It's funny seeing how Tidal Tempest past turned out, when it's probably the only one of these I could probably pull off since I always loved picking it apart and playing the parts of it on my keyboard (I did a "modern" cover of it on my channel)
This is really good for being from memory! Palmtree Panic, Wacky Workbench, Stardust Speedway, and Metallic Madness are the most accurate ones and are nearly if not 100% spot on! Awesome job as always and good luck with College! I see a bright future for you, you're very talented and I can see you becoming a composer for a gaming studio in the future!
I am most impressed with CCZ. Having attempted to recreate this one in GarageBand myself, I know the harmony at the beginning is kind of a tough cookie. Especially from memory though, which I did NOT do, which is what to me makes this a true spectacle of skill.
This is absolutely sick. Super duper close to the original, honestly don’t know how you managed to pick out super fine details in each song. That’s shows you pay attention to the little things, good job on this 🙏
This is the comment that points out ALL MISTAKES, not a hate comment you did very well on this, I just think that you messed some tracks up with prototype versions and remasters , reply if I missed one PP: 0:42 note is too low and you probably messed it up with the note in the CCD prototype version 1:17 is actually arranged a little differently specifically at the end there CC: PCM 5 is actually not used in the beginning. A little too fast just by a TIIINYYY bit (Edit: Idk why I forgot to say this when I first posted it but this speed it similar to a prototype version of this song), I think PCM 3 is a little higher pitched than usual, 3:52 in PCM 1 one note is supposed to be much quieter like it’s an echo of its last note TT: PCM 1 is SLIGHTLY wrong I can’t put my finger on it 5:36 an entire instrument is missing here 6:07 PCM 5 is pitched a bit wrong I think this version is similar to something I heard in a remaster 6:24 I just realized here that the bongos throughout the song are pitched too low QQ: Actually didn’t notice through my first listen but it’s actually a little too fast, the piano’s notes are held too long but I also heard that in a remaster WW: 10:14 there’s this high hat (I think I’m not good with identifying instruments) that kicks in after a few seconds but this song starts with it SS: 14:29 PCM 3 is missing one note or echo (I hear a very faint one maybe it’s supposed to be louder) 15:00 several instruments stop here for no reason, that’s really it MM: 16:10 PCM 4 needs more echo 16:38 Oh my god, Some notes in PCM 3 are so off, too low 17:05 orchestra hits need more echo
TT is pitched down too low. ”PCM 1 is SLIGHTLY wrong I can’t put my finger on it” PCM 1 is quieter than it should be. 5:36 I don't think any of the instruments are missing, rather PCM 7 (the echo channel) is too quiet. QQ is pitched too high. The bass is too loud. 9:17 PCM 2 is too quiet. In WW, PCM 1 is too high pitched, and PCM 3 is slightly high pitched. I believe that the extra instrument at the beginning is actually a tambourine. The hi-hat is the instrument that appears when the song kicks up (so the t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t noise). PCM 4 is slightly too loud at some points. SS's hue hues are pitched a bit higher than usual. 14:45's pad should be louder. The bass at the loop plays the wrong thing (probably just filler because OP forgot what the bass did at that part). The majority of the instruments are pitched too low. 17:05 too many drums at this part. Most of the channels should be playing a melody, harmonizing, or echoing other channels at that part, so it sounds empty.
These are amazing and very accurate, however I noticed the bassline in stardust speedway is different at the point where the melody from good future comes (the piano part) 15:34
It sounds the exact same… EXCEPT… 1: This note. 0:42 2: This melody part. 3:53 3: Something just feels “off” w/ T.T.’s. 4: Maybe some very minor melody notes w/ Q.Q.’s. 5: Think it’s just the eNd BaSs from W.W.’s. 11:55 6: S.S.’s off w/ no chord echo & wrong pad channel. 7: Maybe some wrong channel usage w/ M.M.’s.
My guess, based on all the other comments here, is he was gonna say Tidal Tempest... But idk why, they're all really good (Maybe it's cuz I didn't listen to the Patreon version.)If somehow that theme was lost to time, I'd be convinced that was the real version of it 🤷♂️
I wish someone who only played the mobile version could do this with all the tracks in the game, maybe someone who hasn’t even heard the tracks since they last played years ago. I’d like to see if maybe memories from both JP and US versions of the songs would blend together where one version fails to be remembered properly
Nice 100% accurate recreation of the soundtrack, what program did you use to make this?😄🤩😎👌 Also, are you gonna eventually reupload some of the Sonic CD oscilloscope videos that used to be on your channel, like the boss theme one and the Stardust Speedway Bad Future Theme?🤨🤔🧐
I recreated the tracks using Chipsynth SFC and the original samples, then exported each mixer track and rendered it out with Corrscope. You can see my process of remaking some of the tracks in other videos on my channel documenting the process.
the piano in ppz has a terrible loop point and i always hated when the original would sustain it/make you hear it and you'd hear it loop really terribly. you actually sequenced and cut it off just right would genuinely listen to your version over the original because i always hated that about the official version
ok yeah tidal tempest sticks out like a sore thumb but that's only because the rest of the songs are just way too good!
Like a little baby devil with a forked tongue
(Eminem reference)
tbh the tidal tempest recreation feels more like a beta version of the final song for me

Everyone is talking about the Tidal Tempest song when Collision Chaos is a lot faster and higher pitched.
Metallic Madness’s intro sounds mare like the present version.
This feels like a new mix instead "something is missing". You have a great memory!!

Wish Stardust was in the best pitch (aka keyed up like present/good/bad future)

From the memory of the person who wrote it goddamn
CD Japanese is my fav!

are the samples on this less compressed than the original? or did you accidentally incorporate little flares from remastering the OST previously?
The samples are the same as the original though some of my transcription errors might be from misremembering the remasters as the originals

Now do the present soundtrack, coward.
(But for real though I couldn't notice any differance between these the originals. Insane job.)
