    Awesome video, one little hint, while searching for thermals, avoid your breaks, use your d lines (4 line wing) for maneuvering to better your glide ratio.

    nice video - thanks rob! watched it after practising today for about 4 hours - will try to incorporate the leaning a little bit more - right now I'm always running beneath the center if I happen to get out of it - or almost always... I face a lot of problems when the glider falls to one side - i always try to brake the other side (that's facing upwards) and get it back up somehow ... most of the time with no luck - i'll try the leaning next time :)

      lamilumag keep at it as in the end it will all come good for you and the rewards are a happy take off and in pilot in control, regards Rob

    I'd like to see a video on the different techniques for holding the risers. There are a few videos out there, but they like detail. I'm interested in the method where you hold the A risers and then the C raisers. I need a better understanding of the brake positioning and use in this method. Thanks

    thanks for the nice video! but please next time put some attention to the volume. the voice is a bit quiet whereas the end music almost ripped my cheap speakers... :-/

      dancetothemusic99 will do i need a mic really fitted next to my mouth with proper cameras placed in glider looking down and someone with a steady cam filming, i do another in the future and see if i can make improvements over all to a more in-depth video, thanks of watching. Regards Rob

      well, the easier way would be to lower the sound volume of the afterwards added sounds. some video cutting programs also allow sound compression to normalize the soundlevels of each audio track. thanks for your videos, i keep on browsing your channel :)

    What does the breakers or brakes actually do?

    • @freeflightbrighton
      @freeflightbrighton  10 років тому +2

      Hello Andrew the brakes, Control the pitch of the glider and allow banking / turning the glider left and right also the flare upon landing.

      Andrew du Toit Your very welcome Andrew when you get your first glider do also have tuition from a school, I suggest research your school and meet the teacher in person. the bond between teacher and student is built upon trust and not money, good look. regards Rob

      It is winter where I am and I am learning and I can't fly (no onshore wind) so I'm spending as much time as I can ground handling
