Thank you. No one asked Naughty Dog for this overly ambitious multiplayer. Everyone I know who was interested in a Last of Us 2 multiplayer, just wanted an updated version of the first factions with maybe some new gameplay and modes.
This failed because they couldn't figure out how to milk their players for more money with an ongoing "live service". I'm glad it crashed and burned.
Maybe they should have taken the people they had remaking/remastering barely 5 year old games and used them to actually make a multiplayer mode.

Happy birthday! I hope that this news makes more companies think twice before investing all their money into live services. People only have enough time and money to dedicate to one, maybe two live services, and yet every company is putting all their eggs in that basket. Reminds me a lot of when everyone was trying to make an MMO a decade ago. But sadly this is an industry that barely learns anything.
I think now is the time to play that El Presador laugh as well as Hard 8's laugh.
There are two things that Naughty Dog is good at: Remastering and Porting long-existing games, and cancelling new ones. They don't do any new games even for existing IPs.
Fitting name for Naughty Dog to have the word "Naughty" in their name because for a long while they have been on the NAUGHTY LIST! I am better off without them anyway.
You would think companies would learn from 'The Day Before' but it looks like Naughty Dog wants to do the same thing.

Naughty Dog quailty of standards is almost identical to Bluepoint studios. Sticking with remastering and remaking games. Since Neil Drunkman took over as co-president of Naughty Dog they've been going backwards in terms of output. Hate to see it.

The online for the ps4 multi-player still has a hefty fan base (as of May 2023 over 4 million players)
That's incredibly low especially since the game has been out for 0ver 10 years now. Hell freaking Sea of Thieves has a bigger multiplayer following and Halo Infinite got 30 million in under two years.

As a primarily PS4 gamer, I haven't got a PS5 yet and not really all that motivated to get one. Honestly, Sony is looking more and more like how Microsoft was during the Xbox One years when not many games were coming out and many games were getting delayed and cancelled. There are plenty of games on PS4 I still want to play. So I'm content to play on my PS4 and Switch on the side.

Only Naughty Dog games I played are Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection and Uncharted 4. Haven't played Last Of Us or anything else. Uncharted was fun, but I'm very reluctant to play the first Last Of Us remastered on ps4. By the way Happy Birthday, B0nd and Merry Christmas!👍🎄

I really don’t get why Sony charges more for PSN when they aren’t gonna even bother with releasing any decent multiplayer games. Honestly wtf are we getting on PSN? A buggy microtransaction filled racer like GT7 with notoriously unstable online servers? Because that’s the only online multiplayer thing Sony has given us since the PS5 came out. Unless you like that Destruction All-Star garbage that didn't even last half of a week before it died out.
Even Microsoft does a way better job at multiplayer than Sony. Halo Infinite gets played more in a day than Factions gets played in months.
They only should have a basic tier with just free online

The fact that TLOU 2 didn't do anywhere they inspected in total sales. It got outsold by Ghost and many ppl returned the game. It sold slowly in stores similar to what Death Stranding was when it came out the first couple years. Not completely surprising Factions 2 got canceled and ND or Sony are being more cautious with what they put out in the future. ND has made really good MPs though. Sony definitely makes better MP games than Microfail.
