Sealed Jar River Ecosphere Full of Life

The river in a Jar is almost 6 months old. Here's a long video showing the numerous life forms thriving inside.
April 30, 2018 I collected river sand, pebbles, water and a waterlogged stick in a jar and sealed it. I wasn't sure any creatures would show up or even survive but nearly 6 months later, this tiny ecosystem is thriving.

I just got a jar of sand/gravel and water from my local river. At first, water was brown I could barely see what's there but 3h later when water got more clear I see nothing...I think my river is toxic without any life forms 😢
