It's our first day out in a while (terrible winter this year) and we took the opportunity to do some Side to Side Control.
In this video we try to explain the techniques and tricks to always being able to control you paraglider wing when it's on the side in order to do whatever you want.

Excellent video thank you for posting
very on point, thanks guys ! useful as I was just doing these exercises last weekend and I see now which mistakes I was making and how to fix them !
Thanks! Really good video! I like how you´re giving attention to the small details, that make controlling the wing much easier :)
Wow! Thank you so much for this very helpful explanation and demonstration.
Thank you for this video! Will definitely be practicing this with your video!
very educational. this is one of the topics that no one has made yet~ well done~
Very informative, thanks!
Thanks for this. I was trying to get this just yesterday. Knowing that bit about the open stance is key. Great stuff.
Perfect video. Thanks very much!
Probably one of the most informative videos I’ve seen and learnt from in pg. Thanks !!
Loved the vid! The part about the open riser position and walking the radius to get the remaining wing tip off the ground was an “Aha!” moment for me. Thank you for taking the time to post this!
I love ground handling. It hones fine skills of timing, duration and amount of input that DEFINITELY apply to active wing management when you're in the air. Great job as always, love watching your videos!
Learning so much from this channel. Thanks both :)
Nice! I was just trying to show a friend how to do this at our local beach two days ago. I'll send him over to watch this to get taught properly :) I am really looking forward to the intermediate chapter in the Ground Handling Academy. The Essentials chapter is so good, must have more!
Spot on presentation!
Thank you very much Andre, you are BRILLIANT in explaining, You and Gemma teach paragliding simple for to understand, and still safe. I wish you well, best regards for Gemma . God Blesses you both
Good job
Keep doing it
We learn
You grow 🕊
Masterpiece. I've been looking for such explainations for monthes. Waiting fot the GH course, thanks a lot :)
Glad it's helpful!
Excellent!
Really enjoyed this one... I've been playing with / using cobra launch for some time now but I really wasn't getting the body position right. This will be most helpful!
I enjoy your all videos i feel relaxed!!!
Brilliant 👏
Great control
What is the name of the location? Looks like kitesurfing in the lagoon might be possible as well?
11:40 wow I never ever saw this, I'll try one day LoL Great content and explanation. Thanks so Much
Andre is brilliant at getting the technique across 👌
Appreciate it. Glad it helps!
Good to see these types of video again. Now, if only you guys weren't on the other side of the pond.
Thanks for educating!!! Currently, I am just reading reading reading….Will fly soon🤞
I never miss a video.
Parabéns!!! Seus vídeos são ótimos poderia gravar alguns em português 😊😊😊
Love videos like this. I may even go and ground handle this weekend. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos
Gracias x compartir. Dtb
Somehow I missed this. Need to comment to get you back in my feed.
Hi! Which wing do you recommend for ONLY groundhandling in the beach? Thank you!
Hi Martin, it depends on many factors but if you’re going to spend many hours at the beach we recommend the ozone roadrunner, it’s a groundhandling specific wing.
We also have a groundhandling bundle available. I’d say that the harness has a impact as big (if not bigger) than the wing. andrebandarra.com/bandarra-pack
Would this be the basics of the cobra launch. Would you just start in that same position and then tease the wing up by "pulling the bow string"?
Basically, yes!
👏👏👏
I work in a machine shop and this is how the real wobble emachineshop world works when applied to aviation. I'm still in the ground handling stages and waiting for the flying season and I watch videos all day and I'm going to watch this one again because that last move was profound how could you be in a very light wind situation run around the wing in a circle and I would be above your head?
Thanks for the nice comments Mark. About the last move we do have a lesson about the "wind window" on our online course, so if you're learning and at the groundhandling stage the Groundhandling Essentials course might be useful.
Hello hi best paragliding ❤️
great..moustache and the pretty
If you guys could travel to California and stay at my house that would be great. Tour the west coast and teach me to fly in between. Thousand bucks plus free room for your stay. 🙂
great video. light wind makes it look easy. can you do one with 20kn wind?
Sure, here's one in 22kn wind from 5 years ago. For sure it's harder to control the wing in general because it pull you a lot, but the actual side control part is easier. Because of the increased airspeed of the canopy you have A LOT more brake authority before the wing stalls
I learnt this from you faster than from Theo d B.
👍👍👍
😌😌😌
Obrigado zuca, basta praticar! Mas olha que tem legendas em português
