    Pro tip, in case you want to do something with a board like that again. Get two of those boards and put one over the other connecting them with a bungee cable, then on the end close to you make a loop around the end with paracord or rope and pull the rope tight and hang it down to the rocks behind you securing the rope tight. Its best if you tie with the middle of the rope and tie those two ends in a triangle position to make more support and make sure its nice and tight. On the end closest to you it will be nice and stable since you will have two secure points, the two boards will keep it so it wont bow as much and it will be less likely that it slides and you fall. You are essentially making a simple drawbridge and its very easy to setup and take down and will work even in the rain.

    • @mr.tryhardguitarguy2842
      @mr.tryhardguitarguy2842 3 роки тому

      To edit, in this case you could have made those two secure rope points into anchors under the rock you were on.

    Sculpin comes from the ancient Greek σκόρπαινα (skórpaina) meaning scorpion. It was absorbed into Latin (scorpena) and eventually into French and English as scorpion in modern times. Spanish conquerors named the fish with the obsolete sailor term for fish that stung or were poisonous, "escorpión" and now in English - Sculpin. On the other side of the Americas, Portuguese sailors called these "stinger" fish, escorpião (basically escorpione) and cemented the term across the continent.

    In case you drop from that bridge, you'd have much better chance of survival if you are wearing a life jacket, which is a legal requirement here for rock fishermen in Australia, stay safe, mate.

    Great video as always. The way you handle a fish really shows that you use barbed hooks though, the moment I can reach a fish with my grubby little hands, I hold on for dear life.

    I only catch small fish or none at all, you are so real Matt.. You don't buy fish from the groceries and put it on your hook. Catch nothing is no problem!

    You come back from a bum foot and immediately start risking yourself again. You're a champ, but be careful. You have way more fishing stuff to teach us. That all said, great video!

    Ever try using spikes or cleats for rocky areas that you fish? A lot of angler down south use them for fishing the jetties

    Just like the west coast of Vancouver Island Canada , we could catch all the Salmon species and various types of Rock fish and Ling Cod from the rocky out crops ,
