@@ML-pl5ld Haven't tried yet. I don't think I'm ready yet. Despite having a bass for a year now I don't have much time to practice due to college and my part time job. I will one day though!
@@Kaito_Falcon been playing bass since last summer, had a lot of problems with this song in the autumn, revisited and got it fully couple of days ago , despite having problems with dead notes(u can just play full notes, it's sounds richer that way, tho better just learn the technique), so don't scare urself away, it's totally achievable
@@endammir Good for you, that's really cool! Like I said before I'm too busy to practice as much as I'd like to, and currently I can't play some easier songs very well so I'm slowly working my way up. I'll get there one day, not in a hurry.
This is one of those basslines that was never meant to be played exactly as it was recorded. I guarantee that if Paul played this song live today, the bass line wouldn't be played exactly like this. But still it's very interesting to see how he performed this bass line in the studio. There's clearly a heavy emphasis on improv.
One of Paul's big influences on me as a player was exactly this, establish the parts of the song you're going to play the same way and have parts where you improv. It's almost like a jazz way of playing.
He was actualy the Best Guitarist, best Keyboardist, best Drummer in the Beatles, and best Singer of course. too much tallent, his first Solo Album he played all the instruments, "Maybe im Amazed" is amazing .....anyway i believe his Guitar, keyboard and drum talents helped his bass playing
Learning this after a year of playing. Tried to play this when I was 4 months into bass guitar. As you can imagine, it didnt go well. The tablature is really good and clear, thank you so much man.
I need to get this song performance ready for an upcoming gig and this was the perfect lesson for getting me up to speed quickly. Watching the performance along with the tab was a big help. Thanks for taking the time to make it! I used a Vidami pedal which worked really well slowing down some of the more intricate parts.
Playing complex bass lines in the heart of songs is much more difficult than solo virtuoso numbers (often demonstrative and painful). Paul is the unquestionable master of this art, that of melting his total mastery in the service of a melodic ensemble!...
@@LeftyBassman I correct myself, I did not mean that Dont let me down is the most difficult to play, but the one that touched me the most as a beginner to play, honestly I did not try Obladi oblada but it must be as you say
This improvised bass shows Pauls awareness of where all the notes are on the neck. I`m sure he could have played 50 different basslines for every song he performed on. He`s a master of variety
I started playing bass like two weeks ago and still learning to read tabs. I don't understand what it means when there is a little number left to a big number. Can somebody help me please? Thank you!
I honestly don't think McCartney goes to G on the 5th fret of the D string at 0:12 seconds. Think it should go to the F# on the A string (9th fret). But other than that, nice cover.
I believe the Hofner wasn’t used on this track, I am pretty sure it was Paul’s Rickenbacker bass, this fender jazz bass must have sounded closer to the original recording.
Lefty Bassman Thanks for the reply, great playing on this btw. As a bass player and huge Beatles fan (admittedly still learning a few things, but then we’re always learning new things) I like to think I know a decent bit about stuff like this (even though I really don’t 😂)

Paul played some lovely bass lines, really accentuates the melody of the songs

Same. Almost exactly a year before I returned to it to learn it.
Paul is crazy
Probably the most accurate bass tab of hey bulldog out there, I have seen many other bass covers but this one is almost perfect
Thank youuuuu!!!
What a bass line & well played!! Very underrated song in terms of the bass line!! Didn’t realise how layered it was!
Sir Paul amazing..what a bass line.. Beatles music always fantastic

I'm a beginner, the hardest beatles bass line to play is Don't let me down but I like this song so much that I'm going to try it.
To me, for a beginner, the hardest one is obladi oblada

if you say so.

Fantastic!! Sounds really tasty. Thank you for play this song
Hell ya, and the dude covering it is also left handed like Paul McCartney.

This is next on my list as soon I am back from vacation.
Good luck! :)
God damn! What the fuck. I didn't think you could be that good at bass on UA-cam.
I Like so much this bassline, thanks! :D
Greatest bass song ever
Almost as good as "Nice and Sleazy" by the Stranglers.
Such an ace bass line, I might start learning it soon. ✌️☺️
Superb as usual
thanks for the tabs
Amazing as usual lefty!
perfect execution. I don't think you had the right effects on. But it's nice to hear what it sounds like clean

It's called grace note (or acciaccatura in italian). It's a very small note to play just before the main note, it's like a quick slide.
@@LeftyBassman Thank you very much!

Super bass super song

What does the x mean?
It’s a mysterious note 😊
@@LeftyBassman oh so muted
実際の曲はもっとハイフレットを活用しているので、音が違っていて全然当てになりませんね。
Prefer the Fanny version of this bass line. This sucker is just too busy. Ah, McCartney. Shut it down a bit!
Nice, but not perfect. Some mistakes here and there, not a big deal....Great anyway!
