Journey was one of my favorite bands in high school! I graduated in 1983. My first high school dance I slow-danced to "Lights" with my boyfriend, who is now my husband of almost 41 years! Please react to that one!
The guitarist is Neal Schon and he is a fantastic musician. The lead singer is absolutely superb and was the key ingredient that brought Journey to the forefront of the music world.
You need to hear them live. Steve says a live audience always takes him to a higher level that he can't get to in a studio. BTW, the outtakes of this video are priceless 😂. You could tell they were tired and OVER IT by the end of the day. It's fun to watch.
Saw them in concert 1983 in Arizona and Bryan adams was the opening act cuts like a knife but it feels so right excellent love when a group sounds just like their album
Other great bands are Kansas "Dust in the Wind", Toto "Rains in Africa" just to name a couple bands and their songs! I remember skating to this song😂😂❤❤❤
"As of December 2008, it was reported to have been the sixth highest certified 'greatest hits' package in the United States according to the RIAA, behind only similar collections by the Eagles, Billy Joel, Elton John, and the Beatles' red and blue compilations. It continues to be one of the most popular 'best of' packages, at times selling close to 500,000 copies globally per year." I saw them once at Day on the Green Oakland, CA in the 1983. Awesome!
Thank you for your reactions to Journey with Steve Perry! You haven't even begun to scratch the surface of the many, many iconic songs that Steve Perry, pianist Jonathan Cain and guitarist Neal Schon wrote together. Live concert performances are amazing, no auto tune and they sound as great as studio recordings. "Mother Father" is a big hit favorite live in Houston the Escape Tour 1981. "I'll Be Alright With Out You" from the Raised on Radio tour. "When You Love A Woman" was nominated for a grammy. Steve Perry is called The Voice, because of his phenomenal vocals. You will absolutely love this band!
Other uptempo Journey: "Only the Young," "Stone in Love," "Wheel in the Sky," and "Separate Ways." Live - "Mother, Father," "Still They Ride," "Don't Stop Believin'." Great reaction! 🙂❤
I was born in 76 so you might think I would prefer the 90s, but no. I love 80s music the best to this day. The funny thing is that my son was born in 97 and as a young mom I played a lot of my favorite music around him. He also plays 80s music more than anything else now and he's in his mid 20s.
This song was conceived a bit earlier than 1980 after the band met with Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy, who suggested a song with a verse and then a guitar to answer it. Just before, their original Fromtman, Robert Fleischman left the band. Yes, there was someone there before Perry, who was and still is awesome. Please check out that name with Journey 1977. He really had an edge. Fast fwd that video to 12:30 when Robert gets introduced. I say all of this to make the point that Robert would have did that song if he stayed with the band. With vocals like Robert Plant, the song would have had some serious bite to it. Steve Perry did a wonderful job, this piece of History is simply shared for the sake of variety.
That is a jukebox laugh. This was the main disseminator of music for the longest time along with the radio. They worked in conjunction. You look in there and see what singles are currently loaded and then it has a letter and a number assigned exactly the same as the way vending machines work. And they did rotate the records in and out although they're always a handful that stay there forever. And every joint was slightly different. That your favorite pool hall for example, it could be that everybody knew that B24 was Ernest Tubb Walking the Floor.
Old contraption that was a juke box, has many vinyl disc records inside, you put in a coin the record drops and plays. In 1980 i was 4 years old lol, i feel old. 😂
I’m 58….oh lord Steve Perry. Every girls dream man of that day. Lots of babies conceived to this band lol. He was actually shy and didn’t love the spot light. Just kinda quit. Recovering from an illness or injury and they demanded he come back or be replaced. He didn’t come back and Journey never recovered losing this amazing front man. He had the best chops ever. Beautiful man and can still sing his 🍑 off today.
Love Journey. You also need to take a listen to The Doobie Brothers, Blue Oyster Cult, Eagles, Chicago, Eric Clapton, and Van Halen just to name a few.
Did you see the very end where it shows Steve Perry standing next to the jukebox smiling? You can tell from the leather jacket that puts the quarter into the jukebox is the same leather jacket on Steve. I was born in 1982 and grew up listening to Journey and knew that was a jukebox at the beginning and I've never seen one in person.
So funny you didn't recognize a jukebox!! Geez I'm getting old. My friend has a jukebox in her family room filled with 45's from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Great music! Steve perry and journey were awesome!
Shockingly Journey never had any No.1 hits. Their songs still managed to remain extremely popular with 19 of their songs making top-40 of the singles charts in the US, six of which reached the top 10 of the US chart. They've also sold over 11million records worldwide, logging 11 platinum or better albums (including diamond certification for both Escape and Greatest Hits). The group's biggest and well known hit being Don't Stop Believing
NIEL SCHONS FUCKING "MASTER" SOLO ALL THRU THIS ON THE LES PAUL PITCH PERFECT , MAKES THIS SONG ONE OF THEIR BEST AND STEVE' S.... BEAUTIFUL VOICE TOPS IT OFF 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' is fire! After Steve left Journey, Arnel Pineda took over vocals and they couldn't have found a better replacement. While Steve Perry will always be the voice, Arnel does pretty well filling those big shoes.
Butttttttt .. seriously AB . 😳😳😳 .. you don't know what a jukebox is ???????? Before technology and computers and internet.. there were albums .. you know vinyl ?? That is how music was played. And there were jukeboxes anywhere in public where music was played.... C'mon man !!!!!!! 💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽💽
Steve Perry is the voice for a reason! Thanks for keeping great music alive!
That old "contraption" was called a jukebox. You would put coins in it and pick your songs and yay music plays!🎉💃🥂😁
Thank you. I'm feeling old as dirt right now.
I’m feeling my age now 🤦🏻♀️
I'm right there with you ! We had the greatest music!!!
OMG! Now I feel really old
They're still around. Lol
I grew up on Journey, my parents played their greatest hits album all the time. My favorite is "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'"
He reacted to that one 😊 that was my first recommendation of theirs, that's my favorite too
Journey was one of my favorite bands in high school! I graduated in 1983. My first high school dance I slow-danced to "Lights" with my boyfriend, who is now my husband of almost 41 years! Please react to that one!
Fantastic song - makes me feel like I've been to the city by the bay!
Journey was one of my favorite bands in high school and I graduated 1997!! Still popular with the teens all those years later!!
The guitarist is Neal Schon and he is a fantastic musician. The lead singer is absolutely superb and was the key ingredient that brought Journey to the forefront of the music world.
The beginning scene was of a jukebox. You’d get to choose three songs for a quarter when I was young. It was sort of like a vending machine for music.
Love me some Journey. Great band along with Styx, Boston, Foreigner.❤
Great track, great band!
Add “Wheel In The Sky” to the list of must listen
🔥🔥 .. fire .. fire .. total fire .. and .more fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 .. one of the best songs ever. .. keep the Journey coming .. !!
You need to hear them live. Steve says a live audience always takes him to a higher level that he can't get to in a studio. BTW, the outtakes of this video are priceless 😂. You could tell they were tired and OVER IT by the end of the day. It's fun to watch.
Their #1 uptempo song is “Don’t stop believing “ but my fave is “Wheel in the sky”
Saw them in concert 1983 in Arizona and Bryan adams was the opening act cuts like a knife but it feels so right excellent love when a group sounds just like their album
Absolutely 😊
Went to that concert in Chicago in 83! Some of my best memories!
Great Song, his voice is gold

ANY journey song will be a hit

I was 20 yrs old when this came out. Another great memory. Thanks 😊
Same here. Unfortunately Journey never came to Winnipeg.
Other uptempo Journey: "Only the Young," "Stone in Love," "Wheel in the Sky," and "Separate Ways." Live - "Mother, Father," "Still They Ride," "Don't Stop Believin'." Great reaction! 🙂❤
I was born in 1971. Yes I am old. I have loved all different types of music throughout my life but the 80' were the best.

Steve Perry is a vocal beast!! The greatest of all time for a reason! ❤❤❤❤

Great classic song. Called him the voice.
You have GOT to hear the live version of "Mother Father" by Journey. It's fire!
I’m gonna have to use what you said about the 80’s hair. Lol.
Steve Perry is the GOAT!!!!

Great song.
“Oh Sherry” is a good one 😊
They were awesome in concert...one of my all time favorites!
Old contraption that was a juke box, has many vinyl disc records inside, you put in a coin the record drops and plays. In 1980 i was 4 years old lol, i feel old. 😂

So funny you didn't recognize a jukebox!! Geez I'm getting old. My friend has a jukebox in her family room filled with 45's from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Great music! Steve perry and journey were awesome!
Steve's Voice Was Fire🔥🔥🔥❤️
JUKEBOX at the beginning.
Can't hear that song without thinking about Rodney Dangerfield dancing on the green at Bushwood.
My favorite journey song❤❤🔥🔥
Thst was the AQUA NET HAIR SPRAU DAYS...KEPT OUR HAIR UP FOR HOURS & DAYS LOL😂
Journey is known for the ballads.. but they could rock also
I'll throw in with a previous comment about that "contraption" being an OG Jukebox. Drop a quarter and hear the latest vinyl. Great video.

That is 70’s hair! 😂
If your music made it to the jukebox then that meant you made it in the music industry.
Neil is literally going insane on guitar from start to finish. 🔥
i like the song I was not born in the 80s I was born in 1991 ❤
Do live journey! "Mother, Father" live will blow you away!
I miss the 80s
❤️
You need to watch “Mother, Father” and “Patiently”
Other uptempo Journey songs: Stone in Love (ua-cam.com/video/E_zfDAOCT84/v-deo.html) and Edge of the Blade (ua-cam.com/video/LoXu6mniI3I/v-deo.html).
Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' is fire! After Steve left Journey, Arnel Pineda took over vocals and they couldn't have found a better replacement. While Steve Perry will always be the voice, Arnel does pretty well filling those big shoes.
Next check out their song Separate Ways. It’s probably their most upbeat song and 🔥🔥
Jude box….it plays records
70's hair!
One of the few bands that sound better live
Try separate ways (worlds apart)
Is it really possible that you've never heard this classic before??
Yes ma’am! Absolutely! Never heard the entire song before in my life
💙🩷💙🩷💙

Separate Ways is up tempo. As is Lovin touchin squeezin.
Crazily- Journey had 19 Billboard Top 40 hits and ZERO #1 Hits

You didn't count from the beginning of his EIGHT count.
Journey and Steve Perry split and then Journey's lead singer has been a cheap knockoff of him ever since
Not recognizing a jute box. And you're roughly my age too. Think I need to sit down.
Guess I shouldn't recommend "Don't Rock The Jutebox".
Bruh, its a *jukebox" haha not "jute" 🤣
@@NitaKerns autocorrect disagreed. Too lazy to fix it. Typed it right later.
