Said Miyamoto to the people who wanted traditional controls as an option: "I think I'll torture you, for a while!" shit i didn't even hate the controls but just let me move all the audio to my tv please
If you keep Star Fox Assault you get Peppy becoming General and Pepper retiring. You also get the Star Fox Star Wolf team up, where Star Wolf basically says "Believe in your own justice"
Just in case anyone is curious as to the full lyrics of the F-Zero song Woolie was referencing, the theme song of James McCloud, IIRC it goes like this: He is the hero - Leader of the team Dark green and silver - That's the suit of the team Shining 'Little Wyvern' - Make the speed of light Fine-tuned machine - Gonna be the star! He basically looks exactly like what you'd expect a human version of the character to look like. His bio states that he used to lead the elite space fighter squad "Galaxy Dog", that he converted his fighter into a suspiciously Arwing-like F-Zero racer, and that he has a wife and a son. In other words, he is an undeniable Star Fox reference from top to bottom.
29:12 no you guys this game is mentioning Iwata the guy who made this game and died towards the end of development. He was a legendary worker of Nintendo and then he passed away. That’s why they put that tribute there in the first place after the credits.
Ok as someone who does like this game that did anger me. Slippy customzies the Rwing to have a walker mode yet it looks like a walking chicken. Starwolf gets walkers and they look like bad ass wolfs come on we could have at least had something that looked like a fox or something.
No new Star Fox as of 2023 makes these closing comments even sadder. If people can just embrace the amazing goofy melodrama of Assault and Command, and if we can get more on-rails levels than all-range-mode ones, there could still be hope for the fantastic Mr. Fox.
26:54 I remember seeing this sequence in the original Star Fox 64 credit seqeunce and thinking "WHY ARE YOU RUNNING ON FOOT? YOU HAVE SHIPS." Well now they are running in their ships.
Woolie Snake does ride into battle with Otacon. He flies the helicopter during the fight with the harrier jet. You know the super op jet flown by the ultimate clone of Big Boss wearing a super exo suit.
Nintendo can't win. People want them to back to the roots, they do, and they flop. They stray away from the standard, and people hate it. Cut them a goddamn break.
We are still playing splatoon bro. And there is now a high stakes argument out there now. Mario Galaxy 3 or Mario Sunshine 2 They don't need a break, they just need to stick with a game plan. Other M was good (fuck the story) but if they made it entirely over the shoulder or entirely 3rd person or entirely 1st without the awkward controls, it would have been great. Nintendo just needs to stop using awkward controls. Use motion entirely, use analog entirely, just give us the choice and no half-and-half back and forth. Splatoon is great in that you only look at your gamepad once in a while and then never again. They just need to be smart about it.
furyberserk On that note, Nintendo is supposed to be the most accessible gaming company to lure in families. Crazy new controls may be a great idea (they're functional when you're good), but they aren't going to put casual butts in seats.
+MrGMoney1944 I want more Metroid too but from a sales perspective it doesn't deserve it. Which sucks because Federation Force will only make that problem worse.

It's horrible. God damn I was so pumped for new Star Fox and hearing how poorly this game is selling...who knows if we'll ever get a new one. I don't want this IP to go away
One thing I've always liked about Star Fox is that end shot of your bill, and how much you get paid going up by how many enemies you defeated and your scores on the levels. It's a real nice touch and a cool way to do a "high score" screen. I wish more games would use a similar thing, Metroid for example I think would work real great with it, since the Federation constantly hires Samus but we have no idea what her rates are.
"Three times the gates were opened to me. I was awaited in Valhalla. They were calling my name. I should be walking with James McCloud or feasting with the heroes of our time. Why did you save me, Fox?"

People bitching in the comment section about the games length clearly have never played a Star Fox game before. It is meant to be played multiple times. According to "How Long to Beat" SF0 story +extra is 6 hours. Also according to HLtB DMC1 story alone is 6 1/2 hours. Even if you're fine with the length it's still relatively short and some people just wanted more.

Well I mean if we count Command as canon he's like the only person who ALWAYS has a stable relationship with his girlfriend/fiance, regardless of the path you take.
Two words, man: _Game, Cube._ It was a brilliant game that fell nearly entirely off the radar because of its archaic console for its era. Wonderful 101 is in a very similar boat in our current era, too, if you want to compare something. Tragic on one hand, but on the other hand a cult following is still a nice boast for any game.
SchwaWarrior Damn man... Game Cube was such an awesome system with a ton of good games, which only one is standing out still kinda :( but you are right...

Star Fox Assault was by far the best for many more reasons than any other star fox game, because it used things from 64 and added more, it was so fucking cool!
I enjoyed this game but it's so flawed in almost every way. The controls didn't bother me but the complexity is needless and by the time you adjusted to the controls you've seen just about everything there is, and for a game that's about 4 hours to see everything, too much of the level design is lacking to say the least. it only works for those who like getting highscores and collecting all the medals. I recommend people check out Game Maker's Toolkit's video "A Deep Dive into Star Fox Zero's Controls". It's a good analysis on the real issue with the controls (it goes beyond just gyro aiming which is not the problem).
Apparently the reason this game's story is just 64's again is because this is the one series Miyamoto believes should have a focus on story, so he wanted to expand upon the original with little bits of new lore like the teleporter being built with Andross, and then have that all set up for the next game. And apparently he felt the story needed to be told again instead of immediately going to a sequel to 64, I'd assume so Adventures/Assault/Command wouldn't be considered still canon.
Liam. Liam. The casual players who hated this game wouldnt have cared about a good Starfox story IF IT WAS SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE TO ACTUALLY PLAY THE DAMN GAME IN THE FIRST PLACE! The complaints were about the controls. Not the story, the controls. So yes having more traditional controls would have helped the game lol. Stop confusing what you want with what would help the game sell.
Except thats what the majority of people wanted. I can only assume most of those never even played starfox 64 and actually understood what kind of game it was. "Be careful what you wish for."
Woolie almost said Gorilla Monsoon, but reeled it back in enough time. "Super Trap Fort", I feel would've a zone in Woolie's Castle SuperBeast, in which we learn through lore that the architect of Super Trap Fort was killed and their soul is trapped in a huge boss body.
I thought being telaported to another demnsion is the reason Andras is a giant head but I guess making a giant robot head makes more sense. 27:17 I thought Matt was gonna say being held by Shinnok.
DamuEmran I like Liger Zero as well, as matter of fact I have one of Liger Zero in it's booster mode as one of my action figures. Berserk Fury was what the T-rex one was called, and yeah, that was pretty awesome as well.
Starfox 64 again, all the way down to the ending cutscene and the invoice to Pepper at the end (which, by the way, is now 640 spacebux per enemy instead of 64).
Alan didnt make the whole game because this is THE TUTORIAL AND LIAM THINKS THIS IS THE WHOLE FUCKING GAME, there are actual branching paths and new story after this tutorial run AND THE THING THEY SAY WOULD HAVE BEEN AWESOME IS ACTUALLY ONE OF THEM, YOU CAN ACTUALLY GO BACK AND SAVE JAMES BUT LIAMS A FUCKING GUN JUMPER WHO JUST TOLD 10K PEOPLE THE TUTORIAL WAS THE WHOLE GAME
Why is everyone in the comments screaming at Liam for things he didn't say? Liam didn't say "this is the whole game", he said "it's basically StarFox 64 again". StarFox 64 had a short campaign that you played through multiple times on multiple different branching paths. He's obviously beaten the game several times in several ways, because he talks about other paths through the game and how they differ. So why are you so mad at him for saying things he didn't say, and not knowing things he obviously knew?
I love that these guys point out the gamepad is actually really useful and a fun way to shoot, instead of most people who wrench it around going "ARGH Y U NO WORKZ FAIL NINTENDO FUK THIZ!"
To everyone saying that this was made as an overhaul of Star Fox 64 with new controls: the last Star Fox game was a 3DS port of 64, and the series hadn't been heard from in years. That's not counting virtual console rerelease a of 64. I think we've had enough 64, and to say that the series big return is 64 AGAIN is super frustrating. Literally all I want at this point is to go past 64 and tell a new story in the universe.
Okay, I'm getting a little tired of Miyamoto now. Someone needs to reign that fuck in, he's turning his beloved franchises into nothing. They need to treat him like David Cage, give him a team that will slap him when he comes up with a stupid idea like "Make Star Fox 64 again!"
Game: You (effectively) finished the tutorial...thank god. Now you can play the rest of the game!Liam: Alright, we finished the game!Game: Wait, what the f-Liam: It was really disappointing.Game: But you haven't even started it yet!Liam: Nope, the game's over.Game: Have you ever actually played Star Fox 64? Because I'm not sure anymore.Liam: This franchise it's dead now.Game: Well...you're not wrong
they should make a Star Fox B-team game, where you play through a group of cadet pilots. it could have the original team make cameos all over the place, but easily be its own content/story/characters/etc. too risky for nintendo.
That's because its the tutorial version, the real runs of the game have a real Andross fight, and just like 64 the brain phase is only on the true path that Liam's too much of a punk to be able to finish
Um, there's only one version of the Andross fight in Star Fox Zero. There's no brain phase. I like the game a whole lot, but I have to be honest and say, yes, this game fucked up by not having multiple versions of the final level.
Chris Messier Are we talking about the same game? Because I've been playing Star Fox Zero over and over again and have fought Andross the same way every time. I've looked online and that's the only version I've seen. Now, if there's something I'm missing, I'd be dying to know.
"You're telling me the story of Star Fox is basically the story of Planet Hulk and into World War Hulk!?" Now I want a spin off where you play as Andross and conquer this alternate dimension to then launch war on the Lylat system.
I didn't know the Starfox fanbase was SO shitty. Because there's Liam, one of the few people defending the control system in the new Starfox, and they're still mad at him because he's showing some criticism and not praising every single part of the game.
God, that was just about the saddest ending ever. Not the game, but Matt, Woolie and Liam talking about all the ways this game failed and all the mistakes Nintendo made, and seems to be intent to continue making, with some of their IPs. I think you guys hit the nail on the head on pretty much all counts, here. And come on, IF they ever make a new one, you know it's gonna be another reboot. But that'll have to wait until after the Metroid, F-Zero, Paper Mario and Splatoon reboots, of course.
Nintendo thinks that if it doesn't immediately sell like hotcakes, or hasn't had a game recently, that it needs an entire overhaul from top to bottom or else it won't sell.
Thus it ends in true Zaibatsu style. With everyone present grievously misunderstanding basically game play mechanics, even the fucker who's already beaten the game multiple times.
that's one shit excuse bro. "the games only shitty because they didn't play it the right way" if you can play a game in a way where you turn it into shit then it probably isn't a good game
what part of "Quit after the tutorial" means "didnt play the right way" you fucks he literally STOPPED PLAYING EARLY AND SAID THE TUTORIAL WAS THE WHOLE GAME
The reason this game isn't selling well is because you have to use f*cking motion controls. If people could have played this with controller options this game would have gotten solid reviews.
i agree about the controls but i still dont think it would matter. its been the same action since 64(20 years now). a rail shooter doesnt make since anymore.
Well see that's the thing. They might be superior, and I bet a lot of people would have figured that out eventually. But you gotta lure em in first by promising "normal" controls as an option. Motion controls should have been presented as a superior option, rather than the only one.
+Darlos9D I had hoped people would have learned this with Splatoon. But you're right there are a lot of Pats out there who will outright refuse to play the game because of the stigma any kind of motion control has.
For the people who say that Liam effectively just played the tutorial, what do the branching paths give besides more levels? Does it change the ending in any way? Does it give more boss fights that are different and cool? I'd like an honest answer cause I don't know and I want to understand if this anger is justified or it's just anger because they didn't play it the way they were "supposed" to.
From what I've been seeing online, there's something like 2 bosses Liam missed that are completely new and a couple repeats of other bosses/star wolf, there is only one ending though. :(All in all I would say it adds on about another hour and a half of gameplay at max, which still isn't a lot.
odd that people are saying that, im pretty sure you have to get down most of a route before you can unlock more levels. and no there is only the one ending.
It doesn't change the ending, sadly. What they missed out in this game: -2 Extra fights against Star Wolf (none of them against Leon) -1 Planet (Fortuna) with the Monarch Dodora boss and racist Slippy -2 Versions of the Asteroid Field, both basically the same escort mission except one has a re-skin of the Monarch Dodora -1 Alternate boss on Corneria, the Aquarosa, that they'd have to fight twice to get to -2 alternate routes, Arwing through Zoness and chasing Andrew through the colony -1 Kind of rad secret exit in Titania that leads to -1 Bonus level where you play as Peppy against a dreadnought (also Peppy's Arwing can barrel roll way better than the normal one, and he yells "barrel roll!" every time you do it.) It doesn't really add up to much more than 35 minutes or so though, all things considered.
I'm so bummed out by this game. With the throw-backs to the Snes game and the ending them that still sends chills down my spine all it amounts to is Starfox 64 again, but having to learn an entirely new control scheme while I could just as easilly go play Starfox 64 again. On another note: In the Archie comics there is a backstory for Robotnik where he was a good guy. There is also a story about how Robotnik became Eggman because he accidentally got fused with an egg or something. It was in some UA-cam vid whose name I can't recall.
I love Matt's opening comment that wasn't acknowledged at all. LIAM: "You gotta shoot 'em in the bum." MATT: "In the bum? Girls hate that." Hahahaha, that little side comment made me chuckle quite a bit.
Oh man, wouldn't it be cool if the maze tunnel thing wasn't based on right ways but rather you not hesitating? As your father tells you to trust your instincts, the game sees how certain you are and how fast you pick the path, be steel and just go without hesitating.
Wanna talk about what's finishing on a bummer is this LP where in this last episode they're just talking shit out of their ass when they have no idea what the fuck they're even talking about after Liam ate shit through this entire series.
same star fox 64 with a controller gimmick. older fans are bored of it and younger kids dont care. At this point star fox needs to go a different direction. Some where in between rogue squadron and ace combat.
Last time Star Fox went in a different direction (assault), the fans hated it and complained that it wasn't enough like 64. You people don't know what you want.
We don't want a third person adventure game that doesn't take place in space for 90% of the runtime. We want a step forward in the franchise, not a "wacky, whole new way to play!"
thats what i thought they would do after rogue squadron was such a big hit. trash the tank and stupid submarine then add more aircraft with some more control options, something more interesting then down and boost(maybe some thrust vectoring mechanic). then continue the dam story line. but now we run the risk of making the game too complex for the younger audience which at this point is fine. Im willing to bet the younger generation doesnt care about star fox and i refuse to play a updated version of something i beat 20 years ago.
"You sowed these seeds Nintendo," Well I mean technically I suppose but it's not their fault people hated Adventures, Assault and Command each to varying degrees.
Could you imagine if Platinum had been allowed to sneak in a Bladewolf cameo for a ground battle with Star Wolf and then suddenly "I'm My Own Master Now" overcame the Star Wolf theme like it was Trombe?
God damn I would love a dimension/timeline hopping star fox game where you visit locations and events from every game, and bring all the other foxes and starfox members together to stop andross forever. And fuck Platinum is totally the company that could do that justice.
Man, I love the idea of Fox going back in time to stop Pigma but going to the wrong moment so he has to fight James and Peppy off as well because they don't know what the fuck is even happening.
Personally, the story of star fox is as interesting to me as the story in mario games. And the controls I got used too. I think the game is pretty solid, 7.8/10 I mean, it's better than the last 3 games we got(adventures, assault, command) with their fanfiction.net nonsense
"The Star Fox franchise screamed REAL good, before it died!"
Said Miyamoto to the people who wanted traditional controls as an option: "I think I'll torture you, for a while!"
shit i didn't even hate the controls but just let me move all the audio to my tv please
If you keep Star Fox Assault you get Peppy becoming General and Pepper retiring. You also get the Star Fox Star Wolf team up, where Star Wolf basically says "Believe in your own justice"
Just in case anyone is curious as to the full lyrics of the F-Zero song Woolie was referencing, the theme song of James McCloud, IIRC it goes like this:
He is the hero - Leader of the team
Dark green and silver - That's the suit of the team
Shining 'Little Wyvern' - Make the speed of light
Fine-tuned machine - Gonna be the star!
He basically looks exactly like what you'd expect a human version of the character to look like. His bio states that he used to lead the elite space fighter squad "Galaxy Dog", that he converted his fighter into a suspiciously Arwing-like F-Zero racer, and that he has a wife and a son. This is one of those LP's that I will forget ever happened on this channel.
Most LP's with Woolie and Liam on it.
cant forget freedom planet and guacamelee. matt and woolie lps are way more forgettable.
did liam seriously think that the boost was andross' life bar?
It's Way of the Samurai all over again.
I thought so too. Has he not been paying attention to the boss health bars being clearly on the top of the screen?
Maybe we're looking at the wrong screen. The WiiU gamepad is a mysterious piece of technology.
Victorious Secret andross doesnt have a health bar source: ive Beaten the game
In real life, Liam has a Gun Jump meter at the bottom of his vision and still hasn't realized what it is.
29:12 no you guys this game is mentioning Iwata the guy who made this game and died towards the end of development. He was a legendary worker of Nintendo and then he passed away. That’s why they put that tribute there in the first place after the credits.

No wonder people hate Slippy
To be fair the Chicken walker beat 4 Wolf Mechs. Perhaps Slippy designed the walker for practical use rather than brand recognition.
What if Slippy was designing the walkers to look like foxes, but then he saw Falco's hand with a knife coming in from the corner of his eye.
Well... a single chicken did take out 4 bad ass wolfs
Practicality beats Fashion man, dem strong legs lets you walk a lot

Woolie's constant hatred of Slippy and him trying to convince everyone that he's worse than Griffith is kinda cute.
Griffith is more likable.
It's great because none agrees with him.
When did he say he's worse than Griffith?
If you lock onto Andross's head when you do the U turn as your escaping, James will say "You've become so strong Fox"
Wanna see me play through all of Star Fox Zero?
...
Wanna see me do it again?

Slippy does go ahead on his own for his dad but its more out of spite for spawning him.
Slippy: "Do you think love can bloom, even on a battlefield?"
Fox: "Not for you."

+Edward Desiderio Slippy: "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag..?"

It's meant to played through multiple times due to multiple paths you can take.
Star Fox Zero is the Nier of video games.
but then what is Nier?
Which all lead to the same place
Klimp42 Simple: Nier is the Nier of Nier
It's still way too short for a full price game and there isn't enough to discover to encourage multiple playthroughs.
Just get the guy who did A Fox in Space to write the next game.
The guy finishes the script and presents it to Nintendo higher-ups and is immediately sued for copyright infringement.
"but you payed me to write the-"
"No shut up."
I expect a bunch of cocaine and heroin in the script. And passive aggressive Wolf banter. Cause I live for that.

Love how the best friends have a better concept for a Star Fox game than Miyamoto.
100% on board with Andy going out with a maximum level jobber scream in that second fight.
Star Fox franchise deserves better. Just my small opinion.

Why nobody talks about Star Fox Assault? We all know Dinosaur Temperatures suck, but Assault is fucking great!

SchwaWarrior Damn man... Game Cube was such an awesome system with a ton of good games, which only one is standing out still kinda :( but you are right...
Is decent, not great. There were not enough flying stages, and and the tank/waking ones were repetitive as hell.
Zagardal But like when you are in that red space colony and suddenly star wolf appears and you have to get out into space and fight! thats awesome!
or when wolf flies you in his wing to take down pepper
or just driving the arwing and you could get on top and fire from your blaster to look cool
also it felt more detailed as you were playing as Fox in the levels, it actually felt like people could live there (the stages needed to be bigger to make it more believable but) instead of the world that Arwing Chicken could see, which is plain metal with no in depth to it, nobody would live in a planet like corneria from zero, look it up close.

Andres Perez
it had some pretty cool moments, I won't argue against that, but the gameplay was never as tight as it needed to be.
Liam somehow managed to gun-jump so far, he landed at the end of the game.
Not that I'm complaining. Blazblue next?
still going at it eh?
NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER BE GAME OVER.
I wonder, what did you actually say in the BlazeBlue vid?
+_ pueblo _ trust your instincts?

Stop confusing what you want with what would help the game sell.
I feel bad that the game isn't selling well, but I DON'T WANT TO PLAY STARFOX 64 AGAIN.
Except thats what the majority of people wanted.
I can only assume most of those never even played starfox 64 and actually understood what kind of game it was.
"Be careful what you wish for."
Liam: "I don't know why his health bar didn't move."
Probably because that was the boost gauge, and it did move. You just weren't paying attention.
I guess it really is over, hasn’t been a Star Fox game since this
Use the boost to get through the LP.
Oh no! You used it too much!
USE THE BREAK!
I thought being telaported to another demnsion is the reason Andras is a giant head but I guess making a giant robot head makes more sense.
27:17 I thought Matt was gonna say being held by Shinnok.
C'MOOOOOOOON PLAY STAR FOX ASSAULT NEEEEEXT
If Platinum Games remade Star Fox Adventures, It would be so sick.
I know they'd let us fight General Scales.
Those wolf/fox mechs reminds me of Shadow fox Zoid piloted by Brad from Zoids: New Century
Oh god yes, that was one of the coolest Zoids in the show.
Byron Lyons yeah I like Zoid along with liger zero. And that one T-rex zoid as well.
DamuEmran I like Liger Zero as well, as matter of fact I have one of Liger Zero in it's booster mode as one of my action figures. Berserk Fury was what the T-rex one was called, and yeah, that was pretty awesome as well.
Byron Lyons yeah Berserk fury that thing was so cool. I remember Liger Zero had different forms
Starfox 64 again, all the way down to the ending cutscene and the invoice to Pepper at the end (which, by the way, is now 640 spacebux per enemy instead of 64).
Wow Alan, how did you make the entire game in a day?
Nice reference from we all know where ;)
He made it in Zero days.
he didn't have to write Tricky's intricate dialogue options, so it was a breeze.
Well, here's hoping a proper sequel rolls around within the next decade
I love that these guys point out the gamepad is actually really useful and a fun way to shoot, instead of most people who wrench it around going "ARGH Y U NO WORKZ FAIL NINTENDO FUK THIZ!"
Wolf Blitzer is such a Metal Gear name.
It's also a really good Mega Man X Maverick name if you switch them around.
Liam confusing the health bar with boost bar
Great job beating Star Fox 64 again, awaiting the next Chasing Dead-esque LP
9:07 Incoming zoids battle.
Despite this game not selling well Miyamoto is still interested in continuing the series along with Pikmin.
Liam, I wish you could showcase the Hunter level (the one on one fight with Fox and Wolf) to show how "Blade Wolf" things get.
Starfox Assault. when
you FOOLS!! IT WAS ME, ANDROSS ALL ALONG
WHAT?! A Nintendo game where the bad guy is the exact same fucking guy in every single game? Who could have see it coming?!
+axel palais like Metroid.
SF Zero should have been James' story with a bonus gameplay segment at the end where you team up with Fox in the future.
The Best Friends crew seem to be into the game and lore while the youtube commenters are eating each other a live.
Poetry.
Hey look, it's Star Fox 64
Again
:(
Yeah, but this time you don't get to fight a train or see Slippy's Arwing get pimp-smacked, so it's a net loss really.
"Lets ignore the other levels despite knowing that they exist"
they should make a Star Fox B-team game, where you play through a group of cadet pilots. it could have the original team make cameos all over the place, but easily be its own content/story/characters/etc. too risky for nintendo.
Something something General Pupper, something something the tables have turned.
I'm going to miss Star Fox. I have such fond memories of 64 and Assault. It's one of my favourite game series
That Andross fight was terrible, and no creepy brain phase either
That's because its the tutorial version, the real runs of the game have a real Andross fight, and just like 64 the brain phase is only on the true path that Liam's too much of a punk to be able to finish
Um, there's only one version of the Andross fight in Star Fox Zero. There's no brain phase.
I like the game a whole lot, but I have to be honest and say, yes, this game fucked up by not having multiple versions of the final level.
There are multiple version of the final level and entirely different final levels are you sure you did the real stuff?
Chris Messier Are we talking about the same game? Because I've been playing Star Fox Zero over and over again and have fought Andross the same way every time. I've looked online and that's the only version I've seen. Now, if there's something I'm missing, I'd be dying to know.
There are NO different versions of the final level or battle. This is the only version of the fight.
"You're telling me the story of Star Fox is basically the story of Planet Hulk and into World War Hulk!?"
Now I want a spin off where you play as Andross and conquer this alternate dimension to then launch war on the Lylat system.
I didn't know the Starfox fanbase was SO shitty. Because there's Liam, one of the few people defending the control system in the new Starfox, and they're still mad at him because he's showing some criticism and not praising every single part of the game.
Spot on Wolf Blitzer impersonation guys. Bravo!
I hope they do a playthrough of Star Fox Assault.
Nintendo thinks that if it doesn't immediately sell like hotcakes, or hasn't had a game recently, that it needs an entire overhaul from top to bottom or else it won't sell.
What a bittersweet ending to the LP. Makes me want to give the game another go.
Thus it ends in true Zaibatsu style. With everyone present grievously misunderstanding basically game play mechanics, even the fucker who's already beaten the game multiple times.
Holy shit those Wolfen ships are SO much better than the chicken arwings. Why didn't slippy make them transform into fox robots?!
The title art for these videos is WAY better than the quality of the game.
they literally only finished the tutorial because Liam's a punk bitch who couldn't get a real ending
that's one shit excuse bro. "the games only shitty because they didn't play it the right way" if you can play a game in a way where you turn it into shit then it probably isn't a good game
Yeah Dark Souls is a really shitty game
what part of "Quit after the tutorial" means "didnt play the right way" you fucks he literally STOPPED PLAYING EARLY AND SAID THE TUTORIAL WAS THE WHOLE GAME
It probably took longer to make too.
Woolie hating on slippy is ok, comparing to otacon, not ok
The reason this game isn't selling well is because you have to use f*cking motion controls. If people could have played this with controller options this game would have gotten solid reviews.
I tell you man, Sony does what Ninten-_don't!_
edit: PC too, most of the time!
You mean if it had inferior controls? Gyro controls are better to use than a stick for aiming. Reviewers are just lazy as hell.
i agree about the controls but i still dont think it would matter. its been the same action since 64(20 years now). a rail shooter doesnt make since anymore.
The big metal-faced Andross is a great call-back to the SNES game.
Liam missed his chance at the epic-er finish to Andross as you can do a lock-on shot at the end and it gets an cool camera effect.
*Million Dollar Idea:* A Wolf In Space as a Telltale Game
"his health bar is at the bottom. Idk why it's not going down.."
jesus christ that's the boost liam
So people are freaking ou for nothing? Sounds like business as usual
It doesn't change the ending, sadly. What they missed out in this game:
-2 Extra fights against Star Wolf (none of them against Leon)
-1 Planet (Fortuna) with the Monarch Dodora boss and racist Slippy
-2 Versions of the Asteroid Field, both basically the same escort mission
except one has a re-skin of the Monarch Dodora
-1 Alternate boss on Corneria, the Aquarosa, that they'd have to fight twice
to get to
-2 alternate routes, Arwing through Zoness and chasing Andrew through
the colony
-1 Kind of rad secret exit in Titania that leads to
-1 Bonus level where you play as Peppy against a dreadnought (also Peppy's
Arwing can barrel roll way better than the normal one, and he yells "barrel
roll!" every time you do it.)
It doesn't really add up to much more than 35 minutes or so though, all things considered.
Please elaborate on racist Slippy. I'm amused and intrigued.
No Krystal waifu, no game
@29:16 ohh thank you Liam, I was hoping that Matt wasn't as slow as he sounded.
I went into this game with very low expectations, boy was I surprised! It was excellent!
"A big X on his butt for Star Fox team to blam on!"
Yooooo, shoutouts to OSDub.
Actually according to the April NPD, it was the fifth best selling individual SKU of the month. Plus the 10th best selling overall game.
80% of this comment section has no idea how good star fox games work if they think this game is bad because it's "short".
Panther was only in Star Fox Assault Though xD
and in Star Fox Command, so yes, only in Star Fox Assault
Andres Perez OH right Star Fox Command was on The DS XD
In command, he stole Fox's booty tho!
+maxspecs In one ending.
***** In other he joined F-Zero lol
0:40 Okay Woolie, you're reaching now.
Humania is still a cool name for our planet.
5:30 - PT reference. that's a near exact quote from the end spoken dialogue before the Silent Hills reveal part.
Wanna talk about what's finishing on a bummer is this LP where in this last episode they're just talking shit out of their ass when they have no idea what the fuck they're even talking about after Liam ate shit through this entire series.
Now to wait 10 more years before another StarFox
Look at Fox burying Star Wolf like they're the Nexus.
same star fox 64 with a controller gimmick. older fans are bored of it and younger kids dont care.
Then lets remake star fox 64 for the 500th time.
thats what i thought they would do after rogue squadron was such a big hit. trash the tank and stupid submarine then add more aircraft with some more control options, something more interesting then down and boost(maybe some thrust vectoring mechanic). then continue the dam story line.
but now we run the risk of making the game too complex for the younger audience which at this point is fine. Im willing to bet the younger generation doesnt care about star fox and i refuse to play a updated version of something i beat 20 years ago.
Where are we going? Dum dee duuuum.
"You sowed these seeds Nintendo,"
Well I mean technically I suppose but it's not their fault people hated Adventures, Assault and Command each to varying degrees.
What, if my wingmen were Snake, Raiden, Frank Jaegar, and Otacon, I'd be totally set! I agree with Matt.
At the least, Fox doesn't have to go around saying "Pay me."
Could you imagine if Platinum had been allowed to sneak in a Bladewolf cameo for a ground battle with Star Wolf and then suddenly "I'm My Own Master Now" overcame the Star Wolf theme like it was Trombe?
Man, if the Lone Wolf mission had a special failure animation that was just Wolf pulling a zandatsu on Fox that would be the sickest thing.
I think the game is pretty solid, 7.8/10
I mean, it's better than the last 3 games we got(adventures, assault, command) with their fanfiction.net nonsense
