Yes, I'm glad you're back and don't blame you at all for not making videos. I know first hand how time-consuming good artwork is. Just wanted to let you know that when I first found your channel, you inspired me. I got a Wacom tablet because of you and use it every day. Keep up the great work :)
Brilliant! LOVE the space that you created and the story that it inspires in the mind. In fact, I love that you recorded the process of not really knowing where you were going from the start. This is exactly what happens to me most of the time. It starts with the seed of an idea, like a dream and then unfolds into it's own story from there. Inspiring to watch as I am awaiting the delivery of my Wacom Intuous Pro and have to learn from scratch. Looking forward to watching more of your work.
The last tool you listed is the most important one :D I like how you always (maybe not always but in the 2 videos i watched) start with some image and copy paste it all over the screen and then end up with something completely different. Nice piece :)
This is so breathtakingly beautiful and inspiring. I do character portraits normally but been wanting to get into landscape and scenery and this is so helpful and motivating. Keep it up, your work is incredible!
Very awesome video! Love your painting style. I'm always amazed how detailed these paintings end up from far away because up close they look very rough. Great video! I'm looking forward to try these techniques in my own work and I look forward to seeing more!
I LOVED the soundtrack. And this is just a stunning piece of work. Oh, just a question... Why do you use that image at the start? For inspiration or texture?
how lucky i am to have subbed just two days ago :) Your talent is amazing; It's awesome to actually see how this art style is done I've been so impressed by it for years
it's ok to ramble too! just takes a bit longer for you. you can always over-compress it in post for us if you feel its too long, but being spontaeous in artwork always makes you feel better inside when it eventually turns out right!
It is good sometimes to start from a chaotic POV that way there is no preconceived thoughts on how you think it should look, maybe, it's best to let the painting go where it wants to go.
+mars37us definitely true! But sometimes they don't go anywhere and at some point I was afraid that was going to happen during this recording :p But yes, sometimes a chaotic process does bring a more creative and surprising outcome :)
Using another painting as a base gives him somewhere to start; textures and and pre-existing colors to pick from and sculpt, that is. Starting from a blank canvas without a composition in mind can be really difficult so...
I'm having trouble finding tutorials on concept art, I'd like to be a decent concept artist but I can't seem to find tutorials on this topic, what should I do?
I have a question please, i've noticed this thing around many artists: why do you regularly flip the canvas horizontally? Is it to handle the composition? Or why? Does it help?
As someone who often paints people, in my experience a painting can look completely fine to you when you're in the middle of it, but then you flip the canvas and the anatomy/perspective can look completely wonky. And then if you fix it it will look even better when you flip it back to normal. It's basically just to get a change of perspective and people do it with mirrors too when painting traditionally!
What is your thought process behind doing this painting? Manipulating photos to create a fantastic art piece is just amazing. I've tried it a few times and wasn't happy with what I came up with.
THIS is what I want to do. What is this called? Where can these be used? I am planning on going into some form of art when I end up going to college, but I'm not sure what kind of art I want to specialize in, but these sorts of things I would LOVE doing for a living (I already do a little bit, but I'm not very professional yet)
This is usually called "concept art", an image made to inspire or to give ideas for other media like illustration, game environments etc. It's one of the more creative artforms, as you have the chance to think of your own designs (and also one of the more popular jobs).
Hi, first of all I just wanted to say that I think you're work is amazing. Secondly I have to questions. Nr.1: What software do you use? And nr.2: What exactly is composition or what does it mean. It might be a very basic question but as someone who has never really been doing art and just wants to paint it as a hobby I've never had it explained to me before. Keep up the awesome work. :)
He uses Photoshop with the Wacom drawing tablet. Composition is many things so I'll just go over the basics. - One way of composing is to use the "thirds rule" where you think of imaginary lines dividing the canvas into thirds vertically and horizontally. Then you want to place major shapes either following a line, or centered on one of the intersections of two lines - Another way is to use the "Fibonacci Spiral" (look it up I'm not gonna try to explain it) but you want to have the flow of your painting follow the spiral from the outside to the center. - And the last thing is to always have a near and a far. Something that's right up close to the viewpoint so that it contrasts with the other things that are far away. I hope that helped :)
That was awesome! I didn't see it written anywhere or shared in the video: How long did this take? I was blown away at the numerous occasions where you changed one detail in a split second and changed the entire atmosphere and mood of the image.
I draw, I watch this, I draw, I watch this. I've watched it countless times and I'm improving every time. Thanks!
The Digital Bob Ross. 6 months later and I'm still so inspired by your work, greatly talented. Love the videos.

It's been a while since I saw a speed painting. Wonderful to see the magic again
Very cinematic! The art is wonderful, and the music just peaks it's beauty! Reminds me of the elderscrolls. Great work as usual! :)
+Rythaze Thank you! The music IS from The Elder Scrolls - Oblivion! ( except the last one, which is from World of Warcraft )
The last tool you listed is the most important one :D I like how you always (maybe not always but in the 2 videos i watched) start with some image and copy paste it all over the screen and then end up with something completely different. Nice piece :)
Ugh this piece is so cool, gives me major Shadow of the Colossus vibes
Finally, after 10 months of waiting, a video from you :)
im crying right now. how can people draw like this? its amazing!
When the second Oblivion OST played I nearly dropped my phone.
One of my favorite game soundtracks (nostalgia)

The music was the soul of the art and the heart was the work, it is the most awesome concept ever and I would like to do this one day, 🤩BEAUTIFUL🤩.
Amazing timelapse, I love to see these breakdown video's, very inspiring!
All this process.. It was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen..
You're amazing!
This is so breathtakingly beautiful and inspiring. I do character portraits normally but been wanting to get into landscape and scenery and this is so helpful and motivating. Keep it up, your work is incredible!
Really interesting that you used your own work as a base to start building ideas from...I'll have to try that some day in one of my own pieces.
Thanks for this bit of inspiration. The music...loved MW!
YES!! You're back!! Thank you!
Did anyone else see's a giant face in the rock on the left side of the painting??

Out of all yr paintings this ones my favourite! 😊
3:21 Made me cry. That's why I love it.
Very awesome video! Love your painting style. I'm always amazed how detailed these paintings end up from far away because up close they look very rough. Great video! I'm looking forward to try these techniques in my own work and I look forward to seeing more!
Love getting new vids from you. Love seeing the process and the end results.
Im so happy you're back! Keep up the incredible work.
How many hours did it take you to make this?
Its always nice seeing one of these videos appear in my sub box. Great work! :)
Just amazing! Change the silhouette to a lama and a guy in a poncho and you got The Emperor's New Groove haha :)
Breathtaking
Magnificent work !
I LOVED the soundtrack. And this is just a stunning piece of work. Oh, just a question... Why do you use that image at the start? For inspiration or texture?
+Becky Dahl Just to not paint on a blank canvas, this way I already have some texture and some colors I can pick!
Thanks! :)
+JJcanvas That is such a good idea. Im gonna use that :D
that song remind me to Spider-Man
Soundtrack - Jeremy Soul.
From Oblivion's soundtrack. One of my favorites too.
how lucky i am to have subbed just two days ago :)
Your talent is amazing; It's awesome to actually see how this art style is done
I've been so impressed by it for years
Absolutely beautiful! I wish I was as creative as you are so I could create masterpieces like these.
I have observed some of your works without hesitation
it's ok to ramble too! just takes a bit longer for you. you can always over-compress it in post for us if you feel its too long, but being spontaeous in artwork always makes you feel better inside when it eventually turns out right!

It's really fun to just wing it sometimes. :) This was awesome to watch.
Saw it on Deviantart, nice to see the progress from the beginning :)

Outstanding and very emotional! Thank you so much for sharing it.

Amazing! Beautiful light! :)
I love the morrowind music in the background

I don't really know why you needed the original picture since you painted all over it, but the result is exceptional as always.
Hey mate, just wondering, why do you use orther painting in the creating of yours? Like at @1:25. What does it at to your inspiration?
Using another painting as a base gives him somewhere to start; textures and and pre-existing colors to pick from and sculpt, that is. Starting from a blank canvas without a composition in mind can be really difficult so...
Alright. Maybe I should try this method then. Thanks. :)
can we make concept art or something like this with mouse ? cause i dont have pentab
YOU DESERVE TRILLIONS OF SUBSCRIBERS
Hi JJcanvas, what kind of brushes did u use for this image?
Love your videos man! Hope to see more in the future!
mmmm I was missing the coffee tool now I understand why my background were so bad!!!!
hehe thanks for sharing your process !!
How did you make your brush rotate as you paint? I tried all of your brushes but none of them could do that
I'm having trouble finding tutorials on concept art, I'd like to be a decent concept artist but I can't seem to find tutorials on this topic, what should I do?
Google "Concept art tutorial" or "landscape art tutorial"

Amazing, just amazing
This is so awesome. I wonder the character’s back story... what’s she doing there? Is she looking for her past? A secret? Someone? We’ll never know!
What is your thought process behind doing this painting? Manipulating photos to create a fantastic art piece is just amazing. I've tried it a few times and wasn't happy with what I came up with.

Credits to coffee :"D Loved this!
why do you commence with an image which you chop up and rearrange? I've noticed a lot of digital artists doing this, what's the reason?
+AbsentPhilosophers not happy with the way it looks, composition and scale might not look right to them
Amazing work per usual. Keep it up.
is there any online community or something that all the artists (especially ones just starting) can join so we can help each other out?
Do you use a drawing tablet or mouse?
hey, do you have copyright over this or can we use this photo?
Awesome! I loved the composition.
Beautiful concept art!!
i ordered an XP Pen 10S which is like a cyntiq but it only costs 300 sooooo excited
