via their UA-cam presence. You’d think that would have been a lesson to all museum ships.

    • @dougc190
      @dougc190 Місяць тому +5

      Agree 100%. I don't think the battleship foundation even knows how to do UA-cam even though they said they were going to during the dry dock. Third parties have been the ones keeping us up to date on all this.

    You're doing a great service for us historians. The foundation's concern is that you are releasing all the glory of the battleship before the foundation itself has a chance to market its ticket sales.

    I for one , think the videos you make is making the foundation look bad. They are uncooperative to you because you are doing something that they didn’t think of or didn’t know how to do. We all are behind you and thank you for these beautiful and informative videos. As for any danger to workers, that is absurd, and shows ignorance on their part. Keep up the good work👍👍

    The ship on which my Grandfather served aboard, PC-564 which was a Subchaser Class was stationed very close to the USS Texas off the coast of Normandy on D Day and the days following. I have some pictures of her firing in support of the Rangers at Point Du Hoc on 6 and 7 June, 1944 taken by a member of her crew. My Grandfather didn't arrive aboard until September of 1944, but was present for the German Raid on the port of Granville, France in March of 1945, He was unfortunately killed in action on that night. I am writing a book about PC-564 in which I will include mention of the USS Texas, truly a grand lady who fought with distinction at Normandy and also off the coast of Cherbourg, which she engaged German coastal batteries and were she sustained some damage and suffered some casualties as well. I am glad to see that she is being looked after. Praying for South East Texas during her hurricane trials.

    I thoroughly love your update videos of the Texas. Rarely if ever have i seen any videos from the 'Foundation'. You'd think they'd want as much coverage as possible from a safe and reliable videographer as you appear to be. Maybe they believe they might be a bit 'Lofty' for all of us peons out here. Stay Safe and hope your roof damage is taken care of soon. Until Next Time.

    My understanding is the two guns still on board were restored previously and didn't need to be removed for restoration. The people behind the battleship take a lot of photos and post updates on their facebook page, but they don't have anyone doing a lot of video work. To my understanding, there is a documentary of some sort being filmed, but I'm not sure who is doing it. I think the main people are not super comfortable on camera, and well, are also rather busy. In all fairness to them, in Ryan's old videos on New Jersey, you can tell he wasn't used to it and was a bit nervous.

    Fyi just my THOUGHTS! I love this and I think I understand why they may dislike you doing this. Its like doing double work but one person getting all the credit. If they were going to do what you just did. Now they cant because people have already wstched it and liked from your page. Now thats going to take away from them likes and subscribers! Which if this is the case. They should either give you access pass to the ship in payment would be getting content and adding to there page. Or pay you and do the samething. It could be like created content for someone. I sent them the original. Then i cut out and created my own little video. That way people arent seeing the same video twice. If that makes sense. Nevertheless; keep doing what you doing. Best case is; you're HELPING bring more people and attention to the ship. Equals more funding for them! Free labor from you technically speaking.

    ether they have been restored or left on for that later on "oh crap moment " when they put the next gun set on it.
    and to the philistines at Battleship Texas Foundation need to get with the time and understand a website is a hopeless media to get them out there, if not Ryan Szimanski and battleship new jersey youtube channel many wouldn't even have know that Battleship Texas was going into dry dock and the Drone flyby have given more info on the work going on than that poor designed website.
    the battleship Texas may have been born in the 1900s, but your mind set doesn't need to be there.

Just seeing’s her brings back memories. Don’t know why the visitation committee is having a cow over videos. There’s nothing like being there, going inside the ship. Which you go down but 2 decks cause of water damage and that was mid 70’s. I can give you the main reason, REVENUE LOSS! Worried they are gonna miss a dollar. If anything it’ll bring dollars, hell it’s free advertising! Again Thanks

    I think they would like the UA-cam revenue from the video's of the restoration to help offset their expenses. Why would they support your channel for your benefit. If you are concerned about the Texas, donate all the funds you make off your channel associated with the USS Texas less expenses. If you don't, then your typical UA-cam producer, you gain not the USS Texas.

    BB35 is lookin’ good🫡🇺🇸. I ‘ll never understand why foundations and the like, are so hostile and obstinant towards, us, the supporters of the restoration of this great lady. As stated in another post below, the USS New Jersey restoration project is actively promoting the restoration of BB-62 with frequent videos, updates and so on.
