The 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron Is A Nicely Upgraded Midsize Luxury Electric SUV

  • When the original #Audi #etron came to market back in 2018, it was an electric vehicle that put luxury first over range. For 2024, the #AudiQ8etron replaces the e-tron and takes its positioning in the electric family as the flagship EV SUV for Audi. The #Q8etron may ride on a different platform versus the gas powered #AudiQ8, but the interior feels every bit as luxurious and compared to rivals that look and feel like spaceships, this #ElectricSUV feels more like a traditional car that just happens to be electric.

Happy Weds everyone! While other electric luxury SUV's scream I'm an EV to the world, the revised Q8 e-tron looks and feels like a regular gas-powered Q8 that has simply gone electric. While its range and performance may still trail some rivals, we really appreciate the tastefully restrained style of this car! Hoping we can get our hands on the upcoming SQ8 e-tron version next to test out its triple electric motor setup!

This has to be one of the best automobile reviews I've ever seen on UA-cam! Awesome job! I own the 2023 e-tron SUV and love it, it's very similar to this 2024 that you reviewed. I also am experiencing less overall real-world mileage, not typically getting the 226 miles of range on the window sticker, even with climate control off and no cargo or passengers. One thing I didn't hear you talk about was the 2024 is supposed to have self-parking? Is that not available yet or? Thanks again for an awesome review!

Thanks for the review! My thoughts on making the review more useful for viewers:
    - 0-60 seems silly to mention in a luxury car not marketed as a sports car, when it's below 6 seconds. I'd argue it just doesn't matter to people's daily life over the long term. Whiplash is not luxury.
    - Also, cargo capacity vs. the sportback is less but nobody ever stacks stuff up to the roof. In fact, it's incredible dangerous to do so. The usable space - the depth and width - are the same.

The biggest issue is that it isn't based on an event platform, so it still has added weight from a transmission tunnel, housing for a drive shaft, redundant structural measures (where the battery could serve as the structure). I love so many things about my 2023 E-Tron chronos edition, like the bang and olefson sound system, the adoptive cruise control and lane keep assist that basically drives the car automatically by keeping your hand on the steering wheel. The massaging seats are not to be underestimated, I turn them on from the moment I get in the car until the moment I get out and my front passenger, if I have one loves that feature as well. Also love the wireless Android auto that shows real time Google maps with traffic, accident info and speed traps on the display and announces them as well as alternate routes to save time on the fly.
The windows are so soundproof you don't hear any freeway noise even when driving at 70 mph. It's the most comfortable and luxurious vehicle I've ever been in with the ambient lighting and the adaptive headlights that automatically display a light show whenever I approach my vehicle. It's a show stopper! This is so much more luxurious than the Tesla's and it looks like a normal SUV, not an electric vehicle from the future like so many others.

The exterior looks are 99% the same, interior is identical, the performance/power is the same, ride quality and noise isolation is excellent on both model with adaptive air suspension etc. New model claims 300 miles on a charge, old model claims 255 miles on a single charge (both of which would only be achievable in perfect conditions). You ever done a road trip in a Model Y? It's both too stiff and bouncy, very loud road noise. Overall the Model Y feels cheap for what it costs.

Yawn, its still a silly ICE car design. For one it has an ICE car grill. Second, the range is pathetic. If you want to sell more electric cars give them a longer range. I ignore everything completely with less than 300 miles. Real interest come at 400 mi.
That way, you can drive all day without range anxiety. Meaning the time behind the wheel will exhaust the driver before it does the car. Hopefully, more hotels/motel will start to offer power stations so car can be refueled while you rest/sleep.
The only pro of this car is that is still has a panoramic sunroof that opens, and a real spare tire. Which is likely a result of it being built on an ICE platform not one dedicated specifically for EV (which hopeful will design in enough space for a real spare tire. Especially if its an off-road EV.

What a joke! 285 mile range??? and does that include having the AC, the radio and using any electrical outlets? I don't think so! So basically it will probably hit 225 miles before it needs a full charge again. When is Audi going to come up with a e-tron that has at least a 425 mile range?

I would not buy this model the new upcoming q6 is a much better vehicle because it is a dedicated electric frame better range far better displays better charging. I hope it comes out with vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle to home charging as well.
