Whenever we visited my cousins from Newton MA we would take the green line D branch from Newton Centre into the city. They moved to Florida during the summer of 2016. Boston is a great city full of great American history.
I've been in Boston many times to visit relatives My transit rides were only on subways and trackless trolleys. And the green line used PCCs back then. Thanks Tim for this video of an interesting operation😀💚
Cool to see the old and new rolling stock running together, I’m guessing that it has to do with the older cars not having some sort of PTC so they must have a newer car attached? Great video as always, keep it up!
Type 7 need to be attached to Type 8 to meet the accessibility standard more conveniently, since Type 7 are high-floor and Type 8 are partial low-floor. Although some stations have lifts for wheelchairs to board Type 7, they are rarely used.
Green Line (B) has 23 stations in all Green Line (C) has 20 stations in all Green Line (D) has 25 stations in all Green Line (E) has 25 stations in all Now all the Green Line stations has 70
On game days, how come they don’t open the crowd gates when exiting Fenway station? As i recall, that used to be standard practice, to prevent crowding and possible accidents because passengers cannot safely clear the platform. The T has problems, but sometimes they are from the neck up and cannot be blamed on budget.
Literally a few weeks ago I went to Boston and I had to commute with the Green Line every day. I have a video on all colored lines here: m.ua-cam.com/video/LGd6UNxDUD4/v-deo.html

Btw the newer Type 8 car uses the same traction as the R142a R188 and R143 in the NYC subway.
That's interesting.
I ❤ trains, trams, take a ride, I have a folder on ''transportation''
(folder 2, in playlists) you will love them too :)
Thanks for checking up on the Green Line for me! I'm glad they're doing good!

They go in mixed traffic, road medians, old railway lines, tunnels, and an elevated! So diverse!
i left Boston in 1989. I eas showing this clip to my husband because he's never been to Boston. Very impressive with the new cars.
6:31 Sounds like the R142A/R188 & R143.
Propulsion sounds familiar ;)
Good to see Union Square trains.
haha they sound like the 142a/188/143s. nice
If my memory is correct I think they actually are the exact same propulsion
Yep. Bombardier MITRAC Model 1508C.
Nice video! The green line is one of my favorites
I saw the green line yesterday for the first time !
10:08 Such a cool shot, where else in the world can you see that? Green Line is truly unique
Somehow, they do look identical to Toronto Transit Commission's CLRV's and ALRV's and its pretty cool

@@tsecret8678 Ah okay that makes sense, thank you!
@@tsecret8678 Yup you are 100% correct. They do that to remain compliant with ADA.
Lets go green line time
전철이 매우 특이하네요. 초록색이 예쁩니다. 저도 여기에 여행가서 타보고 싶네요.
@@Starlyrra_II yes. I'm Korean.
@@Starlyrra_II This green train is beautiful color.
I was shocked as f🤬 to ride these babies for the 1st time when i got to Boston. I couldn’t believe they looked like this!
6:31 It sounds like a NYC subway lol
Ngl I think the Boston green line sounds like R143/R142A/R188
Dj hammers I’m watching your channel on 4K for the first time
How much I miss it❤️❤️❤️❤️🥺🇺🇸
Awesome
Why the green line sound look like the r188
This line reminds me so much of muni transit in San Francisco!
The trains sound like the R143
I know right
Is it rush hour or something, there tons of people at the first/second stop shown.
Looks like Fenway during a game day
I might’ve been on that train at park street station going to Boston collage
Nice

Have you done the Ashmont Red line?
2:57 Doesn't that propulsion sound like the R142A/R143 propulsion?
It’s the same propulsion
And R188

LRV Type 8= R188-R142A
Why do some Type 7 cars have the LED signs? I thought all of them had the LCD signs?
I believe they are being retrofit because the LED signs can be better read at a distance.
🚇
Yay🚂

Red Line meta
I don't know why but these trams remind me of pea soup.
NOPE.
Ta
The worst transit line on the MBTA. The line should never be at street level. Takes at least 1hr to travel 3 miles. Absurd
green line is awful far to slow
