Companies have tried "small cars" before & failed... E2O & Nano are 2 examples. Ok Mahindra did not try to sell E2O... but still after 2 decades it was nowhere close to Alto sales. *There is NO SUCH THING as an AFFORDABLE CAR* ... just like elephants cannot be affordable... at least you need a stable ... Oops parking space to park it... also even the smallest repair or part change will be expensive... so it's not for the "common man" whether electric or CNG or petrol or diesel ... *Cars are cars and will cost you money.* You also need the guts to bear... if it gets an ugly scratch on its side... or a bump on its fender or bonnet... If you are gonna have a heart attack for such things cars are not for you. Bikes/scooters can be dropped multiple times a day and the user will not feel a thing... If the rear light is broken... his ego is not hurt. It's like real estate... It's impossible trying to make a premium flat in 100sqft... It's not impossible but you cannot please the owner... even after giving him Best italian tiling, floor-to ceiling & wall+to-wall windows, Jaguar sanitaryware & selling it at even 20lakhs in say Miraroad.... It's great value for money... But won't serve mass market. *A small car in India CANNOT & SHOULD NOT go below the size of ALTO* . *They will also find it difficult to get funding from VCs* ... Even if they buy up all the old Alto/WagonR/Omni and refurbish it and retro fit it into a NEW EV with premium leather interiors, LED interior with mood lighting, JBL speakers, 7inch Touch screen tablet ... will be a very easy & excellent project... and very cost effective. Why are we ReInventing the wheel?... Take a standard product in the market and make a better product at a lower price... Formula to be successful... Like Ola proved it. If smaller cars would have been successful it would have already been successful in Petrol/diesel. Using Chinese yardstick in India will not always work... Similarly US standards (big engines... big huge hummer size SUVs) too will not work... Due to the batteries the price of an EV will not be successful if dropped below 10L and not above 20L. *NexonEV hits the PERFECT sweet spot being a SUV at 15L* Even Tesla will not be able to sell more than Nexon... *If their production speed is same.* ... Right now NexonEV speed of production is very, very slow... and purposely kept slow. *The PROBLEM IN INDIA is...NO ENOUGH Electric Cars in the market.* It's not a question of small car or big car... there is not enough eCars to meet the demand... *Ola will be the THE DONALD BRADMAN when it launches eCars* and it will eat Tata, Maruti & Hyundai Motors for breakfast, Lunch & dinner. Best option for those who want Ev for their small family and don't want dependency on charging points. Range is good for highways. Solar charging , sun roof are its USP.

But it make sense when they are on both sides .. overall car look is awesome and it is a production intent car so amaze to see. Also it seems that it is provided intentionally to make ingress egress for rear passenger easy.

Always good but prices are too expensive always.. So rate factor is important... It is made for middle class people where price should be less if luxury is even less...
@@MohitKumar-nc6kt yeah but running cost of alto is far more and especially when someonce is buying used one. Also IC engines car has more service cost so this seems to be better option. Now a days we have a battery warranty of 8 years as well. Its cool then :)

Chinese car makers will beat you on price* ... bet any category you make... they will make cheaper car. *You need to play a game which the Chinese don't play.* Eg Hub motors Vs Middrive motors in eScooters. You cannot make a hubmotor scooter at a price below Chinese scooter and give better quality. *Fortunately China does not make as many Middrive vehicles...so a company like Ather & Ola survived this long* *This is true in any CHINESE product... You cannot compete with Chinese... Just find their game & avoid copying it.* Else just become a Chinese product distributor like so many "make in India" eScooter makers in India. I said make in India... Not Made in India. Actually India can do in Agriculture what China did in manufacturing... India Govt needs to bear little loss for just 1 to 3yrs... Buy Organic produce at double MSP & export at just Rs10. In 3 yrs no country will bother to grow crops, fruits & vegetable and buy from India. Then we can slowly increase price. Import duty on Indian veggies priced Rs10 will be nothing great. We can give the same lecture US gives "feeding the world healthy food at low price". GMO seeds & produce will closedown automatically. This is VERY EASILY possible... while what China did in Manufacturing in last decade is truly unmatchable in comparison.
