I am an ESL teacher, and I was familiar with your videos addressing low-level grammar structures, which I recommended to my beginning-level students often. They love your patience and clarity with material that often is so confounding to them.
I am presently reviewing videos for higher-level grammar for my Intermediate Writing class. I was disappointed to find so many videos from other instructors full of errors and misconceptions that created confusion on the part of the student. Then I ran across your video! You show the same clarity and patience with the more complex information. I feel confident that your presentation will be openly welcomed by the students. Thanks so much for your tireless efforts to make English accessible to non-native speakers of English! You do a wonderful job of it!
Hi Sandra. I'm always very happy to hear from other ESL teachers. Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. I'm glad this video may be a resource for your upper level students. Here are all my UA-cam playlists. www.englishwithjennifer.com/students/yt-videos/ I have a lot of intermediate and advanced lessons. I do my best to get things right, especially with grammar. I consult my favorite books and see what else I can find online from reputable sites. I've also been known to reach out to my colleagues, a few of whom have published much more than I have! Some of my doubts and frustrations end up becoming blog posts. englishwithjennifer.wordpress.com/ There's a whole category called Student Stumpers. Happy teaching to you!
I confused with all explanations, but I understand the examples, and when I see the chart of differents clauses I Think I understand much more.in this lesson we have much information to learn by heart. thank you for all your effort with us.

An excellent teacher in teaching English Grammer!
Thank you! 😃
This lesson was right up my street as I love the lessons encouraging creative writing. I am also quite interested in that game with the blocks. I have visions of the blocks scattering all over the place and anger growing when they do.
We played so many games of Jenga when the kid were younger.
Of course, it's good to develop our grammar skills. Thank you, Jennifer. ✌👍
You're welcome, as always. :) Have a wonderful weekend!

You're very welcome. Have a great week! See on Thursday/Friday for a new lesson. :)
REALLY WONDERFUL...!!! One of my passion, maybe the most one, was to be able to memorize and understand all about grammar and writing correctly. even in my one matter language, that is Portuguese. I am so proud of your lesson. God bless you and your family and ministry so much.
With practice, the grammar structures will become more familiar. Be sure to read and listen regularly to good models.
Corrections to help your studies:
One of my passions, maybe the strongest one, has been to memorize and understand everything about using grammar and writing correctly. This is true even in my native language (mother tongue), which is Portuguese.
Thanks Jennifer for this video

You're welcome, Sena.
Thank you, Jennifer, for this accurate lesson!
I have not understood the difference between adjective clause ( or relative clause) with relative adverbs like when, where, why, and some adverb clauses using when or where too.
I guess the difference is very subtle...
You can go back to that earlier lesson on adjective clauses with those words (when, where, why). They're less common than those with which, who, and that. When you review, feel free to post your own examples for practice. Look at what others wrote too.
That's very helpful thank you so much for sharing 🙏❤️
You are so welcome!
Thank You so Much iam studying English now and you helped me a lot in grammar and written Expression thankyou a lot Sister
You're very welcome.
Thank you, this was so clear. Weird how I've never heard of this concept, until I started to learn another language.

Clear explanations. Thank you. Could you please show us how to write an analytical essay about language / language history?
Hello. I may address essay writing at some point on UA-cam, but mostly I address writing skills in the context of private lessons. My Patreon group classes have focused on writing skills, but not essays yet. I cover what the group votes on.
it help me a lot during lock down time its really helpful thanks

Despite the lack of time, whoever can learn English following your lessons! I wish I could master this beautiful language that is changing the world to communicate wherever I go. Thank you!
You're welcome Antonio. You'll get there. :) It's important to build good clauses to get clear sentences. Here are my suggestions:
Despite the lack of time, anyone can learn English following your lessons! (If you want to use "whoever," you might say: Anyone, whoever they may be, can learn English following your lessons.)
I wish I could master this beautiful language that is changing how I communicate wherever I go. OR ...how we communicate wherever we go.
After reading my grammar book and looking up in the dictionary, I just can't figure out the different usage of anyone and whoever, because in this case in Italian they're both translated with the same word ("chiunque"), so it's a bit confusing. How could I avoid mistakes? Thank you, Jennifer.
Thank you so much!👍
My pleasure.
Love it❤ thanks Jennifer

I just found you on UA-cam. Your explanation was really clarifying. I was wondering if you can make a video dealing with gaps in noun clauses. Thank you a lot!
Hi. Can you please give me an example of what you mean?
By the way, here are all my playlists. www.englishwithjennifer.com/students/yt-videos/
@@Englishwithjennifer I've just started to go through the topic, so i can't find a proper way of explaining myself, because in fact, I don't quite get it. As far as I understand, a gap is the location of the missing constituent in the relative clause. All relative clauses have a missing constituent corresponding in meaning to the head noun, according to the book. (Longman, Studen Grammar of Spoken and Written English, Pearson Education, 2002) Thank you so much for replying my message!
Ma'am you are the best...

What an amazing lesson Jennifer!
There is also what is called embedded clauses , which I searched for in your channel, but I couldn't find. These are clauses inside other clauses that help us add complexity to the sentence and help in the reading sections , they're rather tricky though. for example, we could have an adverb clause within a noun clause.
I came across this sentence that has embedded clauses:
This is supported by a recent study conducted at Oxford University, in which they claim *that **_as china increasingly imports varieties of edible items from different countries via air transport, the level of carbon dioxide rises sharply_* and that, inevitably , more chines people are suffering from asthma.
there is an adverb clause staring with as , as china increasingly imports .. etc inside the noun clause starting with That, which is object to the verb *claim* and the whole thing is part of the noun clause..
Indeed, grammar can be quite complex! I usually focus on embedded questions (noun clauses with WH words). I have a few videos on that topic.

Hi Jennifer, thank you for the wonderful lesson! I learned a lot from you, only one thing is confusing for me. In the list of subordinate conjunctions, you have included "where". I had encountered a similar question before, but have no idea how to use it. Could you give an example to demonstrate how to use it, please?
Hi. "Where" can help us build an adverb clause: I'll go where you want to go.
"Where" can help us build a noun clause: I don't know where to go. (where I should go)
"Where" can be like a relative pronoun (though it's more accurate to call it a relative adverb): That's the town where she grew up.
All those clauses with "where" are subordinate clauses.
@@Englishwithjennifer Thank you so much for the detailed explanations. My teacher gave an example: He kissed the girl where they first met. I feel something wrong with the sentence. If it is wrong, can I correct it as: He kissed the girl in a place where they first met. Thank you!
